The Ministry of Healing

Well, the Ministry of Healing is what I've been asked to talk about tonight.

And before we get to some of the quotes out of Ministry of Healing, I'd like you to consider Matthew chapter 9.

Jesus went about all the cities and villages, so that means even the small towns.

I think Amity, Arkansas would have been included in that.

What's the population of Amity, by the way, Chester?

By the way, I also forgot to tell you my son, Alan, who's the second 1.

For those of you there at the noon hour, he was the 1 who was the snowboarder who didn't buy the snowboard, or didn't allow me to buy the snowboard for his birthday.

But he works for, just this year he somehow got a job working at Chester Clark's office in the dental area.

And I happened to ask him a couple of weekends ago when he was home.

I said, you know, there's 760 people in Amity.

Chester Clark probably isn't very busy there as a dentist, is he?

He says, oh, no, you wouldn't believe it.

There's so many patients that come through there.

I said, so are they from Amity or where are they from?

No, they come from Little Rock, Arkansas, they come from Hot Springs, they come from all over Arkansas.

They'll travel hundreds of miles for an appointment with Dr.

And they'll come from Oklahoma and there's some that even come from New York and California.

And so he was, we were actually in Florida last weekend.

I had to speak to the Florida graduate medical education group, all of their residencies, the surgery residency, family practice residency for a retreat.

And he was pointing out to me as we were there, talking to individuals about different tooth problems and teeth problems that they all had, and he says, I can't look at people the same way.

This person has periodontal disease, I sure hope he's getting treated.

And he was going on to all the ways in which Chester would work on him, et cetera, and all the innovative approaches, and he's just 16 years old, and loving dentistry, even though he wants to be an orthopedist.

It's our influence for young people, and no matter where you go, hopefully you'll have the same passion that they do for young people.

They're a magnet for young people, Jesus was the same way.

But I thought of that because of the villages.

Teaching in their synagogues, 3 things that Christ did in this verse, he did what?

He taught, proclaim the good news, the gospel of the kingdom, so he preached and he also healed, curing all kinds of disease and every weakness and infirmity, that's the amplified version of Matthew 9.35.

And so there is the threefold ministry of Christ that each 1 of us are called to do.

The ministry of healing is the title of a book and it's also something that we're all called to do.

And it's a book written by someone who is talked about in this verse in Ephesians.

He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers.

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

By the way, the commas weren't included in the Greek there.

It actually should say, without the comma, for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry.

That was the reason why the saints needed to be perfected.

And of course they could edify the body of Christ that way as well, till we all come in the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

If not, there is still a need for each 1 of those individuals in verse 11.

And the gift of prophecy, the Bible says, is going to be there all the way till the end.

And it's kind of interesting, you know, there's some people that say, well, anyone who isn't in the Bible isn't really a prophet, and we really shouldn't listen to them.

But you know, if you believe the Bible, you're going to believe that there will be prophets after the Bible, that are just as inspired as those in the Bible.

You need to apply the biblical test of the true prophet.

In fact, Paul says, see that ye come behind in no gift waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In other words, the gift of prophecy was to be there as well, who shall confirm you unto the end that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation says, the dragon was wroth with the woman, that's the true church, went to make war with the remnant of her seed, that's the last part of her, which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus.

Testimony of Jesus is well defined in the Bible.

Later on in Revelation, that last phrase says, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

That's the tool that God has always used to speak to us as human beings.

His prophets really were spokespersons for him to speak his words.

We're not sure why he utilizes that method, but it's clear that that's the method he utilizes to speak to all of humanity is through his prophets.

When he called Moses, it was to be a spokesperson for him.

When he called Jeremiah, it was all clear that that's where it was heading.

And so if you truly believe in the Bible, you're going to believe in the prophetic gift to the remnant church and you're going to believe in the testimony of Jesus.

And the remnant will have the spirit of prophecy.

Colin Campbell, who I've gotten to know pretty well over the last several years, is very well known in the scientific literature.

He was the author of the largest human scientific study that was done in China, the China study.

If you've ever read his book on that, it's a very interesting book.

Campbell says, I'm not aware, this was in an interview February 24, 2005, I'm not aware of anyone who was more on point than Ellen White.

Given her background, she is truly an amazing woman.

I am convinced that almost 100% of her statements are now substantially supported by the scientific evidence that has been developed during the past 2 to 3 decades.

What I have come to realize, to even deeply worry about, is why it is that this message of Ellen White and others has been so mislaid on shelves out of sight.

It is abundantly clear to me that now is the time to bring this forward in whatever way that each of us are able to do." Well T.

Colin Campbell understood the scientific validity of what Ellen White wrote about and was shown many years ago.

And there is an interesting, I'm going to go into a little bit of the scientific background.

I remember a few years ago, well it's been more than a few years ago, time flies, it's probably been 20 plus years ago, I remember individuals, medical doctors coming to me and talking to me about how wrong Ellen White was in certain areas of health.

And 1 of the areas that they said that she was wrong on has to do with what she said about diet.

Now, this is the scientific evidence on diet.

Fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables have no cholesterol.

Cholesterol is what can cause atherosclerosis when it's deposited in the blood vessels.

Egg whites are the only exception to the animal product rule.

This is what the world is confused about.

Many people in the world believe that tuna is part of the plant kingdom and has no cholesterol.

And every study that's looked at it shows that if you feed a healthy vegetarian fish, their cholesterols go up invariably.

Clams, 57, crab, 64, chicken breast without the skin, 73, pork, 76, beef, 80, chicken breast with the fat in the skin, just as much as beef and pork, in fact, 82 milligrams.

Oysters, 84, sardines, 120 milligrams, shrimp, 165 milligrams.

And even seafood can be very loaded with cholesterol.
