current Hebrews chapter two verse nine we see that Jesus was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering and death as he was crowned with glory and honor that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man for a week left off last week and if you think about that in the previous verses we see that man was made a lower than the angels of verse nine Jesus was made a little lower than the angels and one of the contrast that you can see here is that one God made man it wasn't his intention that man should die the man's son and then of course the wages of sin are death but the purpose for one of the purposes for Jesus becoming a man was for the suffering of death as I mentioned briefly last week in order for Jesus to die in Adam he was not subject to death until visa once he said he was subject to death and if Jesus had come in the nature of Adam before the fall his nature would not have been subject to death so in order for them to be subject to death you needed to take a nature that was affected by said that even though he never send it second nature that had been affected by the heat was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man and that gives the idea that when Jesus died he died for every man making it possible for all of us to be saved and so there is no excuse he died for Everyman sort of pickup outbursts and and him we have the microphone him and for questions comments an offer for him reading passages like a volunteer to read versus Panama one of chapter key Hebrew circuits you versus Pamela over here I became him for whom are all things if one whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings verse eleven never thought of you have been for both events they divide that they were sanctified are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren thank you sir there's several things that were to take a look at your verses and allow them serve members spouses for became him for hammer often combine him are all things and bringing many sons of the glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering set one of the purposes we see for Christ becoming a man is to bring many sons of the glory and we talked about this last week that one man was initially created he was crowned with glory and honor and now he man has sentence of Jesus comes to bring back many sons unto glory and how does he do that how does Jesus bring many sons unto glory he looked at the rest of the verses at the Mexico about their salvation perfect through suffering now this is where I'm at went out a couple of other verses like a volunteer should read Hebrews chapter five verses eight and nine same the same flaw here's chapter five verses eighty and nine volunteer birthday is as though he were a son yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered and being made perfect he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey her cat third Hebrew chapter two hours to bring myself of the glory to glory the captain of their salvation should be made perfect through suffering and now one of the Sanhedrin five it says he learned obedience through the things which he suffered and being made perfect he became the author of eternal salvation and all them that obey DC similar language here so we we see the concept of being made perfect through suffering again we see that those who follow him will be saved and Heber 's lifetime makes it even clearer in the he perceives as the Captain of salvation should be made perfect through suffering and through that he brings many sons to glory will he resize it says Jesus one was made perfect through suffering by being over the and that's what made him perfect and because of that he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey himself and if he refuses Jesus is the Captain of our salvation he was chapter five Jesus is called the author of our eternal salvation Captain author basically the same concept and both instances he was made perfect through suffering and both instances many sons are brought to glory now can you think of another place in the book of Hebrews that refers to Jesus as the author in Hebrews chapter twelve and if I can have a volunteer receivers twelve verses one through four Hebrew chapter twelve verses one through four jalopy wherefore seeing we also are become passive that was so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight in the sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God but considering in that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself yes lest he be wearied and cream in your mind you have not yet resisted up into blood striving against Arafat and restructure trauma training at this point about pause high everything together and of connecting back to the beginning of the book but what's before we talk about verses one to four let's remind ourselves where we came from a chapter to chapter five chapter two Jesus is the captain of our salvation he's made perfect through sufferings and through that he brings many found in the glory keeper 's chapter five Jesus learned obedience through suffering he becomes the author of eternal salvation to all who obey so what is that mean to obey him whatever it means and means that you will be one of the sun through our broad and the glory so we want to know what it means to obey Christ is the author of her eternal salvation he's a category 's eternal salvation and he resources this is how you obey Christ the same one he was learned obedience through the things which he suffered so that he became your author of eternal salvation looked at him who's the author and finisher of your faith in order to open they can lay aside her order accurately lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us that what it means to obey so we lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us of what it means to obey God we look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith and we see that he endured the cross despite the shank that's where he learned obedience through suffering in one sense and then inverse forces you have not yet resisted send the blood striving