Well tonight we are not going to talk about psychology when we talk about stress we think it's a psychological phenomenon. Tonight we're going to deal with stress from a different perspective we're going to deal with it from the perspective of the Holy Word of God and actually the presentation tonight is somewhat a continuation of the lecture that we had last Wednesday night where we dealt with family values unique perhaps a different perspective than you've heard before. But I consider that there is a very close relationship between the family and the sap. We noticed that in our study last time God made the family last time the six day and then the first day that they lived on this earth the first day they rested and that's the pattern they got of the stabbings. I would like to invite you tonight to turn in your Bibles with me to the Gospel of Luke chapter for Luke chapter of war and I would like to start reading at verse sixteen or sixteen. Basically this is speaking about the inauguration or the beginning of the ministry of Jesus after his baptism. This is the first. Even after he went to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. It's exactly when he begins his public ministry and interestingly enough the Lord Jesus began his public ministry on the Sabbath but he not only began his public ministry on the Sabbath but he also expressed in the synagogue that so well what his ministry was for. In other words the intention of his ministry. Now let's know this local chapter four. In verse sixteen. It's out there so he came to mastering where he had been brought up and as he is custom was what's a custom custom it's something that we do. A bitch will be on a regular basis it says and as his custom was he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read what Jesus customarily go to the synagogue which was church in his day. He went customarily on the Sabbath and then it says in verse seventeen and he was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah and when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written the Spirit of God is upon me. You remember the spirit of the Lord came at his baptism right. The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. Two set at all who are oppressed to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and then the Bible says that he closed the book game up to the attendant and sat down and all of the eyes of those present whereupon he now I want you to notice that Jesus begins his public ministry on Sabbath in the synagogue. And he presents in his message that he intends to do during his ministry during his ministry. He's going to preach the gospel which is the good news to the poor. He is going to heal the world. A broken hearted he is going to preach deliverance to the captives. It is going to open the eyes of the blind and he's going to set at liberty those who are oppressed in other words he not only begins his ministry on Sabbath buddy actually reveals what his agenda is going to be on the south. Now interestingly enough those elements that we just read in Luke Chapter four are the very things that Jesus did on the Sabbath to diverse people. He opened the eyes of the blind. He demanded those who are oppressed. He said to me those who are about. In other words he not only announced. Ministry was going to be like on Sabbath but he used the Sabbath to exemplify what he had said he was going to do during his ministry. Now that's one of several examples of this going with me to the Gospel of Mark chapter one and verses twenty one to twenty four. But Chapter one and verse twenty one to twenty four Remember Jesus has just given his agenda for his ministry. What he's going to do in his ministry he's going to be very spare where he's going to be the deliverer. He's going to be the one who everyone who is sick and oppressed of the devil and now right after this episode we notice what we find in my chapter one verse twenty one. Then they went into Capernaum and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and talk. You remember that that was one of the things that he was going to do according to the prophecy of Isaiah. Verse twenty two and they were astonished at his teaching for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes. Now continue say now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit and he cried out saying let us know man what have we to do with you don't you. Jesus of Nazareth. Did you come to destroy us. I know who you are the Holy One of God. But Jesus rebuked him saying Be quiet and come out of him. Did Jesus release here a man who was suddenly approached by the devil by an unclean spirit. Yes he's fulfilling what he announced on the Sabbath. He's giving one Sabbath the meaning of these ministries. Now let's go to Mark Chapter three. We already started this last time but let's go back there and take another look at this and review quickly what we studied and I want to read a quotation from the code of Jewish law which I didn't read last time. Chapter three and verse one and he entered the synagogue again and a man was there who had a withered hand a chronic case no need to elements he would have died if Jesus had waited till Sunday rest and they watched him close whether he would heal him on the Sabbath so that they might accuse him. Then he said to the man who had the withered hand step forward he's going to make a case out of his name. He's going to reveal it before everybody pray. So he's not doing anything in the dark. Nothing in secret. He's doing it in public. Then it says in verse four and he said to them is that the Lokpal on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil to save a life or to kill. R.C. You know that they're plotting to do right to kill him but they kept silent. Incidentally let me just read you hear a quotation from this book code of Jewish law I'll read you one of the