Restoration 2017:  As He Walked

Nothing Undone

My Father which is in heaven, Lord I'm so thankful, so thankful to be here, so thankful to be alive.

Most importantly Father I'm so thankful to have you in my life.

And Lord there are some here maybe this morning that are maybe just learning how to walk with you or haven't even started in their walk with you.

I pray this morning that they may be invigorated and encouraged to start it today.

For those, Father, who maybe for years have been walking with You and have been stumbling along the way or even maybe at this very moment, they feel like giving up.

I pray, Lord, that this message will be a message of hope for them to keep on that straight and narrow way.

Lord, I love you so much and I'm so thankful for this opportunity you've given me.

Please bless us now through the presence of your Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name, amen.

In 1972, a two-year-old Chinese boy, I'm just gonna say his name was Bob, I cannot pronounce it, fell from a table and went into a coma.

When he woke up after 6 days, he was not able to talk or move.

Like any parent, his mother was very distressed.

But what made her distress multiply was the fact that she was too poor to get treatment and help for her son.

So what would this poor, depressed woman do for the son that she loved?

This mother knew that if I just let my son lay in bed all these years for the rest of his life, He will be liable of getting terrible bed sores and other sicknesses as a result.

So she began to carry him from his infancy all the way to her death.

He was unable to move, and so for the past 30 years his mother has been carrying him on her back.

As of May of 2002 the mother was 65 years old and weighed a whopping 80 pounds.

Her son, now a grown man, weighed 180 pounds.

On many occasions, the mother had fallen and fractured bones while carrying her son.

When asked, how in the world can you do this?

She simply said, he ain't heavy, he's my son.

Friends, you know why I love Christ so much?

He was willing to come down here and carry the sins of the world.

He was willing to go through all the pain, all the suffering, because he loves us so much.

While carrying the cross, while falling down 3 times, collapsed at the third time, the people thought he died.

He never once said this cross is too heavy, while carrying that wooden cross up to Golgotha.

He never once thought, while nailed on the cross, even though I'm being separated from my father, my love is not as great as this pain is.

He never thought once of quitting while on that cross.

In 1843 a baby was born by the name of Sam Houston Jr.

He began service in the Confederacy in 1861.

On April 7, 1863, at the famous Civil War Battle of Shiloh, Sam Houston Jr.

He was knocked to the ground and would likely have died had it not been for his mother's Bible which he carried in his knapsack.

Ripping through the pages, listen closely, the lead ball stopped directly over the 70th Psalm which reads, you are my help and my deliverer.

The Bible he carried actually stopped a bullet.

Ladies and gentlemen, there are men and women in the Bible who have had the same inspiration to recognize no matter what is going on in my life, my Father can hold my burdens.

Others have faithfully held on to God's promises and His Word when attacked by the enemy of souls and have seen the salvation of the Lord.

1 such character is 1 of my favorites in all the Bible.

Not much is said about the early years of Joshua.

We know that he is from the tribe of Ephraim, for he is the son of Nun.

And what's powerful, He named His son, His second son Ephraim, because his name literally means, God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

Did God multiply Joseph's blessings while in Egypt?

Now listen, yet when it was time for Joseph's father, Jacob, to bless the firstborn Manasseh, who did he bless?

He said, the younger brother will be greater than the older.

However, listen closely, this great tribe became the name of backsliding Israel described in the book of Hosea.

Ephraim's greatness seemed to be summarized in the life of 1 man, Joshua.

Joshua literally means Jehovah is my salvation.

Throughout the course of his life of affliction, God blessed him greatly for he sought Jehovah as his salvation.

He recognized God as his Father, 1 who could bear all his burdens.

And today, friends, maybe you came in here all burdened with sin, work, stress, family, whatever it may be, you friends have someone you can turn to today.

For those who are just starting in their Christian walk, or those who have been walking this long, straight and narrow way, We need to understand that we have entered a battle, a battle over our souls, that we can only win by daily recognizing our need for Jesus.

What burdens are you carrying this morning?

Now there is a story in the Bible that has moved me.

The next session that we'll be talking about, I think it starts at 4, I'll be talking about how to win Muslims, Catholics.

We had 8 people, 8 people in 1 of our last series that had Muslim background, got baptized in our last evangelistic meetings.

And so how can we reach these people, the Muslims, Catholics, how can we meet all denominations?

I'll be talking about that in our next seminar.

But today, friends, I want to share with you a message of hope and encouragement.

As we continue on the topic, nothing undone.

And when you're there, let me hear a hearty, happy, awake, Amen.

When you're there, let me hear a little better Amen.

For you that don't know where Joshua is at, that's alright.

It's after the first 5 books of the Bible.

I want to cover some important things and learn from his life the secret of soul winning.

Joshua chapter 9 we're looking at verse 1.

The Bible says, And it came to pass when all the kings which were on this side of Jordan in the, in the hills, in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, the Jebusite heard thereof, that they gathered themselves together to fight with Joshua and with Israel with 1 accord.

And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and Ai, they did work willily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their donkeys, and wine bottles, old and rent, and bound them up, and old shoes and clotted upon their feet, and old garments upon them, and all the bread of their provision was dry and wood-housed friends.
