1. The Missing Ingredient

This message was presented at the GYC 2015 conference called Chosen Faithful in Louisville, Kentucky.

My name is Gregory Jackson and this is session number 1 and it is the breakout session called the missing ingredient.

As we go along I mean each each 1 of my seminars will build on the next and each 1 will bring an aspect that that is a little different from maybe from what you heard because, you know, as I introduced the session yesterday evening, the question that has always perplexed me being fourth generation Adventist is, why hasn't Jesus come yet?

And you know, I'm really tired of preaching about it.

I want to do something that ushers it in.

And I believe that God has given me the missing ingredient because something is missing.

And I believe that the Lord has given it to me.

It will be a little different because insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

We have to have something different but not so different that it changes the pillars of truth.

But as we have this, you're going to find out that this is the key.

And I've done 36 years of ministry, as 1 of my members there, and the Lord has impressed me to come out of that and to transition into this phase where I can go wherever needed to spread this as well.

I want you to hear it and judge it for yourself.

If it blesses you, spread the word, because I'm convinced that this is it, folk.

Now, let me order a little before I get there.

Let me ask you, and don't worry about the answer, because I want you to just give me the traditional answer so that won't put anybody in jeopardy.

What have you been told that when asked, what is Jesus waiting for?

But I'm glad you at least had that basis.

Because most times people say, he's waiting for us to take the gospel into all the world.

The cause is reproducing his character, then it will go.

But even though we say that, we focus on Getting the message out.

And really, our evangelism is based on the Laodicean attitude.

We're rich and increased with goods, we're okay.

And we need to straighten the world out when the church is dying.

And we need to first get our house in order, then this gospel will spread so quickly it will blow our minds.

Here's what we're told in 2 Peter 3, 9, you'll all agree very quickly.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness.

But his longsuffering to us were not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are therein shall be burned up." Now here we're coming to the reason.

"'Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting until the coming of the day of God wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved and the elements shall melt with fervent heat." And then hear this, and nevertheless, we according to his promise look for new heavens and new earth wherein dwelleth what?

Wherefore beloved seeing that you look for such things be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace without spot and blameless." Now here's the question without spot and blameless that's a scary thing to say sometimes because people have taken that and gone all kind of directions.

But let's look at it and see because what is it that keeps us from being without spot and blameless or what is it that will make us without spot and blameless?

When the fruit is brought forth, and this is the answer you gave.

Immediately he put it in the sickle because the harvest is come.

Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of himself in his church.

When the character of Christ shall be what?

Perfectly reproduced in his people, then, then he will come to claim them as his own.

Now that tells me that the key to hastening his coming is not working on getting the gospel out.

It's working on getting the character reproduced in my life.

When that happens, when that happens, Then God will work mightily and this gospel will go around the world so quickly.

We are always measuring where we have preached the gospel.

I tell you, beloved, we can get in there and it won't change anything.

We have it right here in the United States in our own churches, and look at the state of our churches.

Something different, something is missing.

When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced, how is it perfectly reproduced?

I'm going to carry on with this a little further.

It is the privilege of every Christian not only to look for but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Were all who profess his name bearing fruit to his glory, how quickly the whole world would be sown with the seed of the gospel, quickly the last great harvest would be ripened and Christ would come to gather the precious grain.

That's the key to this generation doing what your goal is, ushering in His coming soon and very soon.

And I'm going to tell you, this session, it's not gonna all be done in this session.

This thing, 1, and we're gonna go further and further into this truth.

And each time, with each session, it's gonna get a little deeper.

And I'm telling you, you're gonna see why the Sabbath is the seal at the end, but each block has to be built on the next block on the next block.

Now, we see that, we've already said that, we are showing our lives.

So the preaching done, the preaching is, this lets us know, the preaching is not done with our lips, it's done more so with our lives.

And that's why the gospel hasn't really gone around the world.

It can't go around the world until we reproduce its character in our lives.

And then when people see Jesus in us, they will see the gospel walking and living live and in living cover.

We talk about God and then we act like the devil.

If somebody was selling you a beauty product and they looked as ugly as sin.

They're looking to see Jesus and they ought to see it in those who claim to be his remnant church.

2. God’s Righteousness or Yours?

Okay we're going to begin to settle down where we're starting in just a few.

Oh yes, while you're settling in, let me just give this announcement.

We're going to go now into the session 2.

And The topic is Surrender, the Key to Righteousness by Faith.

The substance of everything is surrender.

And we're going to see how it's the key to righteousness by faith, which is the gospel.

Again, Here is 1 of the clearest definition, it is the clearest definition, that's why again, I know this is inspired of God.

You will never see this kind of quote anywhere else.

No other commentary that you get on the Bible will give you this.