laws that they had back then which is very ironic this is found in this book code of Jewish law. Page ninety seven. Here's the rule of the rabbis. It is forbidden to catch any living thing on the Sabbath. Even up to me. But if an insect stings a person it may be removed and I don't know but one is not allowed to kill it because it is forbidden to kill on the Sabbath. Anything that possesses life. That's what they are laws their laws based on tradition said a lot of what it says. Once again in March after three only ironies about what they were planning to do on the Sabbath. Verse by. So when he looked around them with anger being greeted by the hardness of their hearts he said to the man Stretch out your hand and he stretched it out and his hand was restored as whole as the other. So let me ask you what is the Sabbath a sign of being released from oppression by evil spirits. It is a sign of being not being restored. Did Jesus have to recreate that man's hand. He most certainly did. It's a sign of read Creation that notice where six Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the world eons against him how they might destroy him. Wrong but you know once I am wrong and recreate man but certainly nothing wrong with planning to kill the author of the life of the creator of life. Here are these poor according to them I couldn't even kill a plenty and they're planning to create a to kill Jesus Christ the Creator. There are laws that traditions had liberated the commandment of God that says Thou shalt not do you not go with me to Luke Chapter fourteen. In verses one to six. Another one of these healing episodes of Jesus. Chapter Fourteen of Luke and verse one Now it happened as he went into the house of one of the rulers of the fantasy. Why this is going to be right in the lips mouth and infinite because I think there are three and Jesus is going to make a point. Now what happened as he went into the house of one of the rulers of the piracies to eat bread on the Sabbath that they watched him close. And behold there was a certain man before him who had dropsy that an excessive accumulation of liner in the tissues that causes great pain. Verse three and Jesus and serene spoke to their lawyers and there are cities saying is it a laugher to heal on the Sabbath. Let me ask you how would you answer that question. It's a lot to hear on the Sabbath. You show me one verse in the Bible where it says that you can heal another. One of the Pharisees get the idea that it's wrong to heal others or from the Bible. If I'm tradition so is the fabric of the Pharisees the Sabbath. No it's their Sabbath. It is a twisted contented sab. It is a counter then seven and that's why Christians don't want anything to do with the Sabbath because they look at the seventh through the eyes of the person. But you have to look at the Sabbath through the eyes of Jesus I'm not going to the eyes of the bells and you have to see what the Sabbath means in the eyes of our Lord. It's not continue same verse poor but they kept silent of course they had to keep silent if they said yes you can heal on Sabbath they would have been admitting that their laws were wrong. If they had said no the people would say Man these guys are merciless they won't even allow anybody to heal somebody and make him feel better. So they kept silent. But by then he answered them saying which of you having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day. What is Jesus telling these fellows what he's saying is that for you dear Pharisees and scribes an animal is more important than a person in other words he is same for you but the comfort of an animal who is suffering and sad because he felt like the pit is more important than the suffering of a person on the staff you see their laws had totally turned things upside down. Had totally changed things the purpose of the Sabbath is for the good of man and they had had created a Sabbath that was for the evil of me. Now I'm not as what it says just across the page from there. Look Chapter thirteen and verse ten. Look Chapter thirty and verse. Then let me ask you after Jesus healed this man with the dropsy How do you suppose he looked at the South. But my restoration but damn I don't believe that was the fabric where the finding of God's power to satisfy our needs and to humans. Now notice Chapter thirteen of Luke and starting with verse ten. Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sand. And behold there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. Was she deathly ill. Could Jesus have waited till sundown. Most certainly so but he wants to make a point. And so she had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bent over and could not in any way raise herself. But when Jesus saw her he called her to him and said to her you why are you. From your infirmity. Very interesting word that Jesus uses. It doesn't say you are healed from your infirmity. He says you are loosed did Jesus proclaim a Nazareth that he was going to lose those who were born. Well certainly yes and he's showing the meaning of His ministry through the Sabbath. So he says once you are loose from your infirmity and he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight. And what glorify God How do you suppose this woman looked at the Sabbath after the day that the Messiah loose me. Let me put it on the side that would have meant that she had been redeemed it was a sign of her redemption and her deliverance from disease. Notice verse fourteen but the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation. Because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath and he said to the crowd there are six days on which men ought to work. But you see healing is the work of God not the work of men. Use it as proper to do spiritual things on the Sabbath to alleviate pain and disease and suffering is what Jesus is saying