Seeking a Servant

Do we have a sure and steadfast Hope of glory yes or no Amen I want to say also that I am very thankful for our Pathfinders staff.

I got to see them in action last week down at Berrien Springs.

I tried to stump 1 of them after and I looked up in the book of Exodus and asked them some questions.

I remember what they were, but Things that I read the book of Exodus many times and I hadn't seen and I asked them about 4 questions and They had the answer right then and things you wouldn't even imagine words I didn't know how to pronounce they they had it And so I praise the Lord for them.

We're looking forward to you guys going on to the division level.

How many of you noticed this morning that the church smelled a little better?

How many of you noticed that this morning?

How many of you noticed it looked a little nicer?

There was a large group of folks who came yesterday and cleaned, men, women, and children.

They were cleaning in preparation for Unlocked Revelation beginning on Monday.

And so we're so grateful to those that did that.

I won't embarrass you by pointing you out, but the Lord receives the glory, but we get the joy.

And so thank you so much to those of you who did that.

You know, the Lord has really blessed us this year.

We've seen a lot of wonderful miracles, Have we not?

At the beginning of the year we had 10 days of prayer and we saw the Lord's blessing being poured out there.

We've had multiple different activities for the community.

We did the dental clinic and then we've had the food for thought.

So thankful we've had a number of folks coming to that event and we had 10 days in the upper room for prayer meeting.

We've had multiple other things, and now we are approaching Unlocked Revelation.

And what a joy that we can have this special, sacred communion service just before we go into those meetings.

You know, it seems like God has just laid out everything in just the right timing over the past several months to bring us to this point right here.

How many of you are overjoyed that the Lord is good to us?

You know, I heard a story yesterday, or saw a story yesterday, about 2 of our young people about this tall, the Hanson family, going out and they were passing out some invitations and Nancy Pass went out to the person at the bank and the lady said, I'm planning to attend those meetings.

And then Chase and Everett went out and they were passing out brochures to other people that were so excited to share about Jesus.

But Unlocked Revelation is beginning Monday, And so I covet your prayers, and it's not too late to invite a friend.

And if you're visiting with us this morning, you may have come because of the weekend, you may have come for differing reasons, but if you're visiting with us this morning, we want to encourage you to come as well.

You can pick up 1 of these brochures out there and take that with you and take 1 for a friend as well.

We have about almost 75 folks who have pre-registered.

And so we're excited about that and we believe more will come that not everybody usually pre-registers but Lord has blessed this preparation.

And we have prayed, we have worked, we have done everything that we can do, but we don't trust in ourselves.

We trust in Him who holds all things in His hand.

And so we are looking forward to a great meeting, and I want to encourage you guys to come and be here and support those meetings and get to know these folks.

Well once again this morning is communion and so we're going to have a short message today and then we're going to divide and for our foot washing and Seventh-day Adventists, just in case I don't say it later, celebrate what we call open communion, which means if you are a Christian, you have accepted the Lord Jesus, been baptized, and it doesn't matter if you're from any denomination or other persuasion, if you have accepted the Lord Jesus and you are baptized, you are welcome to participate in that this morning.

We also do foot washing, which is a very sacred thing, it's a very special thing.

And the reason we did that is because Jesus, in John chapter 13, the Bible says He washed the disciples' feet.

And He did that because as He washed their feet, It was a symbol or a representation of as they put their faith in Him, He was cleansing their hearts.

So as He washed their feet, He was really washing their hearts.

That no 1 is better than another we are all together under the Lord's banner amen that we serve each other and we love each other as Jesus has loved us how many of you want to experience that kind of love amen How do you want to give that kind of love?

Well this morning we're gonna pray and we're gonna have a short message before we depart.

Father in heaven we thank you so much for this special weekend.

A weekend which we can pull away the Sabbath, a high Sabbath Lord.

Sometimes I wonder if we really understand what a privilege we have to come apart on the Sabbath day as your people to worship, to unplug, to unwind, to get away from those things that cause us such stress, and for this hour, come together, and to receive a special blessing from You.

Sometimes I wonder, Lord, I pray that we would all understand what this really means, and how privileged we are to experience it.

And now this morning, Father, as we consider a thought from your Word, we pray, your blessing would draw near and we come in Jesus' name, Amen.

You know, this morning, this weekend rather, there are lots of people who are celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Some call it Easter, I call it Passover, And some people have conflicting thoughts and feelings about why or if we should celebrate that because through time this event has kind of been associated with paganism.

I reject the paganism, but I rejoice in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

I know you are thankful for the death and resurrection of Jesus.

There's not a thing in the world wrong with celebrating that.

But let me tell you that the best way, and I'm just going to read it, because I wrote it down specifically, the very best way that we could celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is not to have some entertaining passion play.

It's not to have an exciting Easter egg hunt.

It's not to have a sunrise pancake breakfast.

And I'm not criticizing those who do those things.

But I'm just simply saying that the best way to celebrate the Lord's resurrection is to do exactly what He said in His Word, which is to celebrate the Lord's Supper.

The Scripture also says that the way you celebrate the resurrection in Romans chapter 6 is to have baptisms.

And we're going to be having some of those over the next month, in a month and a half.

Today we're going to have communion and very soon we're going to have baptisms to celebrate the Lord's resurrection.

How many want to obey the Bible this morning?

That's what we want to do in this church.

Simplicity, Humility, Order, Sacredness in the Lord's Supper.

Yet deep meaning, purpose, joy, hope, thanksgiving, and the highest understanding of heaven's Unselfish ways are some of the things, some of the great blessings that the Lord desires us to gain from this service.

How many of you would agree with that this morning?

Now, the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, I should say, many people phrase it, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus are certainly important things.

But I would say that there's a few things that are tacked on to that that are equally important that many times people leave out.

Not just the death of Jesus, but also the life of Jesus.

Because without the life of Jesus, you don't have the death of Jesus.
