him we thank you for this Sabbath day for the opportunity to study your word blesses as we study restructuring nine may give us a deeper understanding of the sanctuary message that we have Jesus name in the okay set last week we had a very interesting study in Hebrews chapter eight showing that Jesus is the is the high priesthood on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty of the heavens and that he's also described while seated at the right hand of the throne of God chapter twelve is the author in the finisher of our faith so his function as high priest is to also be the author in the finisher of our faith and one of the things that he does is as high priest and author and finisher of our faith is shoe right the new covenant which is his law in your hearts and minds and so as author and finisher of our faith when we've finished the race we have the faith of Jesus we've run the race with patience and he's written his launch your hearts and minds so Jesus role as high priest is to develop a group of people who finish the race with patients they come to the end I have the faith of Jesus and they keep the commandments of God that the hundred and forty four thousand so ultimately the final role of Jesus as high priest is to develop the one hundred and forty four thousand enough when he's been working on since eighteen forty four so that receivers assorted pointing added as we go through chapter eight then in chapter nine we had some very important concepts that were in ago three and we will get started chapter nausea like a volunteer to read verses one and see Hebrews nine versus one and he quickly here are a call on someone how do him here is mine wanted to the sanctuary for a tabernacle was prepared the first part in which was the lampstand the table and the showbread which is called the sanctuary a cat so the first two verses now Hollis shifting your celebrities like okay in the first covenant we had a sanctuary and the sanctuary you had a tabernacle where the first he refers to the first three of the candlestick the table on the showbread and those of us who understand the sanctuary service a earthly sanctuary recognize the Mosaic sanctuary here and why do I say that because it talks about the candlestick the table on the showbread and Solomon 's Temple there were ten candlesticks in the holy place but in the sanctuary that was made in the wilderness may have one candlestick and so this is what Paul is referring to here is that he refers to the first where there is a candlestick table and showbread were pretty familiar with us in the candlestick you have the seven candlesticks and a table of fabric to stack of six and then you have the own the altar of incense so then we have bursaries is after the second veil the tabernacle which is called the holiest of all now this is an attempt is an important point in the book of Hebrews chapter nine I think pretty much every Bible translation including the King James version doesn't accurately translate the word the Greek word that Paul is using to describe the apartment of the sanctuary and then the worst culprit is the new international version of the King James is certainly not faultless year that the Greek word that Paul uses eight times throughout the book of Hebrews is to have idea hertz she weren't such an idea and literally translated means holies so plural for holy or holy places which refers to the holy place and the most holy place are the first department and the second apartment together and but one place that Paul uses a different word is verse three where the King James says holiest of all it happens to me translate it correctly here but the Greek word here is hacked yet how Dion says that it's a happy it's had yet had Jan now if you if you look at the new international version the new international version says most holy place throughout all of chapter nine that's a very bad translation the King James will say sanctuary holiest of all holy places a variety of things the one place of the King James gets this right is verse twenty four where it says for Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands that the most accurate translation of the word tacky holy places that's an accurate translation because that's what it needs and means holy places both the both the holy place and the monthly place for a would-be holy places and the King James doesn't translate that correctly throughout much of the rest of the chapter or the book of Hebrew through that matters the we want to clarify that here what we see here that was Paula sang like after the second now that is a second mail there must be a first mail and so there are some scholars even within Adventism Devon for being one of them he said well in Hebrew six it says Jesus entered in to the veil of the most holy place while actually in Hebrews nine we see there's a second rail that second e-mail Texas to the most holy place the first male who taketh them holy place so anyway and by the way doesn't forgive the new international version prove his view about the sanctuary just nation so first apartment candlestick table of showbread alderman since first three we have the second rail were we in the tabernacle which is the holy call the holiest of all and the academic record for holiest of all here is tacky I had Jan now I'd like to volunteer to read verses four and five keepers chapter nine four and five over here so he restructure nine is formed by the describing what's in the most holy place wherein was the golden pot that had manna and Aaron 's rod that butted in the tables of the covenant and over at the cherubim some glory shadowing the mercy seat of which we cannot now speak particularly upset so here we see the furniture and the most holy place and the Golden censor the ark of covenant overlaid round about with gold where and with a golden hot that had manna and Aaron 's rod but in the tables of the covenant we see the cherubim of glory shadowing the mercy seat interesting pulses of which we cannot now speak particularly as a few things here Paul is describing the sanctuary of the first covenant and so you have a boy place in the most holy place of the earthly century with which was part