there's no law against that. It's always as there are six days on which men ought to work therefore come and be healed on them and not on the Sabbath day. Isn't that interesting. They would rather have this woman but I don't understand it. That impressed fifteen Jesus directs his remarks directly to this individual the Lord then answered him and said hypocrite does not each one of you on the Sabbath. Lucy is X. or his donkey from the start and lead it away to wider it. Schaub not this woman being a daughter of Abraham. When I'm saying time has what I why was she bound. Because the same time that bounder. So when Jesus unbound her he was gaining the victory over Satan so whom Satan had bound to think of it for eighteen years. Be loosed. Not us there's the word again. Be loosed from his stand on the Sabbath day. Basically what Jesus is saying is on one side you have a daughter of Abraham and on the other side you have mere animals on one side you have a woman who's been suffering for eighteen years on the other side you have an animal that has only suffered one day of thirst and you have a woman who has been bought by Satan on the other hand you have an animal that has been bound by human beings. And yet for you an animal is more important than a person. Do you remember that when we started about the law of God We said that the law of God is a lot of relationships a lot of benefit people. The law by itself trying to keep the law by itself without making reference to people is a curse because it becomes a method for us to earn salvation for have I live placed on X. we did realize that the last that God has given for the good of people that are not well and simplification. Now let's go to John Chapter five. Another very very interesting healing of Jesus John Chapter five. And let's start reading at verse one and we can't go through his whole chapter. There's a tremendous message in the whole chapter but we can only highlight certain parts. Verse Well after this there was a feast of the Jews and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool which is called in Hebrew Bethesda having five porches. Now notice this in these lay a group. Great multitude. Blind lame paralyze waiting for the moving up I want to burst for one innings all went down in a certain time. Into the pool and stirred up the water. Then whoever stepped in first after the stirring up a lot of those made whatever disease he had there was an angel of God. Oh you know I but I just idea that whomever Johnston first is going to be here as all the rest of them are going to be left sick. So in other words he really is one of the smartest. That doesn't fit with the theology that Jesus taught. If this did happen it was not an angel of the Lord because God would not have it all most people said and all of you who could jump into the ladder first so you can imagine the scene there's all these ills that people and Jesus chooses the most pathetic case. Notice verse by now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years. Would you have died of Jesus had waited till sundown of course about once a year that's a crime he carries per cent when Jesus timeline there and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time he said to him Do you want to be made well. And of course he says yes but I can't jump into the pool. I have to know what a capricious god my god I'm going to jump in. And incidentally it does not say that this was an angel of God This is a tradition that they had. It simply says an angel and we know that there are more than good angels in Scripture. And so Jesus says to this man in verse. Eight. Rise take up your bed and rock. Band council. Verse nine and immediately the man was made well took up as Bannon and that day was the sound. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured it is not it is not lawful for you to carry your pick. You know I don't you know that you you can walk around. What they're really saying is it's not lawful for Jesus to heal you and send. But now they're finding fault with the fact that Jesus said take your bet and so there's a kind of scariness bed. They say you should have left your bed where it was and come back or it after sundown. Yeah right as if it was still going to be there after sundown then. Well I was totally destroyed and not only did the meaning of the Sabbath. This was not the Sabbath. G.'s last message was a Sabbath of the Jews. I'll tell you what I don't want anything to do with us out of the rabbis but I'll tell you something else I do want to keep the Sabbath of the Lord. Now notice what what happens in this story in verse sixteen. For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and sought to kill him what they did they seek to kill him I was here he was a man who has been paralyzed. I understand that and they say you should have healed him but at the same time they're plotting to kill somebody. What's worse killing somebody or killing somebody. Seeing the ridiculous extremes to get to the place there was talk to them. Verse eighteen therefore the Jews sought to kill Jesus because He not only broke the Sabbath that is according to him but. Also said that God was his father making Himself equal with God. Now let's go to our last peeling episode in John Chapter nine this is a very interesting one. Talk about rubbing it in. John Chapter nine and verse one now as Jesus passed by he saw a man who was blind from birth. He certainly would have died if Jesus had waited till sundown. Of course knock them blind since he was born. So I waited till sundown wouldn't made any difference. Once again it's a chronic case. Jesus is making a point. First true and His disciples asked Him saying Rabbi who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind. Jesus answered Neither this man nor his parents and but that the works of God should be revealed in him. This man was born for