Father in heaven, thank you that we're here together.

We have an opportunity to study, to learn, to practice, to prepare for service for you.

And Father, I pray that you'll bless each seminar today, each young person, each older person, each 1 of us, as we focus on finishing the work so Jesus can come.

I said that once we were pastoring in Columbia, Missouri and was it a year later?

Yeah A year later 1 of the church members said now has your husband been married before because he said you were his best wife.

I said no, he would have been a small child have been buried.

I have the privilege of Duane and I both are at the general conference and I have the privilege of working out of elder Wilson's office for social media and outreach coordinator so it's a wonderful time If you go on Twitter and you see Elder Wilson's prayer requests and promises and Facebook prayer requests and promises, well, that's what I have the privilege of doing.

And what's the most exciting thing you do?

The most exciting thing we do is taking people on mission trips and having them preach and when they make their first call and people come forward, that is so exciting.

Everybody comes back to the hotel and is so excited.

They say, this is a life-changing experience.

Oftentimes they say to us too, now I know why I'm a Seventh-day Adventist.

Now I know what, like 1 lady said to us, she said, you know, I thought I was a Seventh-day Adventist because my grandfather worked at the General Conference in the Ministerial Department, but now I know why I'm a Seventh-day Adventist.

You don't have to go overseas to preach a series of meetings.

You can preach in your home church or a neighbor's church or someplace else here in America or overseas.

And we'll talk about a Rwanda trip that's coming up this coming year.

Well it'll be tomorrow is the next year isn't it?

So we're going to Rwanda in May, May 13 to 28 And we'll be talking to you about how you can raise funds to go with us.

And we have, as you've seen on the signs coming in, the mission Africa, we need a hundred preachers and we're going to join 200, 2000 preachers, churches.

We got an email from Rwanda yesterday and they said 2, 300 meetings are going to take place in the country of Rwanda.

Almost every church, I think they have around 2, 500 churches, and they have a bold new vision, just like we're gonna show you for total member involvement.

And Duane, you didn't introduce yourself.

I guess I have the privilege of introducing you.

Duane is the director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries, but not only that, the big thing that is on his plate is assistant to Elder Wilson for total member involvement.

And that is our thrust, is that's my outreach part and Duane's, and that's why we're coordinating the evangelistic meetings for overseas.

And we hope that you will join us in Rwanda.

May, actually, they need to arrive May 11.

May 11 into Kigali and then depart on Sunday, May 29.

The meetings will start May 13 and end on Sabbath the 28th of May.

Rwanda is really the Switzerland of Africa.

It's a beautiful place to go and it's in the mountains, the climate is very nice and it's very safe.

You can tell mom and dad, grandpa and grandma not to worry.

There are countries around Rwanda that have had some turmoil, Burundi is right now, but Rwanda itself is very secure and the government is very stable and it's very safe.

I know you've heard something about, what was it called, a gena, what was it, a genocide many years ago, but that is all over and there's it's a very peaceful country.

No, 1 Saturday, 1 Sabbath every month They had clean day and so everybody has to go up and pick up trash and clean the roads and sweep the streets and fill the potholes and work on the roads.

It's the cleanest country, 1 of the cleanest countries in the world.

It's interesting, everyone's required to do this except Seventh-day Adventist However if you're going to church on Sabbath morning and not working the police officers will stop you and They'll say where are you going to church?

Let me see your card to prove that you're a 70 Adventist.

So 70 Adventist once a month work on Sunday all day and the country free labor.

You go to a lot of countries in the world and enter in South America and some places in Asia and some places in Africa and the countries are not very clean.

We'll talk more about it and answer some of your questions later on.

We have some brochures to pass out but that's 1 thing we'll be doing this next year and the next year is what country is that I think in 2017 is Romania 2018 is Japan 2019 is India and 2020 is Papua New Guinea and Indianapolis, yes, so lots of opportunities to go and share the gospel But not only that, lots of opportunities in America too, I'm sure.

So you can work with your own pastor, you can work with Izz Riton, I know some people there that would be happy to have you work with them, and lots of opportunities here in the States and the different ministries that you can do.

We'll hook you up, whatever we can do to help.

We're talking about extreme preaching, extreme experiences in life.

This is a not really her, but she did this 4 years ago tonight.

Erin Langworthy, she jumped off the Victoria Falls Bridge, which is the highest, I think the highest bungee jump in the world.

You can get a, that gives you a better view.

They say it's an exhilarating, thrilling experience.

And Duane, they say that it, they had taken down 50, 000 people before it broke.

So Duane said, you don't wanna be the 50, 000th person, you wanna be the 49, 000th person.

As I mentioned yesterday, it broke and she went plunging 60 foot below into the river.

Her problem was that as she surfaced, she couldn't swim because her feet were tied around the bungee.

And the rope had stuck in the rocks below.

So she had to dive back down, unhook herself, and then surface.

