Events and Their Order

Father in heaven, we thank you for this Sabbath day that you've given to us.

And Lord, we thank you for the opportunity to come and study your word this morning.

And Father, we thank you for the protection and the safety we can find in the arms of Jesus.

But more than that, may He come into our hearts and speak to us today.

What I'm sharing with you this morning has arisen from questions that people have asked me as I've traveled around, and the more questions I got, the more confused I myself became.

And this is by no means a comprehensive study.

But if you are taking notes, I just want to let you know that the quotes that I'm sharing with you, you can email me and I will send those out to you.

But the chart that you're going to be seeing on the projector is not on paper form yet.

It's work in the make, it's a rough draft still, so if you want to take notes, please take note of the timeline that I'm showing you.

The sermon is entitled, Events and Their Order, and we're going to be going through a series of quotes by Sister White, and we're going to place these events in a timeline.

And I'm just going to start off with a few quotes here to show you why it is so important that we understand the order of events in our day today.

Now can the people at the back see it clearly?

And I'm just gonna read the quotes and we're just gonna move on, but bear in mind, I'm gonna have my email at the end of the session that you can take down to email me for the quotes later.

So in the prophecies of the future, is open before us as plainly as it was opened to the disciples by the words of Christ.

The events connected with the close of probation, the work of preparation for the time of trouble are clearly presented.

But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed.

So we have to understand the, especially the events connected with the closed probation, the work of preparation for the time of trouble, and what we should be doing today.

In Testimonies to the Church, Volume 6, page 128, it also says, they should know the things that will come to pass before the closing up of the world's history.

These things concern our eternal welfare and teachers and students should give more attention to them.

This is the reason why I am presenting this morning, because Sister White told us that we should have a clearer understanding of the things that are to take place in the last days, especially the events.

And she says this, early writings page 41, I saw that the powers of earth are now being shaken and that events come in order.

When we map out this timeline, I hope that you will be able to see clearly none of this guessing and second work of, second guessing of where things should go.

God has given us enough information, at least through the writing of the Spirit of Prophecy.

I am presenting you Spirit of Prophecy quotes this morning for the sake of time.

If I were to do 1 just wholly on the Bible, which I should do in the future, it would be much longer, but pray for me that I can have some time to plug all this time in.

But I'm just sharing with you spirit of prophecy quotes this morning.

The youth should seek God more earnestly.

The tempest is coming and we must get ready for its fury by having repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord will arise to shake terribly the earth.

Thousands of ships will be hurled into the depths of the sea.

Disasters by rail will become more and more frequent.

We know that probation is closing just because of the fact of all these events that are taking place.

She continues to say in Welfare Ministry, page 136, that the judgments of God are in the land, and she says at the end, the prophecies of the 11th of Daniel have almost reached their final fulfillment.

So we know that Daniel 11 is only partially fulfilled at the moment.

And so we should go back, open up our books to the chapter of Daniel 11 to see what are the events that are yet to take place.

For these things are connected to our eternal well-being.

So here, we have a little simple timeline that I've put up, and it's gonna be populated as we go along.

But I just have 3 sections put out, and the last section being the second coming.

What we just saw come in was increasing disasters towards the end of time, towards the close of probation.

And of course, I just want to put a little note here.

I don't know what date that this line is gonna come into effect, but I know that we should place ourselves just before that first line right there.

As the movement for Sunday enforcement becomes more bold and decided, the law will be invoked against commandment keepers.

They will be threatened with fines and imprisonment.

And some will be offered positions of influence and other rewards and advantages as inducements to renounce their faith.

They're going to say, look, we're going to pay you more money.

If you come worship on Sunday with us, we're going to give you some extra benefits.

Maybe you'll be exempt from tax, who knows?

But they will offer us inducements that we may follow along with their customs.

But their steadfast answer, now we need to remember this if we want to answer this way, amen, but the steadfast answer is, show us from the word of God our error.

The same plea that was made by Luther under similar circumstances, those who are arranged before the courts make a strong vindication of the truth, and some who hear them are led to take their stand to all the commandments of God.

Thus, light will be brought before thousands who otherwise would know nothing of these truths.

So, what we're seeing here is as the Sunday Law comes in, we see 2 things that are first coming in.

First, it's fines and imprisonments, and the second is inducements.

2 stages of the Sunday Law we see so far according to the spirit of prophecy.

I ask the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the true witness to the Laodiceans.

This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver and lead him to exalt the standard and pull forth the straight truth.

Some will not bear this straight testimony.

They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people.

So there will be a shaking among God's people.

Number 1, it'll be the straight testimony.

It will not be Ben's abrasive personality.

It will be the straight testimony and the straight testimony alone.

That means when we come to preach, we need to be careful, I need to be very careful how I present the truth, that my words do not offend, but it's the truth that offends, amen?

And so I pray that as we come up and present the truth in the end of time, that we'll be sensitive to the hearts of the people and allow the truth itself to sift out God's people and the tares, the wheat from the tares.

So the first level of the shaking is straight testimony.

When the shaking comes by the introduction of false theories, these surface readers anchored nowhere are like shifting sand.

They slide into any position to suit the tenor of their feelings of bitterness.

Not having received the love of the truth, they will be taken in the delusions of the enemy, they will give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils and will depart from the faith.

The enemy will bring in false theories, Such as the doctrine that there is no sanctuary.

This is 1 of the points on which there'll be a departing from the faith.