this special. Isn't that awesome. But this man had been born for this special moment when he met Jesus so that God would be glorified and then notice what G.. Verse six when he had said these things he's suspect number one. You say spending was forbidden on this or you know why because it was considered irrigation I'm serious. I kid you not. I can reach you from the court of Jewish law because I believe I don't think you would grow faster and speeding was eliminated so I would say number one that it says. He spat on the ground and made clay. That's the sin of needing which works forbidden also according to Jewish law needing because he made clay. And then as if that's not enough. Could you just have said See. But he's rubbing it in and it got fed up of three any and now I've got the eyes of the blind man went by today and then up to add insult to injury it has an effect on him in the pool latched on thus I don't have much to say then after soon after said according to their ridiculous restrictive rules. None of these things mentioned as rules and regulations of the Sabbath and the Bible. Now notice verse fourteen it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. Per sixty there or some of the Pharisees said This man is not from God because He does not keep the Sabbath. Was he keeping the Sabbath was a keepin the Bible Sabbath. Yes What did he not keep their it's the Sabbath. They have to see. But others said How can a man who was a sinner do such miracles. And there was division among them and of course at the end of the story Jesus basically says this man who was blind. Now sees because he realizes that I'm the messiah. But you say you see you are blind because you don't know. Now of course all of these healing miracles of Jesus on the Sabbath had one purpose and that was to show that Jesus had come into his ministry to do what he had predicted in the Gospel of Luke Chapter four he had come to deliver the captives. He had come to heal the sick. He had come to bless the poor to comfort the brokenhearted to those who are oppressed in other words. I'm glad Jesus came to do and by the way Jesus did this for a period of three and a half. He went about doing good and working out man's salvation. By the way do you know that the Sabbath as jesus teaches that in these miracles is the same Sabbath that we find in the Old Testament. Let's go to the Book of Deuteronomy Deuteronomy Chapter five. Most people only realize that the Ten Commandments were given in Exodus Chapter twenty but there is also another giving of the Ten Commandments and I want you to notice the motivation for keeping the Fourth Commandment the Sabbath commandment in Deuteronomy Chapter five and starting with verse twelve. It's as there observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Ask the Lord your God commanded you six days you shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God in it you shall do not do any work. You know your son or your daughter nor your manservant nor your maidservant know your ox nor your donkey nor any of your cattle neuer stranger who is within your gates that your man servant and your maid servant may rest as well as you. Now notice the motivation in Exodus twenty we're going to notice that the motivation for keeping the Sabbath is because God created the world in six days and rested. But here the motivation Plaza is different. Verse fifteen and remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt. They need to be on release. Yes remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. So what was the fight for Israel. It was a symbol of the delivering power of God from bondage. If you're going to look at the cap they would not only be remembering the creator but they would also be remembering their great deliverer from Bond. So Jesus worked for three and a half years on his agenda of saving man and at the end of a three and a half years the Bible tells us in John Chapter nineteen if you'll go with me there John Chapter nineteen and verse thirty not just the words that Jesus used. He's on the cross. These are his last words on the Cross says there in verse thirty. So when Jesus had received the sour wine he said what it is finished and bowing his head he gave up word he gave up the Spirit and Jesus finished the work of saving man. So he had fulfilled what he had predicted in the fourth chapter of Luke in that he had worked out man's salvation by living a perfect life by delivering man by blessing man and now he dies on the cross to pay the penalty for sin and he says it is finished. Let me ask you how much you have made and done to me Dean and to deliver himself. Absolutely not. Jesus did it I know he was the one who healed who restored who we did He was the one who lived a perfect life that he could give us in place of our imperfect like he was the one who died so that I don't have to die. In other words the co-worker of starvation during the three and a half years of which the Sabbath is a sign Jesus worked. For me. Then when he dies on the cross he says it is finished. And then the Bible tells us that Jesus rests in between. True. Yes and which is not something interesting. The Lord Jesus works and then rests. He works for man. He responds man he unwinds man he delivers man he read games man he does everything necessary for the salvation of man says it is finished and then he rests after performing the works of salvation. You rest in the two on the Sabbath day. Let me ask you did Jesus rest a little. Let's go to the Gospel of Luke Chapter twenty three. I don't want you to get distracted or lost now because we're going to make a tremendous parallel that we need to remember. Look Chapter twenty three and verse fifty six. Notice speaking about the ladies who were coming to embalm the body of Jesus then they returned and prepared spices and right went all the ills and