of the first covenant experience and yet in Hebrews eight we know that this sanctuary was made as an example shadow of the heavenly sanctuary and so we come to Revelation eleven nineteen we see the temple of God is up in heaven there was seen in the simple the ark of God 's covenant set shows that Hayden in heaven in the sanctuary in heaven the Ark of the covenant is there so which department of the sanctuary when the ark of the covenant and heaven be your BM only employees of the most holy sites and if you study Revelation eleven this is when the seventh trumpet against the sound when the Third World begins in history that's October twenty two eighteen forty four that's it we've gone through then the book of Revelation in the past so it's interesting the Ark of the covenant has the tables of the covenant and it and we've seen what the new covenant is for God 's people the old covenant God wrote his long tables of stone and the Israelites at all the word assembly will be that God is the other sonnets take matters into my own hands in the new covenant I will write my law and your heart into your mind now if the tables of the covenant and the Ark of the covenant are in the most holy place and we see you win the temple of God was up in heaven and CDR can become in Revelation eleven nineteen of the seven trumpet begins to sound what then do we understand prophetically about when the new covenant will be finished in the life of God 's people the new covenant will be finished at some point after the temple of God was evident heaven Revelation eleven nineteen and if you study Revelation eleven Revelation eleven fifteen through nineteen occurs after the second lowest task in the Third World begins in for those of you who were in the revelation class the first and the second was occurred with the fifth and the sixth trumpet and the Third World occurs with the seventh trumpet the seventh trumpet begins the sale when the sample of God is open in heaven which is October twenty two eighteen forty four so the new covenant or the architect Kevin is seen in the most holy place which means that some time after that point October twenty two is when the experience of God riding his law into the hearts and minds of his people will be finished and what's interesting about this what's interesting is that the tables of the cabin are God 's law are contained in the ark of the covenant and that includes the seventh ASAP and it's interesting that the seventh day Sabbath was rediscovered after October twenty eighteen forty four part of the process of God riding his law in the hearts and minds of the people is for them to keep the law completely and fully and part of keeping God 's law completely and fully is remembering the Sabbath day to keep it holy which is the seventh day instead of C a little bit of the new covenant and of the seventh day Sabbath being prophesied here and it's interesting Paul says respect to the mercy seat and the cherubim overshadowing the mercy seat that we cannot now speak particularly on with different viewpoints about why Paul says that some say what he was just in a hurry to get to the main point others say that this was that the poignant line when Jesus was ministering as our high Priest in the holy place not in the most holy place so when Paul wrote this this was not the point of emphasis of his message is mentioning it because at some point in the future it will become a point of emphasis now let's read verses six and seven volunteer to read Hebrews nine seven ever hear your chapter nine verses six and seven now Lindsay seems where it has so ordained priests went always into the first tabernacle accomplishing the service of God but to the second when the high priest alone once every year not without blood which he offered for himself and for the heirs of his people okay now this is pretty straightforward and this is really just a review of a sanctuary service said into the first tabernacle and in the holy place of the high priest when an about apartment every day of the year pretty straightforward and the end of the second tabernacle which is the holy of holies of the most holy place the high priest only went into the most holy place once every year and what of the high priest in the most holy place once a year what happened is the day of atonement I was available December God 's people were blotted out which of course correlates with the new covenant experience of God writing Ron and Arthur mine people because of your sins are blotted out your Navy keeping avant perfectly but this is pretty clear and the first high priest went every day into the second high priest went alone once every year as he says not without blood that means he went with lots and it was the blood that was used to blow up the sons of God 's people and see off the blood not only for himself but for the years of the people so down your report on your left to be precise in verse seven not only is it called the daily toll of that the people of daughter brought into judgment and the text will correlate with Revelation eleven nineteen and the fact that the people of God are brought into judgment forthright surf as to when it's accurately pointing out here that people are brought into judgment on the day of the time and fact if there was some any son found in the camp a high priest one of lots of life morning when in a most holy place an interesting concept you will see the concept of judgment with respect to the David's comment at the end of Hebrews nine a.m. versus twenty fourth to twenty eight specific members twenty seven the word judgment is used said we will see that concept again now now that we've established this is an money to point this out Paul uses the terms first and sever second tabernacle to describe the holy place and the most holy place here in verses six and seven which has caused fusion when we come to verse eight because they say well the first tabernacle of the holy place and the earthly sanctuary the seven second tabernacle is the most solid for a similar and their earthly sanctuary so then we come to verse a when Paul uses the word first tabernacle again here he must still be talking about the first apartment of the