against said that the further development of obeying God resisting sin and the blood Jesus did and he became the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey him and when we obey him just as Jesus resisted some of the blood he was obedient to death we will be the same as so because Jesus became a man and because he was obedient to death he became a captain or the author of set of our salvation if we like Christ's own are obedient to death we lay aside every weight the sinister so easily be says only run Haitians the race that is set before someone gets to keep her twelve again that you can see how the book if he recited everything together throughout the Jesus is the Captain of our salvation he was made perfect through suffering whenever some unorganized and double time here's his first both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren under the law here in this passage so few is it that sanctifies Jesus and who is Jesus he's the Captain of our salvation so what is a man to be sanctified my aside every way in the Somerset so easily beset us run the race with patients that is set before us so Jesus is the one that sanctifies us when we obey him we elected him we the Hebrew 's twelve experience that's what it means to be sanctified and says MS is they who are sanctified so we see how we are sanctified in an and a sense we see is by being made perfect through suffering resisting sent the blood is for both units sanctify us and they who are sanctified are all of one now I want to turn to John chapter seventeen and look at a verse quickly eldest read this myself here in John seventeen verse nineteen Jesus as and for their sakes I sanctify myself that they also might be sanctified through the trees so Jesus was sanctified and then because of that we can be sanctified CC that John seventeen regum Q there's more uses for both units sanctify us and they who are sanctified are all of now when it says that Jesus he sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one who was the one referring to if you think about this Jesus is the one who sanctifies we hear the one you are sanctified and we are all of one now think about this in the previous verse Jesus was made perfect through sufferings in order to bring men from the center glory at Hebrew chapter one Jesus is described as the first begotten of the father Jesus is the first begotten of the father he brings many sons of the glory therefore because he brings many sons and the glory he's the first begotten but the sun who are brought to glory are also begotten second third fourth fifth and so on so when he sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one they are all of the father Jesus is the first begotten son of God according to Hebrews one we see that certifies that the resurrection and the sons who are brought under glory are also the begotten and he responses that we should be heirs of salvation and Romans eight it's as though through the heirs of the sons of God so all this is saying is that we are all begotten of the father when we become partakers of the salvation that Christ offers us now this is where I find things interesting verse eleven the last half of the verse says for which cause because we are all of one we are sanctified he sacrifices for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren now think of a passage in the Bible where Jesus speaks about brethren those you are his brother turned in March after three and I want to volunteer to read Mark chapter three verses thirty two to thirty five Mark chapter three verses thirty three to thirty five are down here in the multitude sat about him and they said unto him behold thy mother and my brother and with without seeks they be and he answered them saying who is my mother who my brother and able to roundabout them any set about him and said behold my brother and my brother and for this survey shall do the will of God the same is my brother and my sister and my mother had a story Jesus broader than of matter concerned about what Jesus or Darren I can't do try to tell him again to follow the traditions of man Jesus knows that together go out and talk to them face he asked the question to our my brethren and in verse thirty five what does he say what is he say about who his brethren are those who do the will of God now check the first Thessalonians chapter four verse three first Thessalonians chapter four verse three public volunteer to read first Thessalonians four versus three so what is a man to do the will of God so that those here the brethren of Christ do the will of God and what is the will of God versus alliance for research right back there this is the will of God even your sanctification that you should abstain from fornication okay so what is the will of God your first Thessalonians four verse three sanctification so who are the brethren I is you are sanctified and he receivers eleven shows that clearly Jesus is not ashamed to call those you are sanctified his brother who are those you are sanctified those are made perfect through sufferings those who obey Christ the author of eternal salvation those you run with patience the race of the form they lay aside every weight the sellers that so easily beset them they resist some of the blood this is the will of God say are those you are sanctified they are the brethren of Christ they are sanctified so Jesus calls those who are sanctified his brethren now if he calls if you call someone your brother and humans is that major related to each other so that you are sanctified are the brethren of Christ so if you look at him going on here verse twelve Jesus is saying that you are sanctified are my brethren so we are related in a spiritual sense the Christ and verse twelve he says saying I was thank you I will be flared by name unto my brethren in the Methodist Church was saying praise under the number thirteen and again I will put my trust in and again behold I and the children which God has given me know Christ declares the name of us which are his brethren to his brethren in the church and numbers thirteen he comes back to thing I will do my trust