She had a broken collarbone and some other, she wasn't too good of shape, but she kept her wits about her and she swam to the shore.

A fisherman was there who helped her get out.

And the crocs didn't quite get there in time, fortunately.

You've watched some extreme sports on TV, haven't you?

He was from Southern Adventist University.

Well, he said, When we asked him what his experience was as he was preaching, and he said, if you want to do something extreme, just have an evangelistic series.

Extreme Preaching is the most exhilarating thing that you can do He said some students at this university.

They shouldn't be doing As soon as we do trying to have an extreme experience you ever hear that kids doing that kind of crazy stuff.

But he said, if you want the most extreme experience in your life, you get up in front of a group of people, 200 in the States or 150 or 25 or 1, 000 in Africa, and you preach a series of meetings, That is heart pumping and head pounding.

They had some issues with the church And and got discouraged and you know, I'm people like that And so they stopped attending church.

And actually they didn't care for the conference and didn't care for leadership and just had some issues going on in their hearts.

And so they decided 1 Sabbath to go to a church in Arizona when Kathy and I were living there, I was president, and they went there not knowing we were going to be there.

And all of a sudden they came late and they were in church?

Actually, they had made a commitment on Sabbath morning to go out and help pick up trash.

And they looked at their watch and when they were done and they said, oh, we have time to go to church.

So they showed up at church, and lo and behold, the conference president was preaching.

They weren't excited about that, but they stayed.

And then someone said to them later, you know, why don't you come to the fellowship dinner?

And they said, oh, we didn't bring anything.

So the last ones to walk into the fellowship hall was Darrell and Mary Jo, and there were 2 seats left.

Right across from us, right across from each 1 of us.

We were getting ready in 3 or 4 months to do a mission trip to Kenya.

And so we asked him, said, would you guys want to go on a mission trip?

And so Darrell was thinking, if The president knew who I was And knew my history.

He wouldn't be asking me to do this Anyway, we talked to him and talked to them and so later in the afternoon.

They went home they're gonna take a nap and sleep and they have a medical business up there and in the mountains in Arizona And they called me up and they said, tell me more about Kenya.

Well, their credit cards were all maxed out.

We helped them a little bit and they both went and preached.

And Darrell told me later, he said, I started preaching stuff I didn't believe and I started believing what I was preaching Just changed their lives and they started a special ministry They started the ministry called living waters international and I actually happen to be a board member of that is wonderful.

First, they started putting water purification systems in in Kenya.

And then they started this feeding program for child-headed homes, children whose parents have died of AIDS.

And they started a feeding program and they feed them 2 meals a day, breakfast and lunch, for 180 kids every day.

So these kids live in a hut together and the oldest child is the head of the home.

And so Daryl and Mary Jo every year they go back to Kenya 2 3 and 4 times a year and every time they go they have a series of evangelistic meetings.

And this 1 time, I think it was 3 years ago, they went back to Kenya.

And Daryl is preaching on a mountaintop, or a high hill anyway.

And in Africa, if you've never been there, you will notice when you go to Rwanda that the loudspeakers are faced out to the Villages so people can hear the messages.

Although they're turned up very loud and The audience hears it but so also the village around them and so there was preaching and Esther is not attending the meetings, but she's sitting in her house or hut down below the mountain.

She shows up the last night and she says, I want to be baptized.

And Darrell says, well, you haven't been coming to me.

Well, she hears her his voice echoing around the mountain and she says I have to tell you my story Well, what's your story?

Well, she said I was sleeping in this same place in my my house 51 years ago and there I was thinking That's the year I was born 51 years ago the year he was born she had a dream.

And she dreamt that someday an American would come and his voice would echo around the mouth and behind her house.

And the angel said in the dream, when you hear that voice, you'll know that is truth.

And she said, when you set those speakers up and your voice started echoing around the mountain, I remember the dream, I remember your voice.

I heard the same voice 51 years ago, the year he was born.

And I said to myself, God told me when I heard that voice that's truth I need to follow and that's why I want to be baptized.

God knew when you were born that you would be here in GYC today.

Number 5, evangelism puts you in the center of God's activities.

Daniela was a young lady, or is a young lady.

She was a senior in the university and she had been wanting to go on a mission trip.

She had been praying for 5 years that the Lord would work it out for her to be able to go on a mission trip.

And so she heard about the mission trip that we were going to make to Zambia.

And she thought, how can I raise the money?

How can I get together enough money to go on this mission trip?

And so she prayed and prayed and she had saved some money.

And so the $500 was going to, you know, multiply.

And then there was the Voix d'Esperance at their church.

And They were making a plea for people to give $500 they needed 10 people to give a pledge of $500 and they found 9 and Daniela the Holy Spirit spoke to her Heart and and and said Daniela you have 500 dollars You need to give that money and she thought but I want to go on a mission trip.

How am I going to do that if I give the money?

And she felt impressed that she should give the money.

Well, the very next week, she went to school, to the university.

And she saw, it was the beginning of the year, she saw where she could sign up for a grant.

