Ivor Myers Sermons Fixed, a.k.a. Chipmunk No More!

1m read
A few weeks after we began posting the Restoration 2007 sermons by Pastor Ivor Myers, we were alerted that in some cases the sermons would play in super-fast-forward speed, so that Pastor Ivor sounded like a chipmunk. It's fixed now. If you downloaded the MP3's to your hard drive, they are fine. The problem only occurred when playing those sermons directly from our embedded Flash MP3 player.

Okay, if you really want to know the geeky side of things, it's because the Restoration sermons were encoded with Variable Bit-Rate (VBR) technology, which our Flash player unfortunately doesn't handle well. Constant Bit-Rate (CBR) is what all of our other sermons are encoded with, which works just fine with our Flash player and is better for streaming audio anyway.

The problem came when we neglected to remember and tell our volunteer who encoded the Restoration sermons about this fact. We apologize for the inconvenience.
