him everyone can see you here again to allow him award affirmative started on a heavenly thank you for bringing us together for prayer meeting the printout as we study from Romans five you would give us a special blessing as we seek to understand the strategies is last week we did drum instructor for an tonight we're going to hear through Grumman 's chapter five Ross Chapter five is sometimes misunderstood as far as some of the things that follow things were going were going to go through some of that tonight I will hopefully give them a better understanding of the whole concept of righteousness by faith those starting in verse one verse one of Romans chapter five pulses as they are for being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ so it's chapter five verse one starts off with the word therefore which names the what he has said in previous verses is how he proves what justification by faith is so where's Paul fruit what justification by faith as of the end of Romans chapter three in Romans chapter four and so Ross chapter five verse one policy because of white shirt Romans three and Romans four that's what it means to be justified by faith and I hope that you got PI dear or the concept of how beautiful justification by faith is only one through the interim three and when we went to Rome Chapter four and if you look at the end of Romans three and if you look at Romans chapter four you see that justification by faith is linked to the faith of Jesus Christ's it's linked to believing in God as creator for to create a new life in us I want to point out again just one point from last week so this is clear in Romans chapter four verse three says Abraham believed God and it was counted and him for righteousness to be counted righteous is to be justified and then in Romans four verse twenty three as is therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness as you go through the passages you see the Abraham was you against hope believe and hope he was not weakened faith we consider not somebody did he was strong in faith he was fully persuaded that what God promised he was able also to prefer one so Abraham had a face that was slowly persuaded that what God said he would do you and nurses therefore it was imputed to him for righteous so because Abraham was fully persuaded that what God promised he was able to perform he had righteousness imputed and the thing that caused Abraham to be fully persuaded based on Genesis fifteen we studied this last week is one God said amount showed him this birth social my CB Abraham then believe because he remembered that when God 's spoke the world came into existence when God says his word has creative power so if God says that Abraham and Sarah have a child in another past childbearing age because he says Abraham believes because he knows God for his creative power he was fully persuaded therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness and it was that it and just another point is it was as if Abraham believed in the nothing ever happened or nothing ever changed he and Sarah actually had a child when it was humanly impossible for that take place so God 's word did accomplish what it said it would accomplish so we said we studied out last week and really Romans for the cost of the phase of the Rams powerful and then if you look at verses twenty three twenty four twenty five we see okay Abraham he's the father of the faithful righteousness was imputed to him because he was fully persuaded that verse twenty three is as now was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed so that we see the good news of the gospel coming out for a fondness for Abraham first twenty four but for us also to whom it shall be impeded if we believe that Abraham believed what it mean for Abraham to believe he was fully persuaded that what God promised he was able to perform so what does it mean for us to believe to be fully persuaded him what God says is not is the belief in something abstract with no change in our lives if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead who is delivered for offenses and was raised again for our justification for notices if we believe he believes on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the as for believing on God who raised that Jesus from the dead so what happens there God has resurrecting the raises of Jesus from the dead and the concept of that is linked in Romans six verse four voices therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death so why does Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of life so what are we believing when we believe on hand to raise that Jesus our Lord from the dead were believing that he will raise us up to walk in newness of life we know our life may have been dead in trespasses and sin just as Abraham and Sarah were physically dead to have another child he may be dead in trespasses and sins and spiritually speaking it's impossible to live a new life in of ourselves however if we believe on God he raised up Jesus from the dead he will raise us up spiritually speaking to walk in newness of life and just as Abraham believed what he believed he was fully persuaded that what God promised he would perform we are fully persuaded that God because of heat because he is all-powerful will give us a completely new law we will no longer live a life dead in trespasses and sends we will live a life victorious in Christ so that's what it means to say if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead it was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for a justification that sort of an interesting side point Jesus was raised again for our justification that means that across the complete her justification if he was raised