in him he's speaking of the father and when Jesus put his trust in the father speaking of this humanity and memory says behold I am the children which God has given me sure the children here in verse thirteen of Hebrews chapter key all of a sudden there were children comes up for the first time and we been talking about this concept of those your spiritually related to Christ so who are the children the brethren so does your sanctified are brethren and he calls us his brother and entity says that where children service children and brethren and a sense spiritually speaking mean the same thing with respect to Christ it's a spiritual relationship because he is bringing many sons and the glory see if they were the children of God because were the sons of God and those you are sanctified are also called his brother so Jesus says these are my brethren these are my children this is an important point because what we set shown so far is that Jesus is made perfect through suffering and to bring many sons and the glory and those shoe obeyed him are his children or are his sons and those you are sanctified are his brethren so when we come to verse thirteen and he calls us his children these are the same as his brethren these are the same that do the will of God and that's a key point to understand in verse fourteen so I like to volunteer Sarid verse Fort verses fourteen and fifteen of the reciprocating right back here he restructure key verses fourteen and fifty census children have flesh and blood he too shared in their humanities so that by his dad he might destroy him who holds the power of death that is the devil and free those who are all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death trap the chapter chapter Joubert fourteen make use of for as much than of the children who are the children are often his brethren forth much then as the children who are his brethren these are letters to do the will of God these are those who are sanctified for as much of the children are partakers of flesh and blood out of forests he also himself likewise shared heart of the same now eight ways this Paul need to say the same thing he also himself likewise took part of the same speaking of Jesus what are the children partakers of their partakers of flesh and blood what is Jesus he also himself likewise took part of the same flesh and blood and who are the children again those who are sanctified through Jesus just as the children her saxophone a particular flesh and blood he also himself likewise shared part of the same and the rest of the verses that through death he might destroy him that have the power of death that is the devil and this comes back to the point of verse nine the Jesus became a man for the suffering of death in order for Jesus to die and does she destroy can you have the power of death he needed dear partaker of flesh and blood and again if you check the flesh and blood of Adam before the fall Adam before the fall was not subject to death after the fall obviously he was Christ then takes the nature of man after the fall so he is subject to death so even though he doesn't son he as a human being is subject to death because of the nature that he is taken and if you get a first Corinthians fifteen you can show that the grave could not keep Christ there because Christ did not send as is the sting of death is sin so Christ never sent to the grave couldn't hold and because he lived a perfect life when he died he destroyed the devil you have the power over death so that all those you die in Christ will not stay in the grade so there is so there's some good news here and she levels your Christ's became a partaker of flesh and blood in the same manner that his children are those your sanctified and he destroyed the W at the power over death and Ashley Masri 's closet in a statement that he destroyed death since he destroyed him have the power of death that is the double subject so you deliver them you refute creature fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage I want some under read then verses sixteen through eighteen if he restricted she keep such achievers the sixteenth routine continuing in that this concept of the humanity of Christ the receptive seed versus sixteen through eighteen okay I say unto you also talk I really took not on him the nature health and jobs but he took on him the seed of a barn oilcloth in all things behold then him back on please went and that he might be a master phone and fit for high point in things pertaining to God to make reconciliations for this in some of the auto of the people find that he himself suffered a being tent that is a bong 's is about to Socko then got out and got upset thank you sir speaking of Christ and ever sixteen of those for verily he checked on him the nature of angels but he checked on him the seed of Abraham now with Abraham born for the follower after the fall of uniform after the fall obviously the Jesus took on him the seed of Abraham so if the first one the number seven seed comes back to this conflict we can talk about who are the brethren of Christ was review that point briefly in verse eleven of chapter Q sister but he has sanctified us and they are sanctified are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren to who are the brethren that you are sanctified and Matt March three we saw that you don't do the will of God are his brother in first Thessalonians four verse three says the will of God as your sanctification so those you are sanctified are the brethren of Christ Amber seven she has assisted in how many points with Jesus made like his brethren who are sanctified and how many points was in all points so Jesus was made in all points like his brethren and you are is rather in that you are sanctified here's another question those who are sanctified today do they have an on fall honor of fallen nature ever fallen nature but those you are sanctified are doing the will of God their following God they are sanctified so there lies are under the control of the Holy Spirit so Jesus he was made in all things like his brethren so Jesus and you can read this and