The Third and Final Glory

Father in heaven, Lord, we are so grateful this morning to be in your presence.

And Lord, we just ask that your Holy Spirit, Lord, would draw close.

We are thankful, Father, for the graces of your mercy.

We're thankful for the joys of salvation.

We're thankful for Jesus who has given all that we might have all.

And Lord, we're thankful for your grace that empowers us to cast off those sins that so easily ensnare us.

And Father, we pray today that a special portion of your Spirit would be upon our hearts.

We ask, Father, that Your presence would be here.

And in a very special way, Lord, we ask that You would be close to Felipe and Martha, Philip and Paloma, and Lord, that you just surround their family at this time.

We know that Felipe is in a very strong way, not well, and so we ask your spirit to be in their midst, that your glory might be seen for their family.

And so Lord, we lift him up to you and we ask your strength to be with them.

And we trust, Lord, that he is in your care.

And we ask, Lord, that Our church family would surround theirs as they have been.

And so Father, our eyes are upon you this morning.

It's a very special time to be gathered together with you.

And we ask for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we open your words.

Let the words be from heaven and not from man.

The title of the message this morning is called The Third and Final Glory.

And many of you may be wondering what exactly is that?

We are very familiar with that chapter as Seventh-day Adventist Christians, and we are very familiar with a certain portion of it, and it's typically the middle section which talks about the law of God.

And what I want to do this morning is go through the whole chapter, and what you find is that there are actually 3 revelations in this chapter of the glory of God.

And the first 1 is in the very beginning at creation, the second 1 is in the middle, which is, I'll explain more about that a little bit later, and then the third 1 is actually 1 that takes place in the last days of earth's history.

And you may be wondering what exactly is that?

Turn with me, if you would, to Psalm 19, Psalm 19, and that's where we're going to be mostly this morning.

But the 3 great glories, I've kind of summarized them.

And so Psalm 19 is where we're going to be this morning.

Please turn there in Psalm chapter 19, verse 1.

It says the heavens declare what It declares the glory of God and the firmament shows his handiwork.

Day and today utter speech and night and tonight reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.

Their line has gone out throughout all the earth and their words to the end of the world." The Bible tells us that if you want to know something about the glory of God, where should you look?

I love living out where we live, a little bit from the country.

Some of our beloved church members have asked me, Pastor, why do you live so far away from the church?

And I asked them, I say, well you live in town, and you live a moderate ways from the church, how long does it take you to get to church?

I said, well, it takes me about 18 minutes to get to the church.

And I get to live out in the quiet, peaceful country down on dirt road, where nobody can find me.

It's not that I don't want anybody to find me, but you understand.

But I love living out there because on a beautiful, clear night, you can look up and you can see the stars crystal clear.

And you can see the moon, and you can see the whole host of heaven and it's just thousands and thousands of stars, the beauty of creation.

And we just had our little family Christmas the other day because we're going to be traveling south with our family and 1 of the gifts that we gave to my son was a beginner's telescope.

And we took that telescope out the other night and we looked up into the starry heavens and we saw the beauty of God.

Actually, we couldn't see a whole lot because I couldn't exactly figure out how to do it yet, but we'll get there.

But we did see the moon and it was very beautiful.

But if you ever just go out, you know, our lives are so busy, aren't they?

And it's amazing how we can just walk past some of the greatest glories that God has given to us and not even notice.

And we're so focused on the concrete buildings and all the stuff that we have to do and the busyness of this life that how often do we surpass the glory of God and we rarely stop.

I remember when I lived in Traverse City, I would be, we lived down a country road and I would drive down that road every day And I would observe, you know, there was a really nice field with this red barn and there was a lot of trees and there was some small hills and I would kind of notice that.

But it wasn't until I actually took a walk down the road that I saw all these things along the side of the road as I was walking, the trees and the flowers, and I was able to really slow down and just take in the glory of God.

When was the last time that you just stopped and said, Lord, show me your glory?

I want to see something of your power, I want to see something of your might today, whether it's the stars, or whether it's some kind of beauty in nature, or whether it's something in His Word.

When was the last time that we just stopped and said, Lord, I want to see something of your glory.

But the Bible tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament his handiwork.

Go over with me to our scripture reading Psalm 33.

Psalm 33 and we're just going to peel through these verses 1 more time.

Psalm 33, and we're going to start in verse 4.

The Bible says, For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in what?

I'm of you're thankful that when you look to Christ, and when you look to God the Father, they're always going to tell you what?

Now we don't always like that truth, do we?

And sometimes the truth about ourselves when God reveals it to us is quite painful, what do you think?

It's quite disappointing, it can be even discouraging.

But God is always going to tell us the truth, and I'm thankful for that, but he also, when he tells us the truth and reveals the truth about us, that he extends his righteousness as a gift to us as well.

So the Bible says, he loves righteousness and justice.

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

By the word of the Lord, the heavens were made and by the host of them, by the breath of his mouth, he gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap, and he lays up the deep in storehouses.

And for those reasons, the psalmist says, let all the earth, what?

You know in Revelation 14, verse 6 and onward, the 3 angels message, the last message to go to planet earth before Jesus returns, says, fear God and what?

Give glory to Him for the hour of His judgment has come and worship Him who made what?

Heaven, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.

So the Bible tells us all the way in Revelation, fear God.

There's a connection to these 2 passages.

Fear God and worship Him because He is the what?

He is the Creator of all things, and He is your Creator, and He is my Creator.

Let all the earth fear the Lord, by the word of the Lord were the heavens made.