again for our justification the Jesus is raised again for a justification he has to have a area to the heavenly sanctuary in Afghanistan sanctuary theology the final justification will take place within the gods people are blotted out which is why Revelation twenty he says he that is unjust let him be unjust still if it is righteous let him be righteous still that's at the end of the judgment so that's what Jesus was raised therefore so that on the basis of that chapter five responses therefore being justified by faith what is a mini justified by faith to have righteousness imputed to us and those you have righteousness imputed to them are those you believe and are fully persuaded that God will raise us up to walk in newness of life such chapter five verse one we are justified by faith we have heaps with God through our Lord Jesus Christ so that's a wonderful thing to have its uses it is going back to the first few chapters you have Paul really harassed on the concept of the wrath of God that those to sin against God and are living contrary to God 's law matter if the reviewer again matter if you know God and about God or you don't know about God that he will pour out his wrath upon you in the judgment and yet now Paul is saying hey if you're justified by faith you have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ the less good news you go from being under wrath to having peace with God as you think about it the only thing that really matters in this life is to be at peace with God and obviously for peace with God will be at peace with one another now there's a lot more that can be said about that of the bottom line is in order to have keys with God we must be justified by faith in him to be justified by faith we must believe or which also means the synonym for leaving from Romans for his being fully persuaded when the thief fully persuaded that God will raise up to walk in newness of life and just as Abraham when he was fully persuaded it wasn't a something that he believed that happen it actually did happen you see that Abraham was fully persuaded that he would have a child and he did even though it was humanly impossible and forth fully persuaded that God will raise us up to walk in newness of life is not something that will camp is something that will happen to order to be justified when he to be raised up to walk in newness of life and for not wanting in newness of life were not justified and so that's a key theological point that some people so you can be covered by the righteousness of Christ and self-serving and Romans eleven teach that at all it's amazing that people can somehow draw that from the Iran so being justified by faith with peace with God through Jesus Christ first you buy trim also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God now this is an interesting point to when we have justification by faith and we have peace with God we have access and shoot the grace of God and it's in this grace that we stand nothing about this what's Paul talking about here when he says here's handing him this is great as well again if you want to the first three chapters of Romans we will understand that we have all send and come short of the glory of God we are all worthy of God 's wrath in this judgment so the fact that were justified by faith is simply because God has graced upon we don't deserve it so that even though we believe and are fully persuaded that God raises up to walk in newness of life that still doesn't give us any merit to be safe is only God 's grace because God doesn't have to mean God is acquired to save anyone that is only because of his love mercy and grace that any one of us are saved and noticed this when we are justified and when we have access into disgrace this is we stand now that's interesting when we are justifiable posing as we stand in this grace and it reminds me of the Bible sex and you twenty four this is mounted in the table to keep you from falling so we are justified by faith he spent an awful and the other interesting point is in Revelation six at the end of that chapter he says the great day of the wrath of the lambs and crucial be able to stand and that's interesting because Romans talked about the wrath of God and there is a day coming when the wrath of the Lamb will be revealed and then the question will be true is going to be able to stand in the face of the wrath of the land will reference five shows us of those who are justified by faith and Roman set him in Revelation seven tells us that the five hundred and forty four thousand so moving along here so we had him facing this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God continuing on verse three and not only said that we glory in tribulations also knowing that tribulation participation some patients experience and experience oversight and hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us and in whatever first-class lights came to this reverse to make a point about the just living by faith because Romans five responses being justified by faith with peace with God and continues on here verse three serve when we become justified by faith and we are raised up to walk in newness of life his new creatures in Christ we have the question is so what is our life life after that is it just a smooth river that never has any trouble or any any point the tribes or patients or anything like obviously not obviously we give through tribulation which workstations which gives its experience which gives us hope and what's the point of going through tribulation which the developed patients which the developed experience which is undeveloped so if you remember it for those of you in coming along when was just saved with use this as an illustration but say a ten -year-old child repents of their sins gives her life to Jesus Christ and Christ accepts them and they are justified by faith and God gives them the power and the grace in the face to live in they're not obedient to their parents were they were once disobedient and yet they still have so much more to learn Christian experience or you can say the same salad through some say of the fifty five real person you never heard about the other entire life to hear that the good news of the three Angels messages in the Seventh-day Adventist truth all those things and they accept Christ and follow that are justified by faith those people whether the ten euros however the fifty five -year-old spiritual child for the speed they are at a perfect point in their walk with God they are living up to all the life that they have and from that point forward God is going to allow them to pass through the experiences that will strengthen their faith so go through tribulation and that tribulation in some patients that patients will give them experience that experience will give them hope in God and so every time they go through a round of of trials it brings them closer to God and there is the obvious point to be made is this when the time trouble comes in one hundred and forty four thousand passed through that experience are those people justified and obviously they're justified are as they enter what level of their spiritual experience or they have are there to be getting place in the spiritual experience are they at the end full maturity erroneously at the point of full maturity in their experience so what we see in verses three four and five is that we accept Christ by faith we accept his creative power to change your lives and he will do you guess how he does he allows us to pass through try while those trials allow us to gain more faith in his creative power to change your lives and those trials cleanse us from our defects in character we continue to learn more about the defects in our character as through that we gain more patients and more experience so that eventually gobble have taken us from her beginning point of justification and allowed us to go through the trials and tribulations which gives us patience and experience so that will be at a point where he can have a group of people that he can take through the time of trouble because they have patience and experience and they have hope in the glory of God hundred forty four thousand are described as having the patience of the things because they are justified by faith and they've allowed these experiences in life to prepare them for the last x-rays actually I got an e-mail today from someone who's the most kind of this Romans class instead of your listening all mentioned this point so Manasseh the hundred and forty four thousand are going to be at a point through the time trouble but they'll have a certain type of faith and experience maturity that allows them to pass through in their point was what about all the people who died in faith to haven't reached the point of the hundred and forty four thousand are during the time of trouble and my quick answer to that is if you're a Hebrews eleven versus thirty nine and forty and this is a familiar verse that he resources thirty nine forty six and these all having obtained a good report through faith received not the promise God having provided some better thing for us that they without it should not be made for him he studied her for the confidence the pass and in verse forty the Fae are those who died in faith which would include that he was eleven and the are those in Hebrews twelve twenty four to run the race with patients of hundred and forty four thousand have the patience of the say so what's the point these all he was eleven died in the phase but they without us should not be made perfect the enemy a group of people to go through an experience that as we talked about earlier in this study vindicate God 's character at the end of time and it's true that the people in Hebrews eleven nor anyone else who died in faithful say Abraham present he was eleven Abraham didn't isn't going through the time trouble one hundred and forty four thousand years they share the all those who died in phase if they were given the same opportunity as the hundred and forty four thousand they would have had the same experience they would have exercised the same faith if given the opportunity but obviously got could give everyone the opportunity to live in the last days base because people of them born down through time for the hundred and forty four thousand are a special group shoes are a demonstration of what all those who died in faith would have been if it was through that time so again reference viruses three three five shows the tribulation develops our character and it gives secure for that we need to be ready to see Jesus come and continuing on a verse six Paul continues his signs is from when we were yet without strength and use not right side for the ungodly for scarcely for a righteous man will one die yet for adventure for a good man some would even dare to die that God commanded his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us to now Paul is showing us what the you know we really don't deserve this justification that we we really don't deserve disgrace that we have Christ died or us while we were still sent you didn't come in dive for it a bunch of good people he died he died for everyone and he even died for people who won't accept amendment he refuses that he wrote a grace of God should taste death for every man that wasn't the shows us that God is not willing for any to perish so how loving has God Versace is not tremendous his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ and what are human beings like many humans one even die for again let alone a bad person and look across the die for his followers so that shows us how loving God is much more than being now justified by his blood we shall be saved from wrath through the what's Paul saying here in verse nine we've been justified by his blood and the good news about that is if we've been justified by his blood we will be saved from wrath through and there is the concept again of the wrath of God chapters one two and three we see that those who are sending will receive the wrath of God that those who are justified by his blood will be safe him through verse ten for if when we were enemies we are reconciled to God by the death of his son much more being reconciled we shall be saved by his life for centuries and were justified by his blood were saved by his life so that shows us that yes were saved by the blood of Christ because you won't be finishing unjustified but not only are we saved by the blood were also saved by his life and wife the because is his life that gives us the example is Howard to continue to live the justifiable we would need when it would even be possible for us to be justified if he had died and shed his blood but in order to live a justified life we need the power of his life numbers eleven and not only said that we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have now received the town so the good news of the Gospels through the blood of Christ we've received the atonement are the marginal reading his reconciliation and of course if he study the concept of the installment in the century service it was made on the David's the end of it around the tent in the seventh month of the Jewish year and as Seventh-day Adventists we clearly believe that the finalists will be made in the cleansing in the sanctuary at the end of the judgment verse twelve wherefore as by one man centered in the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for that all have sent now this is where things get a little bit interesting in Romans five the first eleven versus Paul sort of wraps up this concept of being justified by faith chapter one he gives an introduction of any should say that the Gentiles of the world you don't know God or deny the existence of gathered face the wrath of God chapter shoot he shows that the Jews you know about God this breaks the law of God anyway that's us today so that their drivers receive the wrath of God chapter three he shows us that the flash the human flesh nationally tends to wander from God because of that we've all sent therefore we are all facing the judgment of God and then he starts to give the concept of the righteousness by faith at the end of chapter three and then Romans four years as an example of someone who lived a righteous life I faced a kind altogether here in chapter five first eleven verses in them the rest of the chapter here he's going to show he can assume we have okay you've read so far that there is you are sending against God it can receive the wrath of God hates God 's God sent his son to die for us we can still be saved through family can receive his righteousness as you believe it look to Abraham he was a righteous life by faith followed and then in chapter five he basically takes the argument that well you know that's nice Abraham was enough to write by faith that on you know I'm a child is adamant because of this about equipment so I can't really I can't do it and the rest of chapter five what Paul is crooning is what Adam may have had an effect on all of us but because of what Christ has done there's no excuse to let Adams have an effect on you and what he's saying is yes Adam had an effect on all of humanity because the all are subject to the fee has anonymous but for ice because of what he did has been consensual to have a greater effect on humanity than Adam 's effect on humanity so and Alan Weiss says that Christ is the second Adam and Christ as the second Adam he died for all he received clearly shows that and because of that there is consensual for a greater effect on humanity through Christ and the effect and so that's what Paul doesn't so you get this comparison basically what Paul does and this actually starts in verse fifteen where you'll see his poll shows that if this is what Adam did to us this is what Christ the source this is where Adam deduced this is what crisis for an window when you understand in that sense then you're not going to get confused by John the ideas that some people get confused by some people use Romans five to try to prove original sin of all sorts of things like the enough power Romans five is teaching so first twelve wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death bison and so death passed upon all men for that all have sent soon one man's through one man Simpson enters into the world and notice I was in the wages of sin is death so because Adams and we are subject to death analysis assisted death passed upon all men for the all have sent a notice of the safer the all were born since all have said so what this is telling us is that hey Adamson and because we use and we die as well and it him until chapter eighteen alternative briefly Ezekiel chapter each team the Bible so forth this concept starting in verse four of easy delete sentences behold all falls are mine as the soul of the father so for the soul of the son of my missile that sent us additional die the minute you go on down in verse twentieth says the soil this unofficial die the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father is neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the sun the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon so first twentieth utility cancels work as the sun