The Coming Oil Crisis

Heavenly Father, we are in need of your grace tonight.

Lord, I ask in a special way that you would come down and speak to us now.

Father, as angels take their places in this room, both good and evil, May your angels that excel in strength be victorious tonight.

Lord, may some soul who came into this room nonchalantly, not expecting anything serious to happen in his or her life.

May that person come face to face with you tonight.

Prepare their hearts, Prepare our hearts.

Well, I would like to thank S-E-Y-C for the invitation to speak to you.

I pray that this will be a blessing to you.

My little five-year-old girl certainly prays that this will be a blessing to you.

I got here today and she said, okay daddy, can you come home now?

And I said, just count to 4, days, and then I'll be back before you know it.

And so, I wanna pray that God will really speak to us over these next few days through his word.

How many of you are looking forward to being regenerated?

You know, we are living in incredible times.

Incredible things are happening all around us.

Over the last couple of weeks and months, things have been unfolding that are sending Seventh-day Adventists back to the Bible and the spirit of prophecy.

This evening, I'd like to talk to you about what I've entitled the coming oil crisis.

And I believe, beloved, that the oil crisis, and I don't know if you realize we're in an oil crisis right now, okay?

The coming oil crisis will, I believe, ultimately affect every 1 of us, and will lead some, will lead many on planet Earth to end up receiving the mark of the beast.

So tonight we're gonna pick apart this oil crisis and I wanna share with you a couple of facts that I found interesting.

I didn't know it either until I looked it up.

Of those 98, 60 of them have reached their geological peak.

In other words, they are now, scientists believe, that 60 of the 98 countries are running out of oil.

The fact is that when demand exceeds supply, chaos is going to hit.

When this takes place, when oil gets more and more scarce, it drives the prices of everything else up higher, and 1 thing that increases is crime.

I had 1 of my members parked in the parking lot of our church on Sabbath, had a full tank of gas, And after the service went outside, car wouldn't start, someone had siphoned or stolen his gas.

People are getting desperate and as oil goes up, everything else is going up, and when prices go up, crime, lawlessness, increases.

Travel is also becoming more difficult because of the oil crisis.

They were going to charge me $140 for the 3 bags.

It's like, Oh, they do this to us all the time.

The airlines are now charging for everything.

I don't really know that, I'm just saying that.

But the oil prices are driving, it's causing travel to be more difficult.

Our prices for tickets are themselves going up.

People are reverting to driving, and even that is becoming more and more strenuous because of the costs.

And we know that because of this, there are many people that are looking for what?

Alternative forms of energy, alternative sources of energy.

Beloved, I believe that this oil crisis that is causing crime to increase, that is causing travel to become more difficult, that is leading people to look for different alternative sources, all these things are gonna play a major role in bringing about the final events we've often spoken about.

The Bible actually tells us and has spoken long ago about an oil crisis.

And in case you thought tonight I was going to bore you with the oil crisis that is taking place in the Middle East and here in this country, I'd like for you to open your Bibles, if you have them, to the book of Matthew, chapter 25.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto 10 virgins which took their lamps...

And 5 of them were wise, and 5 were foolish.

They that were foolish took their lamps and took no...

Just getting a little excited, that's all.

Took oil in their vessels with their lamps while the bridegroom tarried they all slumbered and slept and at midnight there was a cry made behold the bridegroom cometh go ye out to meet him then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps, and the fool is said unto the wise, give us of your oil, for our lamps have gone out.

Beloved, I believe that the oil crisis that is going on in the physical world today is simply distracting or diverting God's people, the minds of God's people from the real oil crisis that we are facing, and that is an oil crisis that is happening in the very midst of God's church today.

The Bible says, continuing on, in verse 9, but the wise answered and said, not so, lest there not be enough for us in you, but go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut.

Afterward came also the other virgins saying, Lord, Lord, open up to us.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour that the Son of Man cometh.

Beloved, we are looking at a verse that is describing the church in the last days, and that verse tells us the time is coming where we will find ourselves in an oil crisis.

I'd like for you to turn with me to the book of Exodus chapter 27, very quickly, Exodus 27.

Exodus chapter 27, and I want you to notice with me, verse 20.

Exodus 27, verse 20, the Bible says there, and thou shalt command the children of Israel that they bring thee pure what?

Oil, olive, beaten for the light to cause the lamp to burn out.

We see here from this verse, beloved, that the purpose of oil in God's mind was to cause the lamps to burn out.

Always, continually, that our lights would never go out.

The 5 foolish virgins did not carry enough oil and therefore their lamps went out.

But notice again with me the book of Zechariah chapter 4.

Zechariah chapter 4, notice with me, verse 4.

It says, And he said unto me, What seest thou?

And I said, I looked, and behold, a candlestick of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and his 7 lamps thereon, 7 pipes to the 7 lamps, which were upon the top thereof, and 2 olive trees by it, 1 upon the right side of the bowl, the other upon the left side.