they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. Let me ask you on that day where the disciples also resting as a good Jew. Yes And so interestingly enough the creator and the Redeemer is resting and there was that also had I known him are resting with him in what Jesus has done. Let me explain that they didn't exactly understand the implications of what Jesus had done at this point. They should of thought of Matthew. A chapter sixteen. If you'll go with me Matthew Chapter sixteen verse twenty one. This is six months before Jesus died and I want you to notice that Jesus had tried to warn them that it was going to die be buried and resurrect the third day. Matthew Chapter sixteen verse twenty one says from that time Jesus began to show it to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and succor many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed and be raised again the third day. Did Jesus try to warn the disciples that he was going to resurrect the third day. Most certainly did they pay any attention to what he was saying but it is interesting that when Jesus finishes his works of redemption his words of blessing men restoring that unbinding man saving man. He says it is finished and he rest in the two and those that are his followers rest. Now I find it more than coincidental that when the Bible speaks about redemption it really uses terminology which as a loosely to creation. In other words redemption from sin is really a new creation spiritually speaking. Not as what it says in second Corinthians chapter five and verse seventeen. So I can't read this chapter five and verse seventeen speaking about the redemption that we have in Jesus. It's very interesting to notice the terminology here. Second when inspired in verse seventeen The apostle Paul says there if anyone is in Christ. Here is what a new creation old things have passed away behold all things have become new. Do you notice that he. There redemption is spoken as if it was creation as if it were creation. Individuals who are in Christ Jesus who benefit from what Jesus has done. They are not creation in the sight of God things all things are passed away and all things are made what. No not us also if Asians and I will read chapter two and starting with verse eight evasions chapter two and verse eight. I ask you how much did man do to redeem himself. How much nothing how much good men have to work to save himself. Nothing. Oh dear. OK. Jesus and then when Jesus rests in the tomb those who came he came to redeem dressed in white. What he has done. Now notice what it says. Evasions chapter two and starting with verse eight. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And that not of yourselves. It is the good God. One of salvation is a gift of God who did the working. Jesus did the working that it says in verse nine not of works lest any man should go. So I want you to notice Jesus work out our salvation. He rests. But as he came to save rest with him which may other so Jesus works and then rests whereas we rest in what he has done and then we work. Notice what it says in verse again not as the creation terminology for we are his work. CURRIE they said this is Speaking of redemption created in Christ Jesus. What good works which God prepared beforehand. Then we should walk in them. Is there such a thing as Christians needing to perform good works. Yes or no. Yes but when do they perform the good works. Do they perform good works in order to be saved. Orderly purpose I'm going to vote because they have been saying it because they have been saved. So it's very interesting that Jesus' words three years during his ministry on the Sabbath he rests from his work and the disciples of course they rest with Jesus and then Jesus sends them off to work. I will notice this even clearer as we go back to Genesis. But before we go there actually let's go there now because of the shortness of time let's go to Genesis Chapter one Verse one Genesis chapter one and verse one let's notice what happened at creation because it's very similar to what happened at redemption. Genesis one verse one says in the beginning God created the heavens and the year. Who was this person who created the heavens and the earth. No doubt about it. In John one one two three which we've looked at before says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was WITH God and the Word was God he was in the beginning with God all things were created through Him. In other words the creator of Genesis was whom was Jesus Christ and then the Bible tells us that Jesus created this magnificent world before man even was around how much of the work of creation did man do. Not even this much not a little bit. Could man claim just a little bit of the credit. You know it's interesting man didn't say God created anything. Course man didn't exist when God created everything and even when God created the woman he put man to sleep so landed me was in the creation of the world. In other words man did not cooperate with God with Jesus. Man didn't do any of the work with God man didn't want to be created. Jesus wept. And then what would Jesus do the rest. Let's notice that. Let's go to Genesis chapter one and verse thirty one. Genesis one verse thirty one. This creator is Jesus. It says verse thirty one. Then God saw everything that he had made and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning where the sixth day when did Jesus finish the creation of the world. The sixteenth and then what did he do once every day. That's not as verse one of chapter two. Thus the heavens and the earth and all the host of them were finished and we noticed that word before. Just what did Jesus do when he finished his works of redemption. He said it is finished. Now he performs his work of creation according to Genesis. And when he has performed the works of creation it says that he what he finished. What