The Hour of His Judgment

Well, let's pray together and then we're going to get into our message for tonight.

So let's just bow our heads and ask the Lord to be with us.

Father in heaven, Lord, we're thankful for the end of another week and for the Sabbath that's coming on, palace in time that you've made for us.

And we ask that your blessing could rest upon us now as we open your holy word, and we come in Christ's name, amen.

All right, tonight we're gonna continue studying the 3 angels' messages.

And tonight we're looking again in the first angel's message at just another phrase.

And That phrase is found in Revelation chapter 14, verse 6 and 7.

You may remember what it says there, And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, fear God and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment has come and worship him who made heaven and earth the sea and the springs of water." So already we've looked at the posisting of these 3 angels messages, the last 3 messages before Christ's coming, which is mentioned in Revelation 14, 14, and 15, and these last 3 warning messages that come just before the Second Coming.

And then we started to look at the first angel's message and we spent a whole hour looking at the everlasting gospel, which we probably could spend more than an hour, I suppose.

But we spent an hour looking at the everlasting gospel.

Then we spent another hour looking at fear God.

The fear of the Lord leads to life and he who has it will abide in satisfaction.

And now the hour of his judgment is come.

It's actually pictured here in Revelation chapter 14 as being a part of the everlasting gospel.

So it has to be good news if it's part of the gospel, yes?

Psalm 35 verse 24, judge me O Lord my God according to thy righteousness and let them not rejoice over me.

Good news of the judgment, judge me, O Lord.

How can someone see the judgment as good news?

Well, let's look at the judgment in Revelation.

Open your Bibles to Revelation 6, 9 and 10.

And in Revelation 6, 9 and 10, we see the judgment first mentioned.

And when he opened the fifth seal, or actually, yeah, building up to Revelation 14, 6 and 7, I saw under the altar, when he opened the fifth seal, the souls of those who had been slain, for what?

The word of God and for the testimony that they held.

And they cried out with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, till you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?

They want to see the judgment materialize.

How long until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?

Now, when Cain killed his brother Abel, it says in Genesis chapter 4 and verse 10 that the voice of Cain's blood cried out to God.

So someone who had died, then their blood was crying out to God for the judgment.

So the judgment can only be understood, I might say, if we understand what happens to people when they die.

If you don't understand what happens to people when you die, you're not going to understand the judgment.

Some people think that when you die you immediately go to heaven, you never ever die.

And what sense would the judgment make then?

And by the way, what sense would the second coming make?

Why would you come back if you're already there, right?

So the judgment can only be understood if we understand what happens to people when they die.

Speaking of that, my computer is about to die because you get my cord out of there and out of my bag.

Now, there's only 2 Bible passages that speak about immortality, and they speak of God.

All right, thank you for that vigorous response.

Only at their resurrection, when Christ comes again, will believers receive immortality.

We are mortal, subject to death, and we receive immortality at the second coming.

What happens between now and the second coming?

They rest in the grave, and that means what?

Humans have a soul but are not a soul, and certainly not an immortal soul.

Never in the Bible is the phrase immortal soul used, ever.

So, humans are not a soul but they have a soul.

And you remember how God breathed into man the breath of life and he became a what?

So when people die, they're resting in the grave and they're awaiting the what?

It's appointed to man once to die, then the what?

The judgment, it says in Hebrews chapter 9.

So the living know that they shall die but the dead know not anything and they have no more reward for the memory of them is forgotten and the dead do not praise the Lord nor any who go down into silence." So those who have died who are faithful Christians are sleeping the sleep of death.

Those who are wicked who have died are not in some eternal burning hell.

There's not eternal immortality in hell or in heaven until there's a what?

The dead are all asleep awaiting the judgment.

And the judgment is a process and when it ends all questions will be answered.

How many of you have ever had questions you wanted answered by God?

And God is wanting to answer every single question that you have.

In fact, he's wanting to answer every question in the universe.

Matthew 6, verse 10, thy will be done on as it is in.

So God's desire is that, and then John 14, 1-3, I go to prepare a place for you and if I go I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also so no one's there yet He has to come again to receive them to himself that where he is they may be also.

And does he want as many people there as possible?

And he wants you to actually live in that mansion.

He's doing everything to prepare a place that you can go there.