So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, what are these, my lord?

Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be?

The Oil Crisis Part 2: Striking Oil

It is good to be here with you again tonight.

How many of you did some drilling sometime today?

Before I share the message for this evening, I just want to share a little bit about myself.

I will be sharing in more detail on Sabbath in 1 of my workshops.

In my college years, 1990, between 1990 and 1993, my brother, 2 best friends, myself, we signed an 8 album contract with EMI Records.

We were excited because we had formed a hip-hop group and it was our dream to become superstars.

So we signed this 8 album $800, 000 contract with EMI Records and dropped out of school.

If you had seen me 11, 12 years ago, dreadlocks, pants sagging, my code name was Yoda.

And I call myself Yoda because I wanted to have the appearance of wisdom.

I had not, I was not brought up in any particular religion, so I had never heard of the term Seventh Day Adventist until it was introduced to us while we were recording our first album.

And halfway through that album, my friends and I were hanging out smoking and drinking.

We met a Seventh Day Adventist who was smoking and drinking with us.

We didn't know he was a Seventh-day Adventist.

We didn't know what a Seventh-day Adventist was.

But he noticed that In our lyrics, we would talk about the book of Revelation, had no idea what we were talking about, but he noticed that we had an interest in the Bible, and so 1 night as we were all hanging out, smoking and drinking, he asked us, what day do we think the Sabbath is on?

Myself and probably there was maybe about 20 or so people that had left school to live the party life with us and almost all of us got baptized into the church.

Including my younger brother, who is now pastoring in Atlanta.

Ever since I was introduced to this message, it has held a very special place in my heart.

I was sharing with someone just a couple days ago that when we first walked into an Adventist church, you know, 20 of us, dreadlocks, baggy pants, chewing gum.

20 dreadlocked, chewing gum, jewelry-wearing, baggy pants guys walking into a Seventh-day Adventist church.

We sat down and everything the pastor said, God is love, we were like, did you hear that?

This is the deepest thing we have ever heard." He would say, remember to pay your tithe.

And everybody else was sitting around us like...

And we were like, didn't they just hear him say that Jesus is God?

And so that's kind of continued on to some extent.

You know, sometimes I get excited and I'm like, you know, I remember coming into the church and I thought, you know, I had learned so much in like 2 months.

I was convinced that anyone that was in a church for like 3 years and above, I just wanted to fall at their feet and worship.

It seemed to be, beloved, that as I came in, I felt that I had found treasure that other people just were kind of kicking to the side.

And so Excuse my excitement, because I'm still excited.

I haven't gotten used to it, and I don't think I will ever get used to it.

I want to try to instill that passion, that joy, that love of the treasure that many of you have been privileged to grow up in.

I wouldn't have all the baggage that I have to deal with being out in the world and being polluted by Satan, you, those of you who have had the privilege, I beg of you, don't treat the precious pearl like garbage, amen?

And since I've come into this church, a message has become the center of my preaching.

I want you to pray with me as we begin in the book of Revelation chapter 18.

Heavenly Father, I ask this morning, this, I ask tonight, Lord, help me, that you would please guide us deeper into your word.

Tonight, Lord, as we talk about the oil crisis again, as we talk about the subject of striking oil, Lord, take us deep that our hearts may be filled.

Revelation chapter 18, verse 1, the Bible tells us here, and after these things, I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power, and the earth was lightened with his glory.

We are told in the final days that this planet will be enlightened with glory, will be enlightened.

People will become illumined, as it were, about the character of God.

God's people are to lighten the earth with his glory, which means if they are to lighten the earth, they must have lamps.

Well, The Bible tells us where that glory is.

What is that glory with which the earth is to be lightened?

The answer is 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 6.

And I'm gonna try to move as quickly as I can tonight, so I may not give you time to turn in your Bibles, but I encourage you to turn anyway.

Second Corinthians chapter 4, verse 6, the Bible says, for God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God.

So where is the glory of God found, everyone?

Notice this then, it is the glory that is found in the face of Jesus Christ that is to lighten the entire world.

The face of Jesus is to be revealed to the world.

And now I want you to notice with me Exodus chapter 33.

Exodus chapter 33, because beloved, we must understand that we must get that glory.

We are the ones, Jesus will not come down himself, he wants to manifest His glory through who?

So that leads us, beloved, to the question, if He is to reveal the glory of His face through us, then what on us needs to be lighted up?

Alright, notice with me, how do we get shiny faces?

The Bible tells us, well, let's look, notice Exodus chapter 33.

Exodus 33, and let's take a look at verse 9.

The Bible says here, and it came to pass as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle and the Lord talked with Moses.

Notice with me again, verse 10, and all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door and all the people rose up and worshipped every man in his tent door.

The Bible tells us here that Moses spoke with God in the what?

Cloud, and Moses spoke with God in the cloud.

In fact, if you notice with me Exodus chapter 34, Exodus chapter 34 and notice verse 5.