did Jesus do after he finished working for the salvation of man in the Gospel. He rested in the two arms. And what it is I want to do. They were arrested with him. I mean ask that creation after Jesus had created the world and everything that is in it to give it as a gift to man. The Jesus our salvation three. The work that he had done. Does he give it to us free. Yes the creation all these beautiful things that got that got made that Jesus thing did to get them to Adam and Eve three. Yes as a gay. I notice what God did what Jesus being an actor. He finished his work of creation. Notice chapter two and verse one. Again Genesis chapter two. But thus the heavens and the earth and all the host of them were and on the seventh day God ended his work which he had done and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done so exactly what Jesus did in redemption. Did the rest on the Sabbath from his words of redemption. Does he give his redemption as a free gift to man. Did he work out man's salvation then man help him not by what by grace we are His workmanship but because he did it not because we did it. So the Sabbath is not only a sign of creation it is also a sign of redemption. Two reasons to keep the sense the creator rested and the creator was Jesus and the Redeemer rests on the same day. In this book. And swords. We rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in that he rested from his work which God had created and make whoever went who created and made God Did God rest by himself. You remember we read from the Gospel of Mark that the Lord Jesus said The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. So what else rested with Jesus at creation. Man did just like every day I want you to catch a very important point here. Gene. Did all the working of creation and did not create himself. Jesus finished his work of creation. Jesus rested on the Sabbath from his work of creation and he invited man to rest from the works of creation within. Do you notice that Jesus works and then he rests. Whereas man arrests and then he works at creation. You say I was but you know the Fourth Commandment the Fourth Commandment says said today if you show Labor in what and do all your work but the second thing is the fab. Well on your gut that man's first day on planet Earth was a day on what our grasp and enjoyment in what Jesus had made. Talk about a rest from strengths. What Jesus is saying is. I'm a Jew do you think I'm going to take care of you. I gave you all of this beautiful world. Is there any reason why you should feel that you're not going to be provided. What is there any reason to be stressed about. Oh. Because if God created us he's going to sustain. And the same goes true for redemption. Jesus as Doppie filled with guilt and was stressed over that guilt over salvation over all of these things. Don't be stressed out I want your salvation. And at three I give it to you as a gift. I'll tell you about. I can go jumping for joy knowing that I have been reading. And then it's been free. Then I don't have the paper what does jesus work. Lord only thing is like the rest. Need to rest we have to remember a world that's came from him to honor and glorify God Jesus for what he has done he says and redemption from now on I want you to do what you do. I want you to rest as I rested in the to not to remember me so much as your creator although that's important but so that you remember me as you are that has your Redeemer. Two reasons but you can see the problem with the Pharisees the Pharisees had come had converted a day of relief from stress into what they are stressed. Imagine now being I walked one step further than supposed today. Oh I can't look in the mirror because I work here. All you know I can't I really can't put anything over my head today to protect me from the sun because that would be equivalent for making it. What I got up later I'm like oh I can't kill it I just brush it off. When I was on fire. Hundred and twenty one conditional rolls added to the Sabbath. I was a day off. And Jesus came to deliver man from a day of stress and to make it a day of rest a day a battleship with him a day of joy a day to remember the deliver the healer the redeemer but respect her family is Christians today they only see this average in the line of. That's why the Christian world calls it the Jews so that's why they call it the Sabbath of Israel because they mistakenly think that the Sabbath of the rabbis in the sand and they even say the G.'s of these are not great the Bible says Jesus broke the Sabbath of the viruses and so we see that the Lord Jesus living with them. Exactly what he did I create the work for man's creation rested with man in man goes out of the birthday to work in the same way Jesus work man's redemption says it is finished. Rests his followers rest like they it's all we got. So the Sabbath is the sign of creation and redemption. Now allow me to go for just a moment to a beautiful passage and I'm not going to read the verses I just want to mention them to you. Exodus sixteen talks about the experience of the man many of you probably know about the manner when Israel was in the wilderness in the Old Testament of course they couldn't plant anything out there in the wilderness. They were there for forty years the Lord according to the Bible rain manna from heaven I mean God has a heavenly bakery to provide for although only by its great because he loves them and the Bible says a man by the way the word man I mean what is it you had when they came out of it all this white stuff on the ground if it might not mind what is it what is it and so on. The Bible tells us an exodus sixteen then rained down from heaven. Six days. And on Friday twice as much rain you can leave it there next. And Israel was supposed to pick up the manna every day but on Friday they were supposed to pick up twice as