The Two Greats

Every time I come to Denmark, I'm reminded of how in-depth I am to Denmark.

Because if it wasn't for Denmark, I don't know if I would exist because my parents met as they were studying Scottsburg in here in Denmark, so I'm thankful for Denmark and it's always nice to come to Denmark and when I was 17 years old and My life got a drastic change God changed my basically my the biggest goal aim of my life from becoming a professional soccer player, I was really into soccer, and winning soccer games, to working for God and winning souls for his kingdom.

And in this time I started to give Bible studies, I started preaching, I started do many different things and that I would never have imagined and have yeah, experienced a lot of exciting things since then, from my first mission trip to Peru in 2006.

I've had the privilege to be involved with the Impact Movement since we started up in Norway and had the privilege of visiting many different impact, most of the impact chapters that have started across Europe the last years and also been much involved with the ASI Scandinavia convention and Bible working from the very north of Norway, the northernmost town in the world, for 2 years, for instance, and some different places.

It's a pleasure to follow God and serve him.

And I can say today, you know, I wouldn't exchange the life I'm living now for anything, not for 1000000 crowns or a weekly wage of 1000000, or not for becoming a professional soccer player, even if I became the best soccer player in the world, because I know that the life my creator and redeemer leads me to live, that's the best life I could ever live.

And I know that the same is the case with you.

The life he leads us to live is the best life we could ever live.

God has great plans for all of us and it's exciting to learn more about what that is and to follow them.

2 and a half years ago, I was in this very church, this very building.

I think Elin was here, maybe some others.

I was sitting down approximately right here.

And it was soon my turn to go up, it was Sabbath morning.

And I was turning around and I was looking up, you know, to this window over there, up in the corner, you know, upper floor there.

The translator was standing, you know, she had this headset, she was going to use this mic, right, so she would hear what is said in the microphone and she speaks in another microphone and those who need translation have these headsets, yeah.

So but I'm sitting here, you know, it's soon my turn to go up and speak and I turn around I look up there and I see that she stands like this she looks very stressed she's waving with her arms and I'm like well something is wrong here and so I told the technicians in that time they were sitting over here and so 1 of them ran up there you know and tried to and they were talking with her and But then it was my turn to go up, so I didn't think so much more about it.

I just went up and started sharing and concentrated on what I was going to share.

But afterwards, they told me what happened.

And she said that it didn't work as it should.

In her headset she could only hear this noise, you know, she didn't really hear, she couldn't hear what was said down in the microphone down here.

And the technician came up, he looked at it, he couldn't figure out, he had no clue what is the problem, he didn't know what is the problem, you know, he didn't know.

So he was looking, trying to, you know, He didn't get it.

But then I came up and I started to speak and in the very moment when I start to share, when I start to speak, suddenly everything works fine.

No problem at all and for the rest of the meeting everything works fine.

And he didn't know, he couldn't explain, everything worked.

And I believe God, he is a good technician, he knows how to fix problems.

He wants people to get to know him, to get to know the gospel, get to know the message of the Bible better and better.

And when we do what we can to share and to learn, He will lead us, He will bless us and He will do great things.

And I'm sure also this week we will have here the Impact Copenhagen.

God will work, God will bless, God will do special things.

And every mission trip, every impact trip I've been to, God is, it has been a blessing and God is reaching out to people.

And I'm sure he also will do that this week.

So it will be exciting to see what God has in store for us.

I'm going to share a message which is, or basically I will have 3 evening meetings and then some other workshops in the mornings.

But the evening meetings I will share is, it's a title like a series, I will call it an outworking of his will.

I will talk about how our lives can be a simple outworking of the will of God.

And I'm very excited about these messages.

I've shared some of it before, but I've never shared a series like this before.

And, but it's the things I will share has been a blessing to me, and I trust it will also be a blessing to you.

Either you have much background knowledge about the Bible or not, I think we will all be able to get a blessing out of those messages.

So we'll kind of start up, introduce that series a little bit tonight.

And tonight will be a little different, but we'll kind of introduce it a little bit and then we'll look more into an outworking of his will the next 2 nights.

But before we get into the message night, I would like to have 1 more word of prayer.

I will invite you to bow your heads and I will kneel up here.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the privilege of coming together.

And you have promised, Lord, that where 2 or 3 are gathered in your name, you are in the midst of us.

And I want to thank you for that, thank you that you are here.

And you want to speak to us, speak to our hearts, Lord.

I was reminded yesterday, I read this quote, the Bible wasn't given to us for our information, but for our transformation.

And Lord, I want to pray that the message we hear tonight and the messages we hear this week will not just give us some more information, but I pray, Lord, that it will be a transformation of our lives, that you will touch our hearts with your Spirit, that you will, you have promised, Lord, to give your Spirit to those who pray.

We want you to reveal more of your, who you are and your great plan for our lives.

Lord, help us to be open to what you want to tell us this night and this week.

Help us to be open to receive it, whatever it is you want to tell us.

I pray, Lord, that you may tailor make the message tonight.

I pray that all of us may be able to take something with us, a word from you that we may understand what this message means to us individually in our situation, in our life.

Thank you Lord that you hear and that you will answer this sincere prayer in Jesus' name.

Michael Hazel, you see a picture up in the corner there, or Michel Hazel, or however you would pronounce it in German.

He's a professor in a Amethyst University in the States, currently in Southern.

But when he was 20 years old, he had the opportunity to fulfill, you could say, a dream of his.

He had opportunity to go to Europe, to study in Europe for a year.

And there he could learn the language of his, that he spoke as he grew up as a boy.

He had opportunity, the privilege to go to Bogenhofen in Austria.

I had the privilege to be there this last spring.

I'm currently learning the trade of an electrician, like a tent maker trade.

And so I was still working a little bit with my hands.

And it's a beautiful school, a small school, empty school in Austria.

So he had opportunity to go there and he went there about 150 students, you know, and it was a nice atmosphere, kind of like a family atmosphere.

And he was used to this big universities.

It was quite different, but he thought it was nice.

But 1 thing that he didn't like so much, that was the cold, the temperature of the weather.

He was used to a more warm, a warmer climate.

And you know, this day, it was 1 of these wet fall experiences.

Always you had this constant drizzle, this constant rain in the air.

And he said, in this particular fall when he was there, he could count maybe on 2 hands the amount of days with sunshine.

It wasn't a very nice fall he was there, a lot of rain and this gray weather.

1 day he was in the dining room of the school and his father called him from the States and so he went over to the phone room and first he had a small talk and then his father told him, hey, Mike, your mother and I have been talking and we are going to Florida again this year for vacation for Christmas and we're going to this island, I don't remember the name of the island, Kilargo or something outside by the coast of Florida in the Mexican Gulf.

And basically they tell Mike, they say, hey, we're wondering if you want to join us for Christmas to go there.

And The relatives are all going to be there.