is not going to pay the telly for us to send that his father committed and so what I would say is that if is usually seen as saying that I'm not responsible for the son of my father and human sense going back to the farthest out of my father so I'm not guilty for the cinema Adam committed both of the Bible I'm guilty for the sun that I choose to and there is a sociology of businesses were automatically in a condemnation for being born is because we have fallen sinful human nature and that's the original that is Augustinian of the Catholic teaching about why they have infant baptism to take your the original sum of babies are born with certain if your see all your righteousness by faith has as its foundation Original Sin you better watch out because of the Catholic doctrine and it's interesting that Desmond Ford the underlying foundation to his righteousness by faith theology is that we are born under condemnation because we were born right sir Davis David I live it in the sigh was shaped in iniquity and so my mother conceive me all that center if you read that passage carefully it doesn't say that I was worn a center under condemnation all are saying is when we are born we were born in the effects of fun we have a fallen nature and we are we have a human flash from three shows us with that human flesh leads us towards and clearly Robbins teaches all of them and come short of the glory of God so inevitably human beings with a fallen human nature shoes the sun and that's what condemns us exactly we are not condemned for Adamson we're condemned for our I want to read you what EJ Wagner Road he wrote a nice synopsis of the book around he says this is age check this page ninety nine from chapter five and he's commenting on this statement death passed upon all men he says that the justice you death passed upon for that all have send the soul is beneficial by the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father nation neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the sun the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him and this is also a necessary consequence of the fact that sin contains definite and that death cannot come in any other way than by seven so he he is basically saying some order what we do seven I can't find where he said he goes on to say that we are hearing here it is on page one hundred he says it is evident that Adam could not give his descendents any higher nature than he had himself so absent made it inevitable that all his descendents should be born with sinful natures synods of death however does not pass on them for that but because this sort of what Wagner says a minor with one of her key features of righteousness by faith in eighteen eighty eight Wagner says the sentence of death is not half up half down onto us because we were born but because we both are the threat sure that's true sure exactly right that's right so and for the purpose of the recording I want make sure this is what am her brother was saying is that the Jews to crucified Christ participated in the sins of their fathers you killed the prophets and so because of that they read they were rejecting the profits he prophesied of Christ become so they participated in the sense of their fathers you rejected those profits and added to that the set of rejecting Christ when he was here so those are obviously some important him the way right and him to answer soon Matthew twelve and murmuring a rapid series is about time for revocable finish the rest of chapter five next week of work try getting into some is going to show a couple of things will get a verse thirteen fourteen is the strength of Olafson was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses even over them that had not sent after the somewhat heated and trends who is the figure of him that was the time served policy much some fun imputed when there is no law that pay people were still dying from Adam to Moses and as a couple of things going on here so from Adam to Moses God had not come down to Sinai revealed the law that yet people were still dying which means that there was a knowledge of God 's law from the time of Adam to do for the time because sin is imputed when there is no lobby yet people were still dying so that means that people knew about that the other thing that's and then the law was given in the time of the system there is absolutely no excuse after that though the other thing that's interesting is his death reigned from Adam to Moses why it is called shoes Moses as the figure for death raining until that exactly Moses was resurrected he was the first resurrected person so from that point on once Moses was resurrected it showed that God has the power to resurrect those you died in faith served death reigned from Adam to Moses even over them that had not sent after the somewhat cheated Adam 's transgression is a figured I was the constant assistance as those who didn't say after the what anonymous transgressions though neither that means there's still some they just send in a different way and have is the figure was the speaking of the second so the credit workhouse stopping right in the middle of the sovereign get into next week will this give you a preview versus fifteen to twenty one will be an AMD motif which Hebrew writers like these party and party and party will always be the effect that Adam have part B how Christ counted that and it's very important to understand because some people try to just focus on half of the verse to safety this proves that will Original Sin is true and are not looking at the whole verses six through the unsuspecting here's crisis and if you understand that way then you won't get tripped up by some of the arguments after the try to prove original
