God’s Message Through the Missing Missionaries

The title for our message this morning is Who will fill the shoes?

But before we get into the message, I would invite you to stand up with me as we pray.

Dearly Father, thank you so much for this blessed time we have had so far this week and thank you for all the testimonies, what you are doing across Europe.

And I just want to pray, God, that you may be here in a very special way with your Spirit as through this message, that your angels may be here.

We pray that you may really lead my words and speak to our minds, speak to our hearts, inspire us, challenge us.

God, I pray that we may live different than we came.

I pray that this will make an impact, not only as we sit here for a few minutes, but a month down the road, a year down the road, years down the road, that this will make a difference truly in our lives and that you may lead us, impress us with decisions you may want us to make or plans you may have for our lives for the future.

I pray God that as a result of this message and what you will speak to us and as we receive that into our hearts, I pray God that there will be people in heaven as a result.

I think that by your grace it will happen, by your power, not because we are worthy but because you are worthy.

So I pray that you may richly lead and bless.

Thank you so much for hearing and answering this prayer with these things in Jesus' precious and powerful name.

I've been very blessed by this message myself, or what I will be sharing with you, so I'm looking forward to sharing with you and I hope and trust that you will be blessed and inspired as well.

Imagine with me that you were a young adult around the year of 1446 BC.

Imagine that after seeing 10 spectacular manifestations of God's power, finally the ruler of the country has decided to let your people go.

Imagine walking through that Red Sea on dry ground.

Imagine seeing the powerful walls of water on each side as you're walking through.

Imagine knowing that you are right now living to see the fulfillment of prophecy, of a 400-year prophecy.

You have grown up, you have heard your parents' bedtime stories telling about this prophecy, and finally you are there, you see it with your own eyes.

Or imagine if you lived the 6th century BC and 1 day you go and you turn on the news and on the news you see that the mightiest person in the world, on the planet, you see him make a proclamation that basically your people can go back to your land and rebuild the capital, Jerusalem.

And the 70-year captivity in Babylon is finally over.

And even if you have heard, even if you are familiar with the prophecies of Isaiah, that mention King Cyrus by name, that would make that proclamation some 150 years before it happened, Even if you knew about those prophecies, it's hard.

You live there, you see that on the news, you know.

It's hard to believe that it's really true.

It's hard to really take in, you know, that this amazing opportunity for a new beginning is truly there.

It's not hard to imagine that you would be extremely excited.

It's not hard to imagine that you would be able to relate to the words of the psalm that says, when the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with singing.

Then they said among the nations, the Lord has done great things for them.

The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad.

It's not hard to imagine that that's kind of the spirit you have as you are leaving, you're going from Babylon, you're going back to your country.

Or imagine with me that you live in the time of the early church.

For thousands of years your people have earnestly prayed for and waited for the Messiah and finally he has come and he has raised up the church, he has founded the church and now that church that Jesus himself founded, they are spreading the message, the good news about God all over the world rapidly.

That would have been amazing to experience those times, wouldn't it?

To have lived in those moments of history.

But the thing is this, there is no need for regret.

The good news is this, God actually has even greater plans for us.

God actually has even greater things in store for this generation and for his church today.

God wants more, much more than we have yet experienced as a church.

God has a great and wonderful plan for his church.

God's intention for us is that we will live through the most epic time in history.

Maybe the cross, I guess it's hard to beat that, but at least, except for that, you know, time, you know, Jesus, like the most epic time in history.

He wants us to experience, to live through the climax of the history of this planet.

He wants us to be part, we heard a little bit about it yesterday, part of hastening and ushering in the second coming as Peter talks about, as Ellen White talks about the end of suffering, sorrow, pain and sin.

He wants us to be part of ushering in that.

I love this quote Education 262, Ellen White writes, the heaven-appointed purpose of giving the gospel to the world in this generation, she says, is the noblest that can appeal to any human being.

Now I want us to notice, actually, first my working title for the sermon was This Generation or In This Generation.

She says, to bring the gospel to the world in this generation.

He doesn't want us to spend another 40 years in the wilderness.

He wants us to reach the world in this generation.

He doesn't want us to wait until we get old and get in wheelchairs and die and wait for the next generation.

He wants this generation to finish the work.

He wants us to be part of experience that epic time in history, ushering in the second coming.

God is calling us to something important, to something meaningful and I think young people, when we are working with young people, that is something that appeals to young people.

Part of something grand, something important, something meaningful.

But then the big question, the great question is this.

This is something I believe we should honestly pray about.

Like, God, how can we find, how can this happen?

This is something we should earnestly study about, and that's basically what we'll be doing in this message.

And so for the rest of the time I will be speaking here, I want to share, obviously you could spend much more time on it, but I want to share 5 things, 5 keys that I believe are important that will make a big difference when it comes to 5 keys to reach the world in this generation, basically.

I might have to skip 1 or shorten it a bit.

But we have some powerful stuff that I look forward to sharing.

But the first key is this, that I want to share, is be like Caleb.

Listen to this quote from the Spirit of Prophecy.

Caleb's are most needed in the churches today.

And she also writes another place, Testimonies 5, 129.

Caleb's are the men most needed in these last days.

We need Caleb's, not only guys, but also females that emulate Caleb in many ways.
