Gracious Father in heaven, Lord, we thank you so much for the time that we were able to spend together.

And we ask and we hope and pray that anything and everything that we've learned in, whether it be this seminar or in other seminars or throughout GYC, Lord, may we take away something with us so that this upcoming year 2025 will be even more awesome than 2024.

That we will be much more like Jesus in the upcoming year than we were today.

We love you and we thank you all these things we pray in Jesus name.

I'm Assuming that some of you are here for the first time, that's okay, welcome.

I just, I can't review the whole thing, but we finished off talking about how the cross leads us to thankfulness and how we should be thankful in all circumstances.

Psalm, please open your Bible to, if you have your Bible or your Bible apps, let's go to Psalm 137.

Okay, Psalms is in the middle of your Bible, open in half, It should be there for most of you anyway.

Psalm 137, Psalm 137 verse 1, it says here, By the rivers of Babylon there we sat down, yea we wept, when we remember Zion.

For some of you who are reading this, you know there's probably a melody that's going in the back of your mind.

You know, it's an old song, or by the rivers of Babylon.

So that's probably where you know this psalm from.

And that's where I don't, that's not where I'm trying to focus here.

So he's sad, he's weeping by the rivers of Babylon.

Now we come to verse 8, it says, O daughter of Babylon, O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed.

Happy is the 1 who repays you as you have served us.

Verse 9, happy is the 1 who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.

That part is not something that we talk about that we mention in our sermons.

Because Psalms is a prayer book, so every Psalm is a prayer book basically.

I'll read that again, I'll read that again.

Happy is the 1 who takes and dashes your little ones, not the enemies, but the little ones of the enemies, against the Rock.

The reason that I'm starting off with this, you know, we've been talking about the cross and how we should not just know the content of the gospel, that We should think about the gospel, we should think about the cross of Jesus, and not only that, we should join with Jesus on the cross, and we should die to self, and that should lead us to thankfulness, and that should lead us to humility, and so on and so forth.

When you're doing your devotions, you get up early in the morning or whenever you're doing your devotions, you open up your Bible, you're there with the Lord 1 on 1, it's easy to die to self when you're doing your devotions.

When you're listening to the morning devotions here at GYC and you listen to the awesome sermons throughout GYC and at the final charge, the final charge will be amazing, I don't know who's doing it, but he or she is gonna give you an amazing charge and you'll be like hallelujah, I'm surrendering myself to the Lord and I'm giving myself here I die with Jesus Christ.

It's going to be easy to do that when you're receiving the final charge okay but again when it comes to your daily life and your boss is giving you a difficult time and your co-worker is just just getting on your nerves your child your children or or your spouse or whoever it may be is giving you a hard time and you're like, it's difficult to die to self in those moments.

So we've been talking about thankfulness and let's go to Ephesians chapter 5 and verse 20.

All things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Submitting to 1 another in the fear of God.

Giving thanks to God for all things and at all times.

However, let's go to the previous chapter now, Ephesians chapter 4.

He says, give thanks in all things, in every situation, all the time.

But we come to Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 26, okay?

I don't know what version you have, but read the first 2 words there together on the count of 3123.

It says, be angry and it says, be angry and do not sin.

In Ephesians chapter 5, it says, hey, be thankful in all situations for everything, but in the previous chapter he says, hey, be angry.

And then he says, what's the next word there?

Do not let the sun go down on your wrath.

And then Paul's gonna do something quite strange again.

He says here, let all bitterness, wrath, and what's the third item there?

Anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice.

So Previously in chapter 26, Paul says, hey, be angry.

So does he want us to be angry or does he not want us to be angry?

Now when Paul is writing be angry and do not angry, he's actually quoting from the Old Testament.

Psalms that we don't mention in our pulpits.

But we as Adventists, we are not only sola scriptura, we're also tota scriptura.

We believe in the inspiration of all scriptures, amen?

So Psalm 4-4, it says here, the Psalm of David, it says, be angry and do not sin.

So the Bible, David and Paul are both not against us being angry in and of itself.

Right, when somebody gives you a hard time, says be angry, but don't sin.

Let's try to find out what the mechanism is.

I don't know what your versions say, but in the Hebrew, what it says is, it says talk within yourself.

Talk within your heart, on your bed, and then be still, zip.

Okay, lie on your bed, talk within your heart, And then be still.
