Before becoming a nurse, he spent more than a decade in gospel ministry as a colporteur, evangelist, Bible teacher, and pastor. His research interests include the somatic expression of trauma and mental illness, as well as chronic pain and disease, in minority and underserved communities. He is passionate about finding innovative ways to integrate gospel ministry with the Seventh-day Adventist health message to carry forward the healing and teaching ministry of Jesus.
