The Omega of Apostasy, Part 2

Let me begin with prayer and then we'll start to talk about some interesting things.

Just ask that you would be here, that your spirit would give us understanding.

Lead and guide us as we search for truth in our lives and as we search for the work that you've given us to do.

I really appreciate the message last night, you know, that we have to know where we are in history in order to know what to do.

I think it was Luther who said he knew the end wasn't going to be for at least 300 years.

So he knew He didn't have to go out and warn everybody, Jesus is coming soon.

He didn't have to do that because he knew where he was in history.

It's to know where you are today, because that defines your ministry.

And today we know that Jesus is in the most holy place.

And the atonement, by the way, continues.

People look back 2, 000 years and they say the atonement was complete.

What's happening in the in the most holy place today, we're told in the spirit of prophecy, is just as important and is just as a part of the atonement as was his death on the cross.

I'll tell you, No other Christian church has that view.

And most Adventists don't have that view because they haven't studied in the spirit of prophecy and learned it.

And that's why it's even, you know, the Ford theology comes along and gets accepted in the church, to the extent that it was accepted 25 years ago, that the atonement was complete, that nothing's really happening in the most holy place.

We misinterpreted those texts in Hebrews.

I tell you, Satan wants to take the message that we have, I was just telling some folks here, and destroy it because he knows when we give the message that God has for us to give, his life ends.

So he is frantic to prevent us from accomplishing our goals.

His whole life is focused on stopping the Seventh-day Adventist Church from giving the message to the world that we need to give.

Whether you hear our name out there or not, everything he does is focused on us because he knows we are the ones and the message we have to give which is the message of righteousness by faith it is right it is in cooperation that angel was pointing to the you know to the sanctuary in heaven and answer when he said in verity you know there was an angel that was pointing to the temple in heaven where Jesus was standing when that answer was given.

It is the message of righteousness by faith.

But righteousness by faith is cooperating with the Lord in the most holy place in his ministry right now.

That's why the temple of God is open in heaven, Revelation 11 19.

That's the central text in the book of Revelation.

All right, the temple of God was opened in heaven and the Ark of His Covenant was seen.

This is everything, Christ's ministry and the most holy, that's what it's all about.

Anyway, okay, I want to share I think 4 stories and That's why we don't need overheads.

The first 1 I mentioned about Ken Holland.

This is kind of the story of this book because it's so miraculous in so many ways.

Like I said, I'm not a writer, but the Lord had me do this.

I shared the first story with John Lupins and how the Lord used Danny Striever.

He was doing all of this without me ever speaking to him.

I never met the man, but he got involved in the way that he got involved and was the 1 responsible for having the book actually come out.

But I want to go back to Hilton Head and those 10 years and Ken telling me, Rick, you got to write a book about this, you know.

And it wasn't specifically about spiritual formation.

It was about spiritualism, just because of the experiences that I had.

And Ken died about 7 years ago maybe, and it was about a year later And I was in my office on my knees praying, just praying, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, comes, Rick, you got to write a book about this.

I'm not saying, I don't know what it was.

I don't know if it was a voice or whatever, but it didn't originate in my mind, you know what I'm saying?

And I knew that God was telling me, I have to do this.

All right, Well, I got up and I started to do it right there.

That morning, I went and I got my notes and books and files and everything, my desk was piled up like this.

And I'm starting to go through things, you know, and wondering what is it exactly, you know, does God want me to write about this whole, you know, spiritualism in our church, you know, and the Alpha and the Omega, and somebody walks into the foyer of the church, I hear them, And then I see flashes.

So I said to myself, I got to get up and go out and greet these people.

I finally got involved studying this subject.

But I went out there and I met these folks and they said, oh what a beautiful church, you know, do you mind if we just walked around and took some pictures and, you know, so I showed them around a little bit and told them that I would be in the office if they wanted to come by, needed anything, and they went around for, I don't know, 10, 15 minutes taking pictures.

I'm in there, sitting at my desk, studying, and I look up and here is 1 of the ladies.

1 of the ladies is standing in the doorway with her hand up on the door jamb like this, just kind of looking at me.

And I look up, and I knew what she was thinking, because if you would have seen my desk, you would have thought the same thing, that I needed to be committed somewhere.

But, you know, she said, what are you doing?

And I said, well, actually I've started to study to write a book that's long overdue.

And I said, well, not thinking she would know what it was about.

I said, it's about the alpha and the omega.

And she says, oh, we need a book about that.

And she walks over, puts her hand out, and says, my name is so-and-so, and I'm the vice president of Pacific Press.

And on the very morning that I finally started writing this book, this lady then spent the next hour and a half with me just telling me what I needed to know about writing a book in the Adventist Church you know and she knew Ken Holland was great friends with Ken this is the first time she ever set foot in this church.

And she was passing through from London to California, all right, and she just stopped in Hilton Head and walked into this church on the very morning.

You see how I knew, Lord really wants me to write this book, I guess.

And I'm getting concerned because I'm all alone doing this and I'm saying to myself, here I am writing this book, I've never written a book before, nobody knows who Rick Howard is, and to bring a message like this to the church, that there's this great deception being taught at the seminary.

And I realized that, you know, God, there has to be others.

When you bring a message like this to your church, it's not gonna be through 1 person.

And I know from the Spirit of Prophecy, this is the way the Lord does it.

You know, I mean, it wasn't just William Miller.

There were people all over the world that were coming to the same conclusions.

So I prayed and I said, Lord, I have to know that there are others out there, that it's not just me doing this.

You must be speaking to other people's hearts in our church about this deception.

And I said, you've got to have them contact me.

And Lord, you have to have them contact me.
