Embrace the Struggle

You know, I joined this, can you guys hear me?

Let's open up with a word of prayer first.

Father in heaven, we are just so grateful for this opportunity of all these ministries that come together all under 1 roof.

And our purpose, Lord, is to finish this work.

So we pray, Lord, as we go through this message entitled Embrace the Struggle, that your Holy Spirit be with us.

So, for you guys who don't know me, my name is Gabriel McClover, my wife.

I have 5 children and 1 on the way, so we're kind of busy.

And it's amazing because when we got baptized, the Lord brought us in, because we, a little bit about our testimony, I grew up as a Pentecostal, I was a preacher's kid, and my understanding about Christianity was, I just went to church every Sunday and say bless going in and bless going out and I was saved and Over time my brother and I were very athletic my older brother got a division 1 football scholarship He played the NFL.

I played division 1 football, my younger brother played Division I football, my older sister ran track.

And we started studying, me and my brother started studying the Bible, and we started seeing inconsistencies.

And the Lord, over time, he changed our diet, he introduced us to the Sabbath, before I even heard of a seven-day Adventist.

So we're talking years, I never heard of a seven-day Adventist, and then when we got baptized, the Lord saw fit that we start to join this movement, that he brought us into a church in South Florida where Narlan was preaching a health event.

Brother Monet was 1 of the Bible workers there and his wife.

So it's just amazing to see when the Lord brought us in, the same individuals that we met earlier, still in the work and still doing amazing things.

And I always tell Narl, I said, appreciate their ministry when they first started out.

My wife, she went to 1 of her, went to his wife, he went to Samantha's cooking classes.

She got inspired to start really getting into plant-based food.

And now we have a restaurant, we've worked with so many people.

So it's important for us to stay faithful to what the Lord has called us.

And that's why we're gonna go into this topic entitled Embrace the Struggle.

And this is near and dear to my heart because oftentimes you hear the positive things about ministry right we hear all these mission reports which is great it's encouraging but there are challenges that that come about and there are challenges that we face and I think it's important for us to address it, to meet it, and then give us tools to deal with it when it comes.

This is, I came across this text and this is from the book, why is this thing popping up?

All right, anyway, it's from volume 6 of the testimonies, page 140, paragraph 2.

Soldiers in the Christ and those who enlist in his army are expected to do what type of work?

You know, when I joined, we got baptized.

I got into the Adventist Church, I'm like, this is God's church.

And I kind of just put my feet up and I kind of relaxed a little bit.

I was in corporate America, six-figure sales job.

I had this job, and I'm looking at my account, seeing what cleared.

And then I started looking at my accounts.

Everything that was attached to my name said 0.

And I said, what in the world is going on?

Now, at that time, I understood it because we read the book Country Living, right after we got baptized.

I saw the importance of growing our own food.

I wore a suit every day for 10 years, sweating, bugs, it just wasn't in my thing.

But the Lord had shown me very, very clearly that it was time for me to get serious about His work.

And as I was praying when this thing happened, the Lord just clearly told me, you do not have as much time as you think you do.

And immediately my mind went to Hebrews 11, 7.

No 1 be in war with God of things not seen of yet.

Move with fear and build an ark to the saving of his family.

Work which will tax their energies to the utmost.

We must understand that a soldier's life is 1 of aggressive warfare, of perseverance and endurance.

For Christ's sake, we are to endure trials.

We have to meet the most powerful adversaries where we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against rules of this darkness in this world, against spiritual wickedness and high places.

We are to find our strength just where the early disciples found their strength.

These all continue with 1 accord in prayer and supplication and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and they spake the word with boldness and the multitude them that believe were 1 heart and 1 soul.

I like when God says, okay, you're gonna come and you're gonna work for me.

I'm gonna give you full disclosure here, no surprises.

And I like, cause I work with a lot of young people.

You know, I'm on the board of Advance Agriculture Association and we're coming up with an initiative for the young people from 14 to 27, and I love challenging young people.
