It's nice to see you here for our Revelation class.

Next weekend I'll be gone for Thanksgiving and all that, so There will be no revelation class next Sabbath.

Some of you may be out of town as well for the Thanksgiving holiday.

And so we won't have revelation next week.

However, we will continue the week after that and we're rapidly coming to the end of the book.

We've covered a lot of really great material.

And also a reminder, these recordings do go up on AudioVerse, so for purposes of the recording, If I ask you to read a verse or if you have a comment or a question, please raise your hand and someone will bring a microphone to you.

At this point let's go ahead and bow our heads for a word of prayer and we will get started.

Father in heaven we thank you that we can study the book of Revelation.

We thank you for the power that's found in your word.

And as we study today, we pray that you would open up our minds to the deep things of God.

And last week we basically got through the first 2 verses.

We hit really some of the key points last time.

But just as a quick way of review, Revelation 18.1 is 1 of the key verses of Revelation.

It's a time when an angel comes down from heaven having great power.

I'm just going to review what we discovered last week, and that is that the angel that lightens this earth, that lightens the earth with its glory, describes the time when the latter rain is poured out on God's people.

And the word power is from the Greek word dunamis, which connects to Acts chapter 1, verse 8.

So you have latter rain, Holy Spirit power filling God's people and therefore God's character, which is his glory, lightens the entire earth.

And the significance of this is, as we go through these passages, that in verse 4 we see that there's a message to come out of Babylon that you receive not of her plagues.

These are the 7 last plagues we've studied about.

And when you study the 7 last plagues and you understand that Babylon is the 1 who receives the outpouring of the 7 last plagues, and when we understand that all the world wonders after the beast, humanly speaking we have to ask the question, well if I'm alive during that time, how do I escape being part of the whole world that wanders after the beast?

And the answer is, God in His great mercy sends a message that lightens the earth with its glory that calls his people out of Babylon so that they don't receive the plagues.

So God is merciful, he gives everyone a chance.

Of course the caveat to that is those of us who know the truth, by the time that message comes down with great power from heaven, we've already had our chance to accept the truth, so we better have accepted it and be living it by that time because there's, I mean, judgment begins at the house of God, there's no second chances so to speak with us.

Once that happens, we'll either be for God or against God and then this message will be for the rest of the world, those who are still in Babylon.

And then verse 2, we see that the strength of this message is a repetition of the second angel's message.

So at the end of time, just before the plagues are poured out, the 3 angels' messages are going to come back in full force, and the second angels' message is especially highlighted.

Now we know from inspiration that the 3 angels' messages go in their order, first, second, and third.

First angels' message includes the message of the everlasting gospel and the judgment and creation.

And when God's people have a full grasp and understanding of that, then God empowers them with latter rain power.

We give the second angel's message, and it's a message that calls people to come out.

It's the habitation of devils, every foul spirit, every unclean and hateful bird.

And then, picking up in verse 3, which we really didn't get to last week.

Why don't we go ahead, so that's basically a summary of what we looked at last week.

And let's have a volunteer to read verses 3 through 5.

Revelation chapter 18 verses 3 through 5.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her.

And the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

So The question is, what is it about Babylon that has fallen?

And we studied last week that we see the phrase is fallen twice, that represents papal Rome and the daughter churches, the Protestant churches that have joined with her.

And the 2 key teachings that cause them to be Babylon are Sunday sacredness and the immortality of the soul.

And when we get to verse 3 we see all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

We've studied from before that wine represents false doctrine, and I just identified some of the key false doctrines of Babylon.

And notice it says that The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her.

Now, we've already studied this before, but we see that Babylon is being judged.

Babylon is going to receive plagues Because Babylon is the habitation of devils, the hold of every foul spirit, and also it's committed fornication with the kings of the earth.

And fornication is an unlawful union, literally speaking, between man and woman.

And biblically speaking, woman represents a church, this is an unlawful union between church and state, or the kings of the earth.

And Babylon, who we see in Revelation 13, it was the dragon or the devil who gave his power, seat and authority to Babylon, is committing fornication with the earth.

So essentially you have an alliance of church and state in which Satan is at the head of this.

And because of this, God sends this message that is the strongest message ever given to mortal man and says come out because they're setting up a throne here on this earth that is unlawful and furthermore I'm not going to share my throne with Babylon.

Either you come out of Babylon and receive the seal of God or you stay in there and receive the mark of the beast.

Because God is not going to share his throne with that which is unlawful and that which is unclean.

And so the Bible makes it very clear and it's very strong.

In Revelation chapter 2, in verse 18 through 22, we won't read those, but if you look at those on your own, you'll see here that this is the time of the church of Thyatira.

And you'll see here that Jezebel is brought into view.

Now, the first time that Babylon has fornications with the kings of the earth is under the reign of the church of Thyatira.

And this history is being repeated at the end of the world.

This is why Babylon has fallen, has fallen.

And, Syetirah, for those of you who may have forgotten, represents the period of church history from 538 to 1798.

So, this has happened before, and it's gonna happen on an even greater scale, in a shorter period of time, but on a greater worldwide scale even than what happened in the Thyatira period.

Now notice here, kings of the earth have committed fornication, where there are also the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacy.

So not only are the political leaders in alliance with Babylon, but so are the financial leaders.

And that makes sense because when you go back to Revelation 13, it says unless you receive the mark of the beast, you can't buy or sell.

So it makes sense that the financial leaders would be in union with Babylon as well.

And by the way, now's a good time in Earth's history to be paying attention to the financial leaders of this world and what they're trying to do and how that connects to Babylon and the end time scenario.

We have answers to some of the troubling questions that people have out there.

I mean, I heard on the news the other day, people are saying, you know, nobody knows how low it's gonna go.

We don't know when exactly, but we know how it's gonna end up.

And as an aside, now is not the time to be putting hundreds of thousands of dollars into the stock market.

And actually, under inspiration, Ellen White, it's in series B of the special testimony said to put your money in stocks would be like Putting your talent you're burying your 1 talent in the earth I guess some of the administrative not taking that counsel seriously but they would have been better off if they had, especially in light of current events.