end the book of Luke uses the Holy Spirit came over Mary Jesus was the only thing so you can make the point that Jesus was born from the very beginning under the control of the holy spirit and yet he had the same flesh and blood that we have Yeltsin himself likewise took part of the same and yet he was under the control of the Holy Spirit we are not when we are born and inevitably we choose the sand with them when we are want again and come under the control of the Holy Spirit and with a sanctified wife at that point there is no difference between us in Christ we have a fallen nature but is under the control of the Holy Spirit Christ out of fallen nature that was under the control of the Holy Spirit from the very beginning serve Christ of all major that was under the control of the Holy Spirit from the very beginning and we have a fallen nature that's under the control of the Holy Spirit after we are born again here's the question how are we tempted after we come under the control of the Holy Spirit do we never get shunted again are we white centered externally by things that only centers on the outside or do we have temptations that come from the inside as well obviously we have temptations from the inside so Christ was made in all things like his brethren who are sanctified so yes he's under the control of the Holy Spirit that he still has the same conclusion that we have so many relievers chapter four fifteen of sixteen says he was attempted in all points like as we are yet without some the Bible in all points like as we are afforded me it doesn't say it all forth like as we are externally yet without cynicism and all point like as we serve Jesus was made in Beach Haven to be made Mike and his brethren in all things and why was he in all things made like yours brother says that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God to make reconciliation for the some of the people so what kind of a high priest you want to Jesus is merciful and faithful and he can be merciful and faithful because he understands what it's like to be a human being he knows that the frailties and the weaknesses that are common to man Jesus particularized himself and because of that he can be merciful to us and he can be faithful to us and anniversary campuses because he hath suffered being tempted he is able to suck or them with me to help them better except it said he was tempted in all points like as we are and because of that notice she suffered being tempted so he knows that's indeed scented is to suffer I never stress tests and thirteen assists there is no temptation that is taken even if such as is common to man but God will with the temptation medical waiver ever you may be able to bear up a merciful and faithful high priest he's merciful because he does not allow you to be tempted above that which you are able to he was a human being and he knows to the power of God what you can handle on what you can as so because of that she is a merciful and faithful high priest and with his ministry as a high trees he makes it possible for us to overcome the temptations that we face that's why when you come to the resort we come boldly to the throne of grace she obtained mercy from her merciful high priest and grace the fine help in time of need and Jesus helps us to overcome he was comfortable with but as we are yet without sin so if you wonder why the nature of Christ is such a controversy of topics in the Adventist church anymore because the devil knows that if you understand that Jesus was truly a human being that's the key to receiving help to overcome sin in your life and the devil knows that if it is God 's people attain victory over son 's begin games over here on the service and so one of the things that he's going to attack is an understanding of the humanity of Christ so that we will lose the proper concept of how to receive help from God to overcome cinema why and if the devil can do that he can about delay the sealing of God 's servants in Revelation seven and now the way the four Wednesday unleashed out of the way the second coming up with a lot more time to do his work hero Mister so if you wonder why this is controversial that's why I believe it is that the truth of the matter is the Bible makes it very clear and whatever other people may want to say about the humanity of Christ it's good enough for me one the Bible says in all things it behaved and to be made like his brother he was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin I'll see how you get around and made us good news why would it be bad news but Jesus made in all things like us and gives an example that's why we can look to him as the author and finisher of our faith in Hebrews twelve because he ran the same race because he ran it we can run and that's why the hundred and forty four thousand in Revelation fourteen follow the Lamb whithersoever he gave us because they learn to look to Jesus the author and finisher of their faith leave a comment in the back here we could write back there is interesting it says suffered being tempted we think of the suffering of Christ on the cross and in other places as a result of physical and mental anguish that he went through this is an talking about that type of suffering is just talking about suffering being tempted again which tells us in regards to the nature that he was Adam and have the capacity to before the fall to be tempted from within your but he also made it clear by saying I came not to do my own well write the well of him he sent me so he made a distinction there in what you said about this being a key is very clear first Peter chapter four verses one and two of them together make that a reaction I had to go investment the diary never showed along with all your sensitive frontier farmers versus wanted to speaking of how Christ was suffered vintage and thank you very much for that first Peter chapter four verses one him off the forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flash arm yourselves likewise with the same mind for he that have suffered in the flesh of deceased friends that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the