Exodus 34 verse 5, the Bible tells us here, and the Lord descended in the Cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed what the name of the Lord Moses had been called up Numerous times Moses had been invited to speak with God how?

Face to what face where in the cloud Now how many of you remember what the cloud represents?

The cloud is the place where we are called to commune with God.

Remember yesterday we learned that Satan said, I will exalt myself above the cloud.

I don't need a personal relationship with Christ.

I don't need a face-to-face connection with God.

The Oil Crisis Part 3: God’s Fire Drill

How many of you are happy that the Sabbath hours are here?

I have to tell you that For the first time since I have been here since Wednesday, I feel regenerated.

Well, I flew out from California, it was an overnight trip, didn't get good sleep on the plane, got here and had to drive a little while to to get to the campus and that thing called jet lag set in so I couldn't really sleep that well.

Got up and preached on Wednesday night, still tired.

Thursday, couldn't get the sleep pattern down.

Last night I got and today I feel regenerated.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for what you are about to teach us.

Father, I ask that your angels that excel in strength would take every uncouth thing from this place.

Lord from the back of this room to the front may every eye may every ear and may every heart be in tune not listening to me but listening to you speak to us Lord, we pray in Christ's name, Amen.

We learned over these past few days that we are in an oil crisis.

We understood that while the world is looking at what is happening out there in the world, as God's people we are to be focused upon the oil crisis spoken of in the Bible, in particular Matthew chapter 25.

The time is coming where there will be a shortage of oil.

Notice with me in the book of Matthew chapter 25.

Matthew chapter 25 describes this last day oil crisis with these words, then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto 10 virgins which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

They that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

Beloved, I believe that there is a difference between the sleep that the 5 wise virgins experienced and the sleep that the 5 foolish experienced.

You see that word sleep also signifies rest.

You see when the when the 5 wise virgins wake up, they are regenerated.

They have been refreshed by the Spirit of God and beloved I believe that the rest that these 5 wise virgins experience was that rest spoken of in Matthew 11 28 when Jesus says come unto me all you that labor and I will give you rest Ecclesiastes 5 verse 12 tells us the rest of a laboring man is sweet.

You see the 5 foolish slept a careless sleep.

How many of you ever had to prepare for a final and slept good the night before because you were prepared?

How many of you ever had to prepare for a final, thought you were prepared for the final and slept a good sleep you thought until you woke up and got to the finals.

There was a different kind of rest beloved for the 5 wise and the 5 foolish and so I want to present to you tonight that the difference between those who are wise and those who are foolish is that the wise know how to rest.

Please listen to this verse as it describes to us the rest that God's people are to experience in these last days.

Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 9, the Bible says, there remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

I wanna share a story with you tonight, a story that is so incredible, nonetheless true, I pray that it will change your view forever about who you are and why you are a Seventh-day Adventist.

This story is not a make-believe story, It is a story that will unfold before our very eyes in the Word of God.

I want to share with you, beloved, why the war in the last days is all about rest.

You see, this word rest in Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 9 is the Greek word sabbatismos.

There remained therefore a Sabbath keeping to the people of God.

But this sabbatismos that's being spoken of is not Necessarily a seventh-day Sabbath-keeping that is primarily being spoken about it is in reference It is using the story of the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt and were on their way to where?

That's where the children of Israel were to have rest and God now uses this very story in Hebrews chapter 3 and verse 4 and then concludes by saying there remained therefore or there still is a rest for the people of God to enter into that word rest is actually or that term rest actually points us to the kingdom of heaven the heavenly promised land.

How many of you want to enter into God's rest?

This is absolutely amazing God calls heaven his Sabbatismos I'm gonna give you a couple of seconds.

Why does God call heaven His sabbatismos?

God calls heaven his resting place and we find our answer when we go to the Old Testament and look up what it meant when a land had rest.

God here is speaking to the children of Israel and he's telling them listen when I bring you into the promised land, if you rebel against me, here's what's going to happen.

I will scatter you among the heathen and will draw out a sword after you.

Your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.

Verse 35, as long as it lieth desolate it shall rest because it did not rest in your Sabbaths when you dwelt upon it.

Beloved what God was saying here, what he was warning Israel was when you sin against me, you bring a state of unrest in the land.

And so he said if you do this, I will put you out of the land so that the land will have what?

You look at various places in the Old Testament where God, when God gave peace to Israel, it said the land had rest for 40 years.

Rest represents a place where there is no rebellion against God.

Because it is a place where everything is at rest in Him.

Now, I want you to notice the book of Revelation chapter 12.

You see not only was heaven God's, Not only is heavens God's sabbatismos in the future, heaven was God's sabbatismos in the past.

I'll be getting excited to warm you guys up to get excited.

Heaven was God's sabbatismos in the past.

It was a place of pure and perfect peace.

Sabbatismos until you guys are slow tonight until Something happened in heaven.

Revelation 12 verse 7 says, there was what?