earthly sanctuary and working a look at that essay is this what Paul really is saying here so let's look at verse eight here's what Paul says the holy Joe's this signifies that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest while is the first tabernacle was yet standing both look at this carefully here this is such an important point that Paul says the holy ghost is speaking here this is very crucial to understand that whatever is going to be said next year is obviously a very important point and so the first question you have to ask is do you think that that Hall would invoke the Holy Spirit to say in the high priest didn't go into the most holy place as long as the ministry of the other holy place was still carrying out its function throughout the rest of the year on a perhaps but why would Paul invoke the Holy Spirit to make that point at the first question here the second point is this remember how I said that most Bible translations missed translate the Greek word to have idea so instead of saying holy places they'll say most holy place her holiest of all inverse a here when Paul says the holy ghost the signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest the Greek word here is to have you and verse three when the King James translates the Greek word holiest of all its head idea how Dion which implies the holy employees are the most holy place but in verse eight they say holiest of all asked to have you with the different Greek words and yet they're saying the same thing so out of the makes sense so then we have to come back and say what Paul really is saying is this the holy ghost of the signifying that the way into the holy places was not yet made manifest while at the first tabernacle was yet standing and are good sister Grace overhears thing in Arabic that thoughts translated about saltwater know that so thank you for pointing that out so in Arabic is translated correctly verse eight should read the holy ghost the signifying that the way into the holy places was not yet made manifest while at the first tabernacle was yet standing now if we understand it this way the holy places means holy place and most holy place as a plural form then the question is why would Paul say the way into the holy place and most likely was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was yet standing if the first tabernacle only means the holy place that will make sense to get you at six okay the holy places standing at the way into the holy place and the most likely is not yet made manifest because the holy places and that's not logical at all so what's Paul trying to say here he's saying what the first tabernacle while it is standing whatever the holy places are not yet been made manifest and what is how does Paul describe the first tabernacle in verses in the nine semaphore verse nine which was a failure for the time then-President in which Robert both gifts and sacrifices that could not make him that did the service perfect as pertaining to the conscience which stood only in meats and drinks and divers washings and carnal ordinances imposed on them until the time of reformation away think Paul is talking about here the first tabernacle is where you have gifts and sacrifices meats drinks it off me in drink offerings carnal ordinances impose on until the time of reformation what do you think this is this is the earthly sanctuary the earthly sanctuary should not make those perfect as pertaining to the conscience and it's interesting when you get a Hebrews ten it talks about how the blood of bulls and goats could not take away son so even though you would come to the day of atonement in the blood of bulls and goats would be offered on the David's home in the most holy place and I represented the blood of Christ then the same service of the Yi of the daily service would start all over again the very next day because the sons of God 's people really hadn't been taken away so what Paul is talking about here when it comes to meats and drink offerings and carnal ordinances in gifts and sacrifices are the all the ordinances of the earthly sanctuary so then when you go back to verse eight the way in the holy places of the heavenly sanctuary which is the sanctuary of the new covenant was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle which was the sanctuary of the earthly sanctuary of the old covenant was still standing those long as the earthly thanks for the old covenant is still standing the win in the holy places the holy place and the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary is not you made Mathis and this is an important point the holy ghost speaks up on this point and noticed that the earthly sanctuary in the sacrifices of it were Jim closed on God 's people until the time of reformation what was the time of reformation was the word Reformation me means change when that change take place insert place when Christ died on the cross and if you get a Colossians shoot a talk about the law of ordinances nailed to the cross let's go there Colossians chapter she Colossians chapter chief starting in verse fourteen same author Paul says blotting out these the handwriting of ordinances you recognize the word ordinances there we thought and Hebrews nine blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and check it out of the way nailing it to his cross and having spoiled principalities and powers he made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink remember we saw meats and drinks in Hebrews nine as the meat and drink offerings or in respect of an holiday or the name and or the Sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come and some people try to use the verses they see the Sabbath is now the cross know it wasn't me for the ceremonial status of the earthly sanctuary old covenant system that the Hebrew people observed until Christ on the cross when Christ died on the cross everything that's part of the Mosaic ordinance was nailed to the cross and done away with the new cabinet is God riding his law on our hearts and our my bank with the seventh eighth out of the play zone by anyone tell you that God 's law including the seventh a Sabbath was nailed to the cross on