From Spring 2005 through the present, he has had a series of dreams which he believes are inspired by God. They have all been documented on his "4 His People" website. These dreams contain many elements of Bible truth that lead many to wonder if he is a Prophet of the Lord, or if his dreams are a fulfillment of end-time prophecies that, "your old men shall dream dreams" (Joel 2:28), etc. We have studied this matter, and we have come to the conclusion that Ernie's dreams are NOT from God. It is true that his dreams have contained many true statements on Bible doctrine. However, it is Satan's practice to come as an "angel of light" (2 Cor 11:14) in order to deceive. Just as he quoted Scripture to Christ in the wilderness, but with his own twist, Satan is doing the same through Ernie. We are particularly dismayed at Ernie's statements on the Tithe, which are in direct conflict with Bible truth. We are also troubled by the nature of the dialogue in these dreams between Ernie and the "Herald". Several individuals have already written documents refuting the claimed inspiration of Ernie Knoll's dreams. Rather than duplicate their efforts, we refer the reader to a particularly thorough and pointed one, written by Mr. Eugene Prewitt. It is used by his permission and is provided here in several formats: Eugene Prewitt: Regarding Dreams and Ernie Knoll - HTML, 117k | ODT, 45k | PDF, 182k | DOC, 267k As the end times rapidly approach, and indeed are already upon us, let us commit ourselves faithfully to prayer and to deep study of the Word, that we may be protected from Satan and all of his false prophets. Update (May 12th, 2008): Since Mr. Prewitt initially wrote the above document, two things have occurred. First, Ernie Knoll has posted another dream on his website, dated April 12, 2008. Second, we have obtained permission from Pastor Steve Wohlberg to post a few of his own documents: a refutal of Ernie's dreams, a discourse on Ellen White's "Watson Letter" as it pertains to tithing, and a response to the April 12th dream:
Steve Wohlberg: Ernie Knoll, False Prophet -

Update (May 22, 2008): Today, we received an open letter from Linda Kirk to Ernie Knoll, seeking to draw Ernie's attention and ours to the deceptive nature of Ernie's dreams. Linda had been very close to Ernie and very actively involved in promoting the dreams and the 4HisPeople ministry. Her letter contains new, highly pertinent information that was largely not covered by Pastor Wohlberg's and Eugene Prewitt's documents above. Thus, with her permission, we post it here: Linda Kirk: Open Letter to Ernie Knoll - HTML, 57k | ODT, 36k | PDF, 137k | DOC, 87k Update (May 23, 2008): For greater visibility, these documents have been moved to their own website, www.notaprophet.org. Any additional documents are likely to be placed there, instead of on this page. Note: We do not intend for this page to be an ongoing catalog or database of refutals to Ernie Knoll's dreams. This page was created to alert our visitors to a potentially dangerous deception, and we believe the above documents sufficiently cover the subject at hand. However, as events develop, we may yet post additional materials. |