Holiness is constant agreement, best definition of holiness I've ever seen.

You see, if we're going to deal with righteousness by faith, we have to get a new definition we have to redefine just like you had to redefine goodness in the last session.

Everything in each session you have to redefine some things.

We're going to have to redefine our understanding of righteousness, holiness.

Continually the enemy of God will seek to draw us away from our allegiance.

But while we cleave to him who gave himself for us, we are safe.

In heavenly places, Page 33, paragraph 4.

Now, here's the traditional definition that we as Adventists traditionally have always done.

Whosoever committed sin transgresses also the law, for sin is transgression of the law.

And you must not stop at that verse if you're going to fully understand it and fully quote it.

You have to deal with the whole context, all of it.

Because we can use the Bible to say anything as long as we take it out of context.

So it says, Whosoever committed sin transgresses also, in addition to you also transgress the law.

Because, you know, and it is going to say, for sin is transgression of the law.

Verse 5, and you know that he was manifested to took away our sins.

Whosoever abideth in him constantly agree with him.

And you're going to understand why you have to constantly agree in a minute.

But anyway, and you know that he was manifested to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.

Now, folks, if you're into behavior, you're not going to be able to handle that question, that quote right there.

So what I'm telling you right now, you're going to have to redefine your definition of sin too.

If you accept the definition of righteousness, it will help you define what sin is.

If righteousness is constant agreement with God, and that means abiding in Him, guess what sin is?

And I'm going to tell you why in a little while.

And that's what's going to bring the difference, this change.

You see, if we stay stuck on what we've always believed and don't move forward, truth is progressive.

If the pioneers didn't accept the Sabbath, they never got to the Sabbath truth, but there's still more truth to understand in the Sabbath, which I'm gonna get to, but if you don't accept the new truth becomes new light that shines on the old truth that brings, and the way you can tell it, it doesn't do away with the old truth, it magnifies it.

And you're gonna see how this thing magnifies, takes it to a whole nother level, further than we've taken it before.

And if you want to stay stuck on the traditional, then you won't move to the next level.

That's why they call this a movement, because we don't want to stay stuck, because truth is progressive.

Anyway, whosoever abideth in him, because Jesus is gonna lead you, Holy Spirit gonna lead you to all truth.

They say you don't know it all now, but you just get in Christ, and the Holy Spirit is gonna guide you.

And as long as you agree, you're holy because you're in Christ.

So, whosoever abides in him, sinneth not.

And it don't transgress the law because the law is based on 2 principles, supreme love to God, it's Jesus, and when you love him, then unconditional love to your brother and sister, and in Christ, he'll lead you there.

3. Jesus’ Peace

My name is Gregory Jackson, and this is session 3.

And the title of it is The key, surrender, the key to perfect peace and happiness.

Now if you are, you know, just coming in and you didn't have, or weren't here for the previous 2, we've been building on some truths to get here and then we're going to move further.

And you'll catch some of it, but if you, if it's a little confusing to you or you have some questions you might want to get the previous tapes, I believe they're taping these, so that you can get the whole series because there's some each each session is a building block for the next session.

So you're kind of coming in on what the third grade level and we've already had grade 1 and 2 so you understand that.

The key to perfect peace and happiness, surrender.

And I've dealt with a quote that I just want to put those of you that weren't here aware of and that was that the surrender of The will is the substance of all of the teachings of Jesus.

The substance of everything in the Bible.

Because the scriptures, the Lord says, search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life, but they are they that testify of me.

And then he said, but you don't understand it because you will not come to me.

And that's in John 5, 39 and 40, I believe, as my memory serves me.

But that was Jesus talking to the Pharisees.

And he said, yeah, I know you're all thinking, he said, but yes, you know, but if you really want to understand scripture, they are they that testify of me and when you really understand them, it'll lead you to come to me.

And so that's what we're dealing with, surrender, and that's the way to come to Jesus.

At the end, I'm going to, I mean in the sixth session which is going to be Sabbath evening, I'm going to get into, it's going to be a practical applications of all the things and I'm going to go step by step on how to go about it and entertain questions so it can be as practical as possible.

So if you have questions, we may get time to get to some of them, but if you don't, make sure you're going to be in session 6 because we're going to bring all of this together and make it as practical as possible.

All right, now, the key to perfect peace and happiness, Isaiah 26.3 says, Thou wilt keep him in what?

So a lot of times people don't say, well, it's not possible to have perfect peace.

Stayed on thee because he trusted in thee.

Trust you in the Lord forever for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength and that's what surrender is all about, trusting the Lord.

And we dealt with the rich young ruler and where it says go and sell that's that's built on trusting in the Lord then we dealt with the law of the spirit of life in Christ as you dwell in him.