much. Because they were supposed to say Man up or the fab because there would be no man up falling from heaven on the Sabbath. They were to read why didn't you know that this is really in the property. You know who the boy is the man according to Jesus himself. But with me to John Chapter six The Man it was a symbol that is trying to teach us a great lesson. Chapter six of John and verse twenty one then the Jews murmured against him because he said I am in the bread which came down from heaven first forty eight I am the bread of life here Jesus is the your father's eight the man I am the wilderness an ardent this is the bed which comes down from heaven that one may need of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever and the bread that I shall give is my left which I shall give for the life of the world. What did the man I represent. Lesh. Oh geez now what would happen if the other like pick up manna on Wednesday and save it for thirty two games according to activists number one. Red worm. I mean if you have room in your house and it gets all of the hungry worms in revolt. But here's what we're going to next the man of great hands and what I say. Let me ask you what is it. Breathe worms and things I've been on. That when they picked up a man on my way and say the person I'm sorry but the man I was just as well as any other day. Well a man represents work place. What happened with the body of Jesus. The Bible says. Did not see corruption. Acts chapter two Acts chapter two and verse twenty seven Act two in verse twenty seven. We'll study this a little bit more in detail a little bit later in our seminar but not as what it says they're interested in using a prophecy from Psalm sixteen verse stand because you will not leave my soul in Hades nor will you follow your Holy One to what to she can rock and he was speaking about whom. Gee why did Jesus read worms and spin on the sand. Because he. One of them being so already in the ever thought of a man or God was teaching that Jesus was going to die. On Friday he was going to rest in the crew on the Sabbath and his body would not see a program which means that he would have to resurrect when the first night I find it interesting Some Christians say well after how do you know that the Sabbath the days are same SAVVA Well I could ask you how do you know that Sunday today the same Sunday. The fact is all Christians agree that the sabbath that is the same fabric of the name of Jesus which would mean that Sunday for fame Sunday at the days of Jesus. There's not controversy but you say oh wait a minute I asked her what about before Christ all the way back to creation how do we know that the same Sabbath the day is the Sabbath to go all the way back to creation that the seventh they could add the same seventy S creation. Actually it's not very complicated. Figure out Christians agree that the same Sabbath the day the sabbath of the days of Christ they agree with them because they say. It was supposed to be an honorable is right it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's Sunday the same Sundays out of the same time but you say what about before that letter box. If the Sabbath today is the same as in the days of Christ the Jesus people saying today what do you have kept the same Sabbath the day if it wasn't the same Sabbath of creation. No because he made you follow my point. Basically what I'm saying is that Jesus get the same Sabbath that we have today which is the seventh day and that means that he did know as a creator that that was the same servant that went back to creation or else he would have been keeping the wrongdoing and the creator would not have done that and there are some countries in Europe particularly who make Monday or they make the first day of the week instead of Sunday they make Monday and that would mean that Sunday is work seven. They all sound beautiful but it doesn't work according to the Bible. Go with me quickly to the Gospel of Luke. Let's notice the sequence of things looked up or twenty three. What they did Jesus die. What they did and I got it right you know I find it very interesting that Christians celebrate all the way they speak about good writing. If speak about Palm Sunday from another Santa gets lost in their garden and among Hispanics Well you know all we can pull out of this on the mingle there are some actually on Resurrection Sunday service somehow gets no mention in the celebration. I bet it would be ignored by the Christian world. Look at chapter twenty twenty three. And first fifty four that day was the preparation speak about the day that Jesus died and the Sabbath drew near where I know the Sabbath was coming first at the pipe and the women who had come with him from Galilee followed after and the observer too and how his body was laid. Then they returned and prepared spices and put it right only else and they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment that the death of Jesus do away with a fork and that if that if it be and why are they rested. Jesus died on Friday right. He rested in the two months I have it. Yes which they need to resurrect. Verse one of chapter twenty four now on the first day of the week very early in the morning. They and certain other women with them came to do bringing the spices which they had prepared and then it says that Jesus had already won and already resurrected which day that we could use resurrect the first being what it is that it's a day after the Sabbath. So Sunday the Sabbath day Sunday the first day not the second somebody might say our pastor don't be picky. Let me ask you gentleman what would happen if you decided to celebrate your anniversary a different day than it was. There's you have an understanding why do you live in. If your birthday is on June twenty sixth. I'm tired of selling already you know I think although if you like. That's right the