Now a grant is not a loan, she wouldn't have to pay it back.

And it was a grant of $4, 000 that she could get.

Now she had paid all of her school bill ahead of time.

And so, she applied for the grant, and she thought, I can go on the mission trip with that money because I've already paid my school bill.

She came on the mission trip and she was so excited.

Her father got sick and her mother wanted to come home, but she stayed to the last Sabbath.

And she'll tell her experience here, how God changed her life.

And she says, it's the best experience of my life.

And I just I don't know, I feel I just feel so peaceful and so happy.

I don't know what happened, but I feel changed.

I feel just a different person, and I will never forget this experience.

And especially because I had to pass through many things these last 4 days.

And my dad was in the hospital and I thought that I needed to go back but miss Kathy told me no because the Satan was He doesn't want you to give you the opportunity To see all these people being baptized and she was right and I'm so glad that I didn't go back because now my dad is doing better and I'm here looking at these people being baptized so this has been the best experience of my life and I'm so happy and blessed I have been blessed.

So If you want to have the best experience of your life, isn't that thrilling?

I know some of you're thinking I'd like to do this.

I like to do this, but where am I going to get the money?

Father in heaven, we thank you that you are such an awesome God and that you have given us the privilege of sharing your message with others.

Please send your Holy Spirit upon this room today, this afternoon.

Keep us awake, give us energy, give us wisdom, and give us a heart for your Word.

I think we probably have a bit of a, you know, this is, our seminar is continuous, and the others, some of those are repeat each time, and perhaps we should have done that.

We thought we had so much we needed to share, we needed to have it continuous.

But let us just say this, that sometimes people think that preaching is scary.

Actually, they say that 1 of the hardest things in the world to do is to stand up in front of someone else that you don't know and give a presentation and scares people to death.

I was scared to death, But remember, yeah, if any of you were here in the previous session, I said it was all, you know, I was concentrating on myself, I, me, but you know what?

When we give it to God, he will work in and through us.

The Holy Spirit will give us the boldness, the power, and wisdom, and energy, and whatever else we lack.

We actually have taken about 3, 000 people and showed them how to preach overseas and here in the States.

And the most exciting thing is we have never had a funeral yet No 1 has ever died Really, it's life-changing is transforming.

It's better than extreme sports It's the most exhilarating exciting thing you'll ever do and you won't die Isn't that thrilling When you jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge, you might die.

When you make your first call, When you make your first call, when you make your first call, and people come forward to accept Jesus, wow.

It is so amazing to know that God has used you in such a special way.

1 of the most exciting things about overseas is the fact that you get to work with a translator because working with a translator gives you time to think.

As a young person too, you don't have to be embarrassed.

If you miss up, the translator fixes it and you'll never ever see these people again.

So you don't have to be embarrassed, except in heaven, right?

So working with a translator is a lot of fun.

This gives you a little example of how fun it is to work with a translator.

Again, it's to demonstrate the challenge of communicating the gospel cross-culturally in another language.

We will illustrate this as an American pastor speaks to an interpreter.

This is not to be a reflection on the ability of our national Christians to interpret, but rather, it is a graphic demonstration of why missionaries strive to master the language of the people with whom they live and labor.

Today we have a great pastor from America come to speak to us.

I'm very pleased for the opportunity to interpret for this brother since he does not speak our language Thank you brother, thank you, thank you.

I'm very happy to be here with you tonight and I'd like to say thank you for the dinner He says thank you for the dinner I must admit I have some butterflies in my stomach.

I said I have some butterflies in my stomach.

It seems our guest has taken some fries into his stomach but I really like the food it was good I was really great thank you I like the food it was very good very good well well he liked the fries and I want you know that I'm tickled pink tonight that you've invited me here to share with you It seems now that our guest has developed a rash and has been scratching himself so much that he has turned pink in places.

I'm especially ecstatic about the topic that you've asked me to address.

Our guest has a great deal of elastic in his dress.

That topic my friends is how to get our people involved in spiritual ministries.

He's going to tell us how to get involved in ministering to the spirits.

You see, there are too many people running around here like chickens with their heads cut off.

They're running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

In this man's country there must be terrible persecution.

They're just killing people by cutting their heads off.

Their testimony is not worth a hill of beans.

Their testimony is not worth a mountain of vegetables.

I tell you, friends, it's time to get on the ball for Jesus.

Part of the problem is you who are pastors.

Ah yes, you're putting a gun on the ground and then you're jumping up and down on it.

You're always shooting off at your mouth.

Well then you're taking the gun and shoot your lips off.

Many times there's a problem with just being lackadaisical.

Many times there's a problem with laxatives.

You must give them a reason to be glued to their seats.

When people come to your church, you just put something sticky on the seat when they sit down and they can't get back up.

I know how it is getting ready for church.

The kids are in the yard as filthy as pigs.

They have some baby goats in the yard and they begin to look like pigs.
