Vital Traits for Soulwinning

I'm going to invite you all to please kneel with me if you are able to.

Let's go ahead and let's kneel and have a word of prayer, and then we will get into the message.

Our loving Father, Lord, we are so grateful for this wonderful day.

We thank you for a beautiful Holy Sabbath day of rest, that we can all come together in Christian fellowship, and even in this sanctuary we already are seeing the demonstration of how God can work through the hearts of every nation, kindred, tongue and people.

And Lord, we're grateful to be part of this family of God.

And I pray that our hearts might not only be drawn closer to 1 to another, but especially close to you.

And may you truly come now, send your Holy Spirit, we ask.

And may he minister to our hearts and open our eyes and help us behold wondrous things out of your word.

For we ask all of these blessings in the worthy and in the mighty name of Jesus, let everyone say, amen.

There's a few things that I just want to draw our attention to.

1 of the things that's really been getting closer and closer, more impressed upon my heart is the very purpose of the church.

And the very purpose of the church we would find in the declaration of Jesus in the book of Matthew 28, where he made it very clear, go.

Teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost.

Now this was not merely to be done to every nation kindred tongue and people but this was to be done even to every age group as well.

It is in the precious little book great controversy that gives a beautiful picture of our history.

And it was in the 1800s that when adults were going around place to place and they were telling people about the soon coming of Jesus, that as adults were going around and telling everyone Jesus is coming soon according to the prophecy of Daniel chapter 8 and verse 14.

When these Advent believers were giving this message, the adults suffered so much persecution in certain places in our world that after a while the adults did not have any longer the freedom to preach as freely without persecution as young people did.

God began working through the hearts of young men and young women.

These young people were actually going around and though they would swing on swings like any other child, play in the sand like any other child, and their voices sounded like children.

It is in the Little Book Great Controversy, page 366, that it says that these child preachers, they were called child preachers, There were times that the Spirit of God would take possession of their hearts, and it says their tone of voice and their mannerism would change.

And it says that they would begin to speak with authority and would proclaim the words of John the revelator and say fear God and give glory to him for the hour of his judgment has come these children were as young as 6 and 8 years old you can read that again the little book great controversy read it right there page 366 beautiful account of history And so what was God trying to communicate to yours and my heart?

God was simply trying to say, the proclamation of the gospel is for every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, and it's also for every age group.

Children as young as 6 years old can preach the gospel.

But the Bible is very, very clear that you can't preach what you don't know.

And you certainly shouldn't preach what you're not living or following yourself.

And so it is that when we talk about the great commission of Christ, the great commission of Christ is very clear.

That word teach actually in the Greek, it actually means to make disciples.

In other words, if I were to ask you right now, how many of us are members of the church?

How many of you are members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church?

Now, if somebody were to say, okay, very good, you're all members.

The next question is how many of you are disciples?

The question is how many of our hands would still go up, right?

Now, if you're a disciple, then that means you under, when Jesus said that in Matthew chapter 28, let's turn your Bibles there.

Go to Matthew 28, let's just take a look at something.

If you go to Matthew 28, because again, what I don't read is that God called us to go make members.

I don't see that in the gospel commission.

Matthew 28, and we're looking at verse 16.

And when you get there, just let me know by saying amen.

In Matthew 28 and verse 16, the Bible says, "'Then the 11' what?

"'Aha, then the 11 disciples went away into Galilee, "'into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them and when they saw him they worshipped him but some doubted and Jesus came and spake unto them, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Now, after Jesus makes it clear to the 11 disciples, all power has been given unto me in heaven and in earth then he says go ye therefore so the command that Christ gave was not merely to what today we would call pastors The commandment that Christ gave was to all disciples.

The 11 was all of the 12, 1 of them, you know, betrayed.

So I want you to understand, if you're a disciple, then that means that you've been going and you've been teaching and you've been preaching and you've been preparing others to become disciples.

So again, when I asked the question, how many of us are members of the church?

Oh man, a lot of hands go up, I get that.

But when I say, well, how many of you are disciples?

You see, it's easy to say I'm a disciple when the word disciple has no real meaning.

But when we understand the function of a disciple, Now we begin to think a little bit harder.

Because if I'm a disciple, I was given a command.

And I understand we have to make money to eat, especially in California, because it's expensive to eat.

But what I'm simply saying, family, is that we all must recognize Jesus.

This is why in the month of August of this year, By the grace of God, we're going to be holding a 1 month gospel medical missionary training.

The whole purpose of going through that gospel medical missionary training class is our desire is to really help God's people become what he always wanted us to become.

I promise you, do you know some of the greatest miseries in your life is as a result that you are not busy enough in soul winning?

If you look at the 11th chapter, I wanna show you this.

The most miserable life on earth, and I cannot repeat this enough.

So because I live 2 lives, I speak with authority.

I have lived a life when it was all about me.

Oh, but Dwayne, that might hurt somebody.
