you need power if you need wisdom if you need to riches if you need strength if you need blessing those very gifts are owed it to Jesus the father will give them to him because he is worthy and he shares them with you because you are his trip in your Bibles revelation chapter one Revelation one looking at verses five and six the size and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dad and the Prince of the kings of the earth unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood verse six and has made us kings and priests unto God and his father to him be glory and dominion forever and ever verse five and six are the and of a very long sentence that begins in verse four I want to pull a thought out of it if you look in the middle of chapter five is C a U on unto it starts as if it is a new sentence under him that loved us the question is what is unto him that loved us the answer is in the end of verse six to him be glory and answers it is that it was the brain of the universe together so that every knee will bow to Jesus and every time that would confess to him when we read this idea that the father has highly exalted father give us to Jesus in verse two so he could give us eternal life the father gave us to Jesus because Jesus is worthy of all things and Jesus could give us eternal life that was owed to him verse three and this is life eternal that they might know the the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent what is the connection between eternal life and the book of Revelation the connection is that a revelation of Jesus Christ is the beginning of the pro-life eternal life is to know Jesus and the father for what in particular about Jesus and the father is to be known in this passage the story of the sacrifice of Calvary that hour that was coming was to be exalted by the father and why was the father to exalt the sun and that experience so that the father himself would be known the father exalts Jesus and his sacrifice so that the father himself can be known in no way Jesus and the father is in essence eternal life in John six something very interesting happens it's sad in John experience that we are to take his sacrifice into ourselves that's what he said to each his flash had to drink his blood he said if we take his sacrifice into ourselves that we have eternal life and weak and many are sickly among you and many are dead when it says many sleep it doesn't mean many are lying down according to the Bible communion is a very solemn time that when treated with proper reverence and respect it is the essence of partaking of eternal life it is taking to ourselves the death of Jesus his experience of sacrifice for us internalizing that you have communion is really partaking of eternal life if it is but if it is not that communion is treating it the sacrifice of Jesus with disrespect and disrespect for a sacrifice of dad made for you is contempt that is if you were to refuse a gift of a cookie from my wife you might just say that that would be disrespectful but if you were to refuse to accept the sacrifice of Jesus dying for you that is contempt and carries with it a great deal of guilt you could refuse it by saying something like I refuse it but in this passage he refuses by treating it with disrespect it is a precious gift and is not shared with those twenty nine summary of what I've said so far is that our Lord Jesus is worthy of honor he's worthy of glory in short he's a worthy for some reasons he's worthy because he is the creator and by that means the owner of all he's worthy because he is the Redeemer and again the owner of me she redeemed me by the precious gift of his blood by that means he wants to me if I have an wash I am forgiven because he paid for my sins but more than that his blood is something I am to internalize I am to take it into myself and this is the essence of eternal life to internalize the gift that Jesus made for this reason we have the communion service Satan would like us to treat Communion lightly because there is no more simple way invests for him to secure our examination communion and treated lightly checking to see whether not I have faith because those that exercise faith are those that are accepted with God but on the deepest level and examining the sea is just us living through me because if Jesus is not living through me that I don't have faith and I am rejected of God when the whole thought together in closing we want to behold Christ in the revelation because beholding Christ is the essence of eternal life Revelation while it reveals a panorama of earth history repeatedly mentions and alludes to the sacrifice that Jesus made for us it mentions that he is working and his worthiness modifies the way that being speak to him in the book of Revelation it ought to modify the way that we speak of him here on this Earth we have opportunity to give him the honor due his name if we do it with proper respect we discharge a duty if we neglect to speak of him we are in debt because we owe him honor if we speak of him lightly we are guilty of disrespect of the one who gave himself for us to know Jesus is eternal life and what has he done to assure that we have many of reminders of this is given us a communion service in the ordinances of the church communion service that with proper preparation would remind us that the essence of eternal life is to internalize the gift that Jesus was made the gift that bought us a second time and made us so with our heads for our father in heaven I ask that you would exult at this late hour the sacrifice of your son Jesus in our own mind which would glorify yourself in that way that we might have life eternal to know you the only true God and Jesus in your sent and I asked that you would pardon how carelessly we have taken your name how lightly we've treated the communion experience were dependent on you to finish the
