John Jovan Markovic is Professor of Modern European and Church History at the Department of History & Political Science, Andrews University. He earned his BA (1982) in theology and history at Andrews University; and MA/PhD (1990) in history at Bowling Green State University. Professor Markovic was born in a small town 150 km south of Belgrade, Serbia, and immigrated to the United States in 1969. He is married to Vesna, and they have one son and one daughter.