Now we're going to get into the law of service and we're going to connect all these laws together to show how, and really I can call it righteousness by law, but not the kind of law we think, the law of surrender.

It says now, this is the inspired commentary, and I'm going to get this before I...

It says, those who take Christ at his word and surrender their souls to his keeping...

By the way, let me just say this while I'm thinking about it.

I had 36 years of ministry and the Lord impressed me to leave ministry.

I've written 3 books And the Lord has impressed me to leave ministry so I can go wherever he sends me, when he tells me, instead of being locked into 1 church.

Those who take Christ at his word and surrender their souls to his keeping, their lives to his ordering will find peace and quietude.

Nothing on the world can make them sad when Jesus makes them glad by his presence.

In perfect acquiescence, that means perfect surrender when you give over to, acquiescence, in perfect acquiescence there is perfect rest.

Sabbath language here, we're going to tie it into that as well, how you enter into God's rest.

There's a rest that remains that my people have yet to, for if Jesus had given them rest, he would not have spoken of another day.

Anyway, there is in perfect acquiescence, there is perfect rest.

The Lord says, thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusted in thee.

Our lives may seem a tangle but as we commit ourselves to the wise master worker, there is surrender again." Again, in inspired commentary, it is full of the surrender quotient.

That means it's that surrender message because it's the basis of all truth.

And we're going to get into even deeper ones.

And the handout hits a lot, but it doesn't touch as many as there are.

It says, but as we commit ourselves to the wise master worker, he will bring out the pattern of life and character that will be to his own glory.

Just do the 1 thing, God will do the rest.

And that character, which expresses the glory character of Christ, perfectly reproduced, will be received into the paradise of God.

A renovated race shall walk with him in white, for they are worthy.

Now it says here, let me just back up because, well, I'll say right here.

It says now, if we keep our minds stayed on him, he will keep us in perfect.

How do we keep our minds stayed on the Lord?

Well, surrender is the key, but I'm going to apply again.

Everything I'm telling you is based on surrender, everything.

But I'm just, we're going to see how practical surrender is when we really understand it fully.

Now, and the way I've understood these truths because I understand the Lord taught me what surrender is and when I've applied that principle to everything in the Bible, I began to understand scripted more deeply than I ever understood it before.

That's why I'm able to present these different from in a simply you say how do you know because I deal with seminars on marriage on on every subject because When you deal with surrender, Christ is able to fix anything.

So people say, well, man, you have all this knowledge.

And I tell you how to get to Jesus and no matter what your problem is, He will fix it.

So that's all we have to do, just 1 thing, because Jesus is the answer.

And when we get, when we understand that and get people to just lay all before the Lord and let him do his work, get out of his way, say, Lord, fix me, Jesus.

I'm telling you, I'm a walking testimony to the power of God through surrender.

I'm going to just say this while I'm there because I've always, and see, this thing is for people who are desperate.

So when people are ready to commit suicide, I got something to tell you.

I can tell you when people, and people have been, people have been in the Navy, and I'm sick of it.

I say, well, hey, you're closer to the kingdom than you ever were.

Now I can tell you how to get to Jesus this is good for people he said well what can I tell him they're ready to kill I say well cuz I have a way you can die but you can find some life because this 1 you have to die but see as long as you think you have an option, let me tell you this, as long as we think we have a human option, we'll take it?

Jesus is the last and 1 we want to go through to give him everything.

Well, Lord, I for them, I'm just say this real quick, because I want to, yeah, the way he taught me about, I can be your all, because 1 thing that's near and dear to us is human companionship.

Because we're born separated from God, so we're born lonely, aching for companionship.

4. Jesus’ Formula for Success & Holiness

We're on session number 4, and the title of this session is The Key to Success, which we kind of covered on the last 1, so I'm not gonna really get into that too much.

And the Keeping of the Fourth Commandment, how do those 2 tie in together?

And they do, and I've already hit the law of service which is the key to success God's side success and so we're going to see how that ties into the fourth commandment.

Jesus hit the law of service this way I ended with this I'm going to start off again with it just in case somebody just joined us in this session here.

By the way, if you're just joining us in this session, you've missed a lot of building blocks, some of the things you may not understand or even agree with because you haven't gotten some of the information.

And I would advise you, they have tapes available and they're going to be selling them, I have nothing to do with that, but of all the sessions, so you might want to do that.

Here is the law of service, which is the connecting link to God and man.

It connects us to God and it fits into all the other laws.

I'm not going to go through those right now.

No man can serve 2 masters for either he will hate the 1 And love the other or else he will hold to the 1 and despise the other.

This flies into the face of our interpretation of the fourth commandment.

And I'm going to come up with some concepts that will challenge our traditional understanding, but it will not defy the principles.