Colossians she was saying was that the ceremonial law was nailed to the cross and I don't have a quote with me I'll try to get it for next Sabbath as I forgot about this passage that tell him why says in her writings that Colossians two fourteen through seventeenth is speaking of the ceremonial law there's some theologians even the mysteries that they are now deciding about the moral one I don't know how you could justify them say that while now the cross including the Sabbath anyway so going back to Hebrews nine we see then that the time of reformation of my latest some people I think that a seventh time Reformation Protestant Reformation I follow Paul talking about but hadn't even happen when he wrote that the Hebrews time of reformation is when Christ dies on the cross set of the ceremonial law is done away with now that Paul has established this he's got to talk about the role of Christ as our high priest let's read verses eleven to fourteen Mike a volunteer to read Hebrews nine verses eleven through fourteen quickly here right on your Hebrews nine verses eleven through fourteen nice being height please of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands that is to say not of this building neither by the blood of goats and cats but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us for if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes affect high for sprinkling that unclean sanctify us to the purifying of the flash verse fourteen of how much more shall the blood of Christ was here the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to guide major transit projects luncheons from dead works to serve the living God that now Oregon and now were talking about Christ as the high priest of the good things become more of a better covenant and the old covenant so he's a high high priest of something better than the old covenant and he's ministering in a greater and more perfect tabernacle in the tabernacle of the old this is the tabernacle and having the heavenly sanctuary is not made with hands and I mean it is not of this building here on Mister this is the heavenly sanctuary and then I like verses twelve to fourteen so she did venture into heaven with the blood of goats and calves he entered into the heavenly sanctuary with his own blood that he's a much better free and the priests here on this Earth they then enter in with their own blood bantered in the blood of goats and calves but he answered and with his own blood but he's a much better priests and then we see likely if the blood of bulls and goats was supposed to represent sprinkling the uncleanness of your flash how much more do you think the blood of Christ will purify and notices the blood of Christ not only forgives us and we receive forgiveness from his blood but we also receive purification from his blind Jesus didn't die for us and shed his blood to just give us forgive he also shed his blood to purify and it says she offered so how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered software without slot now the marginal reading first spot here is fall so he offered himself without fault said God was as interesting Jesus offered himself without fault and first Peter chapter two we see that he had no guile when he was reviled Jesus has no guile is found without fault when he offers himself and guess what about the hundred and forty four thousand when they span amounts on they are found without fault before the throne of God and in their mouth was found no guile these are the same people of the new covenant that God 's law written in their hearts and minds so Jesus is our high priest is also the author and finisher of our faith to as the mediator of the new covenant rights as lined our hearts and minds like she had no guile in his mouth he was out without fault in the steeple with a trim he is the author and finisher of their faith when they get to the end of the race they will have no guile my mouth and they will be without fault because they have the faith of Jesus the patients of the saints may keep the commandments of God so this is Jesus as the mediator of the new covenant except how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered himself self without spot to God purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God now this is interesting so because of the blood of Christ he will purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God is interesting when you go back to Chivers for innkeepers for verse chances for C that is entered into God 's rest he also has ceased from his own words as God did from that stenosis got address on the seventh of May from all his works he created the world in six literal continuous continuous days any rest on the seventh day he rested from all his works and those who enter into God 's wrath that you have the new covenant experience which includes the seventh face Sabbath which means that they have an experience with God all week long when the seventh a Sabbath comes they have a special day alone with God which is representative of their holy life all week long these people have ceased from their own works and Hebrews nine it says because of the blood of Christ Jesus purged us from dead words to serve the living God so there is a correlation we cease from her own words and we enter into God 's rest Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant purges our conference conscience from dead works to serve the living God the ceasing from our own worth having our conscience first from dead works this is part of the new covenant experience and ultimately the purging of our conscience and dad works in the blotting out of sin the end of the day of atonement now let's continue here versus fifteen to seventeen if I can have a volunteer to read Hebrews nine verses fifteen to seventeen here again Hebrews nine fifteen through seventeen and for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament that by means of death for the reduction of the transgressions that were under the first testament that they which are called call you receive the promise of eternal inheritance flow where a testament is there must also business necessity be the death of the cedar for a test images