left of man but to the will of God and notices where did Christ suffered this is Christ to suffer for us in the flash as his arm yourselves likewise with the same flash does arm yourselves likewise with the same mind which remind us of the consumer side of this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus was the mind of Christ he suffered being tempted so where is the temptation mine and that's not external that's internal that's where Christ's suffering and that's why Christ said if it be possible let this cup pass from me that mom might will but thine be done unless the will of what sanctification doing the will of God Jesus does the will of God and those you are sanctified will also do the will of God which can involve suffering six thank you very much for that common we had a comment on here as well if we could get the microphone will dictate the polls results to be coming to that was the first reason Romans it's very beneficial along with the study will we see here is Jesus the one element by which God is able to bring about the good news of salvation as human beings that's the union of divinity with his humanity rather being described there without the union that would be lost that this is the one person of Jesus Christ or we find the gospel word God and humanity are brought together in one this is what it means when it says that we are all brought together in one year there were all of one old one now all of one thank you very much so so that's the rich efforts she is now for those of you men out a further time we see that with the salvation of man we see divinity and humanity coming together to us to bring salvation and yeah and first Peter Rob sorry I think it's the computer chapter one that we become partakers of the divine nature so we don't want to become sanctified we understand a fallen human nature we become partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through us now chapter one a shown us that Jesus is God chapter two is shown us that Jesus is a man and that he was completely man and that is his humanity is the sameness a sanctified fallen human beings as someone with a fallen nature who is sanctified in the will of God and because of those two things Jesus is qualified to be our high priest he's able to help those who are tempted and when you get to chapter three verse one and where it were not and if you furniture pretreated just to show you how Paul ties chapter one and chapter two together to the beginning of chapter three it says in verse one wherefore holy brethren who are the brethren that you are sanctified and the one where for me because of my subchapter one and chapter two wherefore holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling consider the apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Jesus here's an interesting point we are called to consider the apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Jesus and he rich while this is for him you can who endured such contradiction of sinners against the lessee be wearing insanity and in your mind give not yet resistance than in the blood striving against the here were told that considers down to is the apostle and high Priest of our profession is interesting this is the only place in the Scripture that at least that I'm aware of the crisis called the apostle is also called the high priest of our profession now what's interesting as he's referred to here as Christ Jesus have one thing in a Landry is important on his book the book of Hebrews and if you don't have this but you should get it the name Jesus refers to Jesus in his humanity and the name Christ refers to him and his divinity so when you get to chapter three verse one to the apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Jesus chapter one a Shaughnessy 's divine chapter to show the fused man chapter three responses Christ Jesus he's got an easement is the God man Christ Jesus that qualifies in to be the apostle and high Priest of our profession and I'm thankful that we have an apostle and high Priest of our profession and the next thing that that Paul is going to do that you can compare Christ analysis but when he's effectively done to the Hebrews of his time is it in the first century he sang what you have Jesus Christ you came and died on the cross and he was truly a man and he was truly God he's really the apostle of our profession so don't let the Moses anymore look to Christ and him you need to get itself on a more sissy with a high priest is doing in the Temple in Jerusalem because Christ is the high Priest of our profession and because of our others outflank in the Temple in Jerusalem anymore at the Jews got that point they wouldn't be tied down to Jerusalem in seventy A.D. when the Roman army share so this is a cheap form so Jesus is the apostle and the high priest of our profession about Elvis keep going here until they stop the thing is so starting in verse to his as he was faithful to him the appointed as also Moses was faithful in all his house this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses inasmuch as he who have double the house sophomore honor them now notice this Paul is not cutting down Moses here to send what Moses was faithful in all his house he was a great man that Christ is better and in chapter one Christ was better than the Angels chapter three crisis better than most of them actually check acute Christ is a better man than any other members ever been to crisis better than the Angels chapter one crisis better than any other management achieved in chapter three crisis better than most and he is counted worthy of more glory than Moses and this is an important point the Jews needed to understand that Christ is better than Moses don't want to the Mosaic law what Christ and we will continue this concept next week as we get through chapter three chapter three is a pretty quick chapter that think about these things crisis truly God crisis truly man and this is what we look to for our eternal salvation he is the author return salvation to thank you and we will continue next week with the restructuring
