Comments System Discontinued

1m read

For many months now, we have had a Comments system on our website. You may have noticed that it was labeled "Beta", indicating the experimental nature of this feature. We have reached the conclusion of this experiment, and it is with a degree of regret that we announce the immediate discontinuation of it.

While Comments systems are useful for promoting meaningful discussion about web-based content, our own Comments system has seen much less of this than we anticipated. The vast majority of comments have been in the form of praises and brief expressions of gratitude for our recordings. We do appreciate this, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank those who have taken the time to leave these notes. However, we feel that our Testimonies section is a better place for this kind of comment.

A very troubling kind of comment has been from those who are opposed to the doctrines and beliefs expressed in our recordings. Rather than engaging us in friendly and meaningful discussion, the majority of these comments have been unreasonable, rude denunciations. We have uniformly deleted these comments, as we do not feel that they are in the best interests of those who have left them, or others who may read them. If a person is unwilling to first engage us in friendly discussion, then we are unwilling to advertise their hatred of what we regard as Truth.

However, the tipping point in our decision to remove the Comments system was in relation to our latest web server stability issues. It was found today that by disabling the Comments system, a significant and crucial improvement in performance was gained.

Pending further feedback and consideration, the Comments system may yet return. But for now, we invite you to continue listening to our recordings and studying your Bible in prayerful consideration of the messages you hear. And if you would like to express your appreciation for this website, we invite you to submit a testimony.

Maranatha,

The AudioVerse Team