of a floor of force after men are dead otherwise it is often you are one of testator Linda okay verses fifteen to seventeen are pretty straightforward it talks about Jesus being the mediator the New Testament and you know that the same word for testament covenant for Jesus is the mediator the new covenant and there's by the means of his death he redeems that you commit sin under the first estimate or covenant and it's interesting this firmware etc. or a covenant is there must also necessity be the death of the testator for a testament is a force after men are dead shoe was the one who is the testator so to speak of the New Testament this is Jesus and so when we think about this when we think about for example here in the search when you make a living will that will is not carried out until you die so you say I will give certain amount of my money to the sun and the certain amount of the sun so instead of that is going to fax and so you die policy years like Jesus made a new covenant with his people he said I will write my blog to your hearts and in your minds but it would not have any force until Jesus died when Jesus died then the new covenant has force what's amazing to me really sad if he's about the purpose for Jesus dying with so that the power would be there sure right his law in your heart and into our minds with the devil did he says because Jesus died along with nailed to the cross that is that does not make any sense according to the Bible the Bible says in order for Jesus to write his launch your hearts and minds which is the need him the only way for the new cabinets it takes forth this for Jesus to die and his allies still have law and the double there's a lot of melted across the Arctic deepening the reason Jesus died with so that we can receive forgiveness of sins and that also he could keep his new cabinet which he promised yes by riding his law into our hearts and into our minds and when I finished chapter nine they were getting close to finishing at the end of chapter nine is really where the towers let's continue on here versus each team three twenty key fight have a volunteer to read Hebrews chapter nine is eighteen to twenty two run every year Hebrews nine whereupon needed the first testament was dedicated without blood for when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law he took the blood of calves enough goats with water and scarlet wool and his step and sprinkled both the book and all the people saying this is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry and almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without shedding of blood is no remission that this is pretty straightforward effect like if found Christ ventures into heaven with his blood you know that's also what happened in the earthly sanctuary this is what matters is that according to the precepts of the light of the blood of calves and goats of water scarlet wool feels that he sprinkled the blood and all the people he said this is the blood of the covenant and he sprinkled with blood but the tabernacle among the vessels of the ministry as and so on so forth same without shedding of blood there is no remission such no national removal of sand without the shedding of blood so there cannot be any rematch in the removal of our sin without the shedding of Christ's blood now what I'm going to do you ever doubt her last few minutes I'm going to read the last two universes of Hebrews nine we may get part of it today but were not into all the concert on this and hit some high points in the next week will really go into the last verses of Hebrews nine yes we can sort of tie off the senior the verse twenty three it was therefore necessary that the patterns of things and I love your first century should be purified with these but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these that clearly Christ sacrifice is better for the ministry of Christ in heaven is better now this is where things really get powerful richest twenty four to twenty eight are one of the high points of the book of Hebrews verse twenty four for Christ is not entered the holy places made with hands or the holy places made with hands at the earthly sanctuary holy place and the most holy place which are the figures of attrition noticed the holy place and the mostly first are the figures of the true sanctuary which tells us if there figures that means we have a holy place in a monthly place in the heavenly sanctuary so Christ is not entered in the holy places made with hands which are the figures of the truth that into heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God for us so now Christ is in heaven which has a holy place and the monthly place to appear in the presence of God for us verse twenty five nor yet that he should offer himself often the high priest enters into the holy place that should be holy places every year with the blood of others for then must he often has suffered since the foundation of the world that now want in the end of the world that he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself verse twenty seven and as it is appointed in the men once to die but after this the judgment noticed verse twenty eight so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and hunted them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin and salvation there the law in these verses and so on is to point out a few things Christ has entered into heaven and his purpose in inch entering into heaven is shoot foot away the sense of God 's people he started in the holy place and then he transitioned on the day of atonement which was October twenty two eighteen forty four to the most holy place he made a sacrifice for sin wants and wants in the end of the world he kept here's the cutaway and we see that there is a judgment time and eventually we see that Christ will come the second time and he will come without some organism study what it means for Christ to come the second time without sin to those who looked at because the neighbor chapter twelve it describes a group of people who look to Jesus the author and finisher their faith and those are the people that you can come back for the study at next week thank you
