It’s become so bad, that my friend is looking for another job! Our story this week is about King Solomon who started out committed to God, but as time went by he changed. Now he wasn’t worshiping God, but idols! How can that happen? Let’s learn about it so we can avoid making the same mistakes.

Hello friends. Welcome to the Seed Pod for kids. Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus. Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day. Let's begin our time together praising him. The second parable that this song come you Thankful People Come, is based on is the seed that grows, but no one knows how. God has put into each little seed a spark of life. It can be dried up and look dead, but when the conditions are right, it starts to grow. Within just a few days, leaves appear the plant grows stronger and bigger and finally puts forth fruit. The same can be set of people. They may appear to not have interest in God or his spiritual things, but when the timing is right, they start to learn about God. They give their hearts to him and then they're safe in his kingdom, just like the harvest that is put safely in the barn. Sauna free from Welcome to Hide His Word, a special program where we take a few minutes to hide God's word in our hearts. Let's go ahead and get started. We have been learning Psalm 91. Let's start with verse 10, 11 and 12 to review today, let's try 10 and 11 and 12. No evil shall be follow you. We'll start right there. No evil shall be follow you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, in their hands, they shall bear you up list you dash your foot against a stone. Good job. Let's do that one more time, but let's start at verse nine because you have made the Lord, who is My Refuge, and we'll go all the way through at least through verse 12, starting with verse nine. Try to say it with me because you have made the Lord who is my refuge, even the most high, your dwelling place, no evil shall be fall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, in their hands, they shall bear you up list you dash your foot against a stone. Good job. All right. That's how much we're gonna do today. Next time we are going to learn verse 13, so if you wanna get ahead, get started and look it over, that's fine, but next time we're gonna learn. Verse 13, Have you ever had someone come to visit? Maybe you got the house looking all nice. Maybe you cleaned up your property or the front yard or the backyard. Maybe you cleaned out the garage. Got it already for your friends or your relatives to come and visit. We're gonna learn today about a very, very important visitor that Solomon had. But first, let's pray. Lord, come into our hearts as we study and we learn about Solomon and his wisdom. Help us to be humble and to share your love with others. In Jesus' name, amen. One time the queen of a country called Sheba. We used to have a dog named Sheba, but this was a country named Sheba. She decided to visit Solomon. She wanted to find out if all the wonderful things that she had heard about him were true. Was he really that wise? Was he really that rich? Did he really have such a beautiful temple? Would he be able to tell her the answers to all the hard questions that she wanted to ask him? Remember back in Bible times, they did not have Google. So often my boys are like, mom, do you know how tall the tallest mountain is? Or Mom, how far away is the country of Siberia or mom who's the strongest man in the world? Oftentimes when they come to me with those types of questions, I'm like, I have no idea. Let's Google it, and so I'll pull out my phone and we will Google it so that we can find out the information. The internet has so much information out there. In fact, it's very overwhelming. If you want to go stay in a hotel in a certain city, you can find out sitting in your living room without even calling on the telephone, who has the best prices? What people are saying about those hotels, what they're raiding 'em. You can read reviews and find out what people really think about the hotel. They didn't have that in Bible times. They did not have Google. They didn't have all the reviews where people would say, Hey, I just met with Solomon and this is what he said. He's so wise. They didn't have that. It was all by word of mouth, and so the Queen of Sheba decided that she was gonna go and visit Solomon and find out. Let's look at Second Chronicles, chapter nine, verse one, so we're gonna go, I have my Bible here. We're going to Second Chronicles. If you get to Ezra or Nehemiah, you've gone too far. Second Chronicles, it's after first and second Kings, chapter nine. Those are the big numbers. Let's see here. Here we go, chapter nine, and then let's read verse one. Second Chronicles chapter nine, verse one. Now, when the queen heba her of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon. Hard question, having a very great RET nude Kim spices, gold and abundance and precious stones, and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart. Did she come all by herself? No. The Bible says that she came with a great retina. That means a big group of people, camels that bore spices, golden abundance and precious stones, and she came and she talked to Solomon about everything that was in her heart. Everyone must have been very impressed when the king arrived for her visit. There were camels carrying precious jewels, gold, spices, and Solomon took time to talk to her, to spend time with her, to show her everything that she wanted to see, and he explained everything that she wanted to know. When she asked him hard questions, he answered every one of them no matter what they were about. Look at verse two. We're still in second Chronicles chapter nine, verse two, So Solomon answered all her questions. There was nothing so difficult for Solomon that he could not explain it to Her. Best of all, he told her about God instead of bragging. He said that his wisdom and everything he had were from God. The queen could tell that Solomon was truly humble and that he meant what he said. When it was time for her to leave, Solomon offered the Queen whatever she wanted as presence to take back to her country with her. We don't know what she asked for, but we do know that she praised God for what he had done for his people. Look at verse eight, second Chronicles, chapter nine, verse eight, Bless and be the Lord your God who delighted sending you on his throne to be king for the Lord. Your God has loved Israel to establish them forever. Therefore, he made you king over them to do justice and righteous. That's the kind of example we should have, that when people talk with us, that they see Jesus in us and that by our time spent with them, they realize that God is amazing, he's powerful, and he works in our lives. When the Queen of Sheba went back to her country, you can be sure that she didn't forget her new friend, Solomon, and the wonderful God that she had learned about Solomon had been a good missionary. Her visit had been even better than she expected. Look at verses five and six, verse five and six. Then she said to the king, it was a true report, which I heard in my own land about your words and yours. However, I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eye, and indeed, the half of your greatness of your wisdom was not told me you exceed the fam of which I heard. She didn't believe what people had told her, but after seeing for herself, she realized that it was true and Solomon had been a missionary. He had shared the love of God with her so that she went back with the knowledge of God and she even praised God. You know, boys and girls, when people are rich and important, do you think it's easier for them to be proud and cocky and arrogant or to be humble? It's easier to be proud, which was Solomon. As he visited with the Queen, he was humble and he told her that this was all God. It wasn't him. When you grow up, no matter what you do, no matter where you work, no matter how you live, I hope that each one of you can be kind, can be humble, and that no matter where you are, you share the love of God with all those around you. Let's pray. Lord, help us to be like Solomon in this story, that we can share your love with those around us, that you will give us wisdom and that we will use that wisdom in a humble way to spread your love to others. In Jesus' name, amen Gives wisdom. Who is good inside and enjoy is inside knowledge, enjoying to the man who is good at his side. Verse 26, Starting with Jesus is the most important thing you can do for your child. Reading, praying and sharing the wonderful stories in the Bible will help them to learn more as they grow, not only physically but also spiritually. But what about us busy adults? Sometimes it's hard to spend time with Jesus ourselves when life is so busy, but in order to be the best teachers for our kids, we need to prioritize our own spiritual needs.
