What We Learned in 2020

What a year it's been.

I think you know what I mean when I say that 2020 felt like an eternity but also a blink of an eye at the same time. It’s been an eventful year to say the least, and life as we know it will never be the same again. Many people are eager to put the collective trauma that is 2020 behind them, but before we hasten to bid this year good-bye, what have we learned that we can take into the new year with us?

Here are a few things that I’ve learned this year:

  • I’ve learned that “flattening the curve” doesn’t merely refer to a new year’s resolution after we’ve eaten too much for the holidays.
  • I’ve learned that our health message is more relevant today than ever.
  • I’ve learned that our spiritual PPE (aka the Armor of God) is far more important than the physical masks and gowns.
  • I’ve learned that “clean hands” are as important in heaven as on Earth. (Ps. 24:3,4)
  • I’ve learned that angels flying in the midst of heaven sounds like “Zoom”.
  • I’ve learned that I’d like to have more “social distance” from Satan and instead to have Jesus “shelter in place” in my heart.
  • I’ve learned that the best kind of “community spread” is the spreading of the Gospel.
  • I’ve learned that there will be a global pandemic of the righteousness of God where the earth will be lightened with His glory. (Rev. 18:1)
  • And most of all, I’ve learned—and am absolutely convinced—that this world cannot last much longer and that means Jesus is coming soon!

2021 will be here before we know it, and we know that time is short for us to finish the work. While we all hope for a reprieve after the challenges of 2020, we know prophetically that things will get worse before they get better. So while there’s still an opportunity, may we must press forward with the work that Jesus has given us to do!

I invite you to partner with AudioVerse today with a year-end gift to help us carry the light onward into 2021. It will be one way to help 2021 get off to better start than how 2020 has gone, because your support will play a pivotal role in bringing the saving message of Christ’s Everlasting Gospel to a world that needs it more than ever. There’s absolutely no time to waste.