independence of the United States on July twenty eighth. Why can't you. Because banks are rooted in history and things that I'm really going to history cannot be changed in all the say over according to Exodus thirty one of the sign. Between God and the sign of creation a sign of redemption. Before we go to the last aspect of what it is a sign up let me ask you this. Some of you watch the Olympics at all you know I was really amazed I watched were a few more moments of this American girl who won the ivy and when she was standing out there you know under the place where they received a medal and they were playing the Star-Spangled Banner and the flag of the United States is going up. She is crying Bollinger you know I could hold it here back myself. Now supposing that she had gotten up on the stand and suddenly before Up goes the flag of Cuba and the national anthem of Cuba how do you suppose she would have felt wait a minute now. What's going on here you would have gotten as excited. Well supposing she got not there have a good Colombian plan here and suddenly you know this American girl is there. Suddenly the Colombian plug is going up in your argument. You can all just wired this group who carries the baggage of the piece of core national anthem here is going to make it. What does it make a difference. Yes because the national anthem and the flag represent the nation which they stay the Sabbath is God's national anthem God that distinguishes his people because he is the creator and because he is that we deal with one final agreement and I want to deal with you know that the Sabbath is also a sign of the final restoration you know where you go with me quickly to the book of Isaiah Chapter sixty six. Isaiah Chapter sixty six. And let's read starting at verse twenty two. Isaiah sixty six in verse twenty two. And incidentally let me say something to you which is really exciting. When God created originally man did not see God create anything but you know that when God makes a new heaven and the earth were going to be able to sit down and watch him do it as we will be an hour. I didn't ask if you know God is going to use seven days again to recreate the heavens on the other is how do we know that. Well let's read Isaiah sixty six and verse twenty two. Why have the new heavens and the new. Which I will make it shall remain before me says the Lord. So show your descendants and your name really and it shall come to them from one to another. No moon in the Old Testament means money because the Jewish month was measured by between one and another so among them are white from the mother. All because we have something to do every month there are three that produces a different every month. So we have to go eat of the fruit every month. Somebody said I was going to be not true. I don't know it must be a big tree. It must be well thrown in when somebody picks at another when girls run away I don't know the Bible says I believe it and it will come to pass that someone don't want to another and from one side to another there are going to be a weekly cycle in the New World. How can you have a Santa that we don't have a we don't we're not only going to see the recreation of the world we're going to be able to see God say. They like and I was like that a bit and there was the are going to be able to see it with their own eyes. God is going to be storm seven they cycle somebody says you know what the Bible says that there's no need for Sun or Moon. Yes but it says in the city there in the thing you have to be careful about how we really thought that's what one would want to another and from one family to another all flesh will come to worship before me. Since then the Sabbath will become a sign of the final growth at least three reasons to keep the Sabbath according to one because Jesus created us and invited us to be true because Jesus worked out our salvation and he asked us to come and rest with him in what he has done really. Because after he has. This world and if they're going to blow it was I was thinking we will praise him for being the great. Ryssdal So that we can live with him. Well I love the stammer because of them being a fellowship with my beloved the day when I can take one one and then taking all of my quads and hold my head who might be or do it that they are parallel ship with him and I just remember coming to Georgia in the shipping with the brother and everything to be spiritual. You see most Christians they say they keep Sunday but actually they go to church on Sunday the Bible says that we're supposed to Sabbath from sundown to sundown twenty four hours. Oh why did you say what you want me or worse I don't like people say ten percent of my time so much that and when you think that at the time. Whatever Jesus the time will go by very bad because that's what the sound of the song remembering perhaps many of you here tonight have never heard about us or you didn't realize that the Bible teaches so clearly in the gospels particularly that Sabbath is the day that Jesus created and the Jesus rested from the works of redemption and that they were going to keep in the everlasting kingdom in honor of his resurrection. I would like to invite you to make your decision tonight to keep God's will is that we thank you because you're such a wonderful God you give us everything as a gift you created you redeemed and you are going to restore the kingdom come. What a wonderful God Who are we didn't earn it. We earn then you give us life. What a wonderful garden work. I asked Lord do you less every person gathered here tonight particularly those individuals who have not been keeping your all is that I ask Lord through your Holy Spirit you will impress their minds as to the importance of keeping this commandment because they love Jesus that they might experience the rest that covers this folding standard and not Jesus.
