Taking the First Step

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for the privilege that you give to us to have life.

Thank you for giving us, giving this opportunity to be together and to be in your presence.

Lord, we ask you that you be the 1 that speaks in this moment.

Please be in this place with your Holy Spirit, Lord.

We want to be able to be obedient and to be ready for your soon coming.

So like I said, yes, we're coming some from far, some from near, and we're all coming with the reason that we want to talk about education.

Well, you know, I looked up the definition of education, okay, and a very simple definition was the process in which knowledge is received or imparted.

The process in which knowledge is received or imparted.

But, you know, at a very early age, I had to analyze this.

Does education, is it very big for a child or for a person, for society?

Well, let me explain to you what happened in my household.

I sort of said a little bit last year about my background.

And my family comes from a communist place.

And I remember at a very early age listening at home about a certain phrase they would use, de cara al campo, which was titled, face on to the wilderness, or face on to agriculture.

And when I was able to sort of understand a little bit, I would ask them, what does that mean, dad?

And then they explained to me what that was.

And when the new government came in, which was communism, they implanted a type of program or education where they said that from there on they would take away children that were ready, that were ready to eat by themselves, that they could walk by themselves.

Actually they told the people that it would be at a youth age, but the reality was that they were taking children in an elementary age.

And they were taking them to these places in the country where they would learn how to work and they would learn how to, just anything that they would impart from them.

And my dad wasn't a Christian, but he didn't wanna have anything to do with that sort of thing.

So that's when he decided we must leave Cuba and did that process.

He was 5 years in a concentration camp to be able to go away because he was not happy with the system.

My sister, which was small age, she actually 5 years after, she was about 10 when she was able to come out of Cuba and then I was born over here in the United States.

But I would explain, I would ask them, so this is what motivated you?

1 of the reasons that you were motivated to go out of Cuba?

It just, it horrified me to think that someone would come at an early age to take me away from my parents.

And I actually, after I was big, I was actually able to meet someone that was a small child when she was taken away, de cara al campo, and actually was able to dialogue with her.

And she said, she explained to me what they did a little bit.

She says, there was a lot of marching, There was a lot of working, but really not having a lot of results in the agriculture, but yeah, they worked.

Every age, there was lots of ages, different ages all together.

And well, I wouldn't go on and on, but the thing is that there was a generation after the generation of my parents that now were satisfied what was happening in the society.

There is a type of education that can empower you to want to be free, to want to soar, to want to do things, and there's an education that makes you feel satisfied where you are and Just be there and not do anything about it.

Are we satisfied with the education we have?

Or that we are receiving or that we are giving?

Would you like to soar high in high places?

Education 271 says, with such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish how soon the message of a crucified risen and a soon coming Savior might be carried to the whole world.

The true education that will help our youth to finish our work.

It says here, now as never before, we need to understand the true science of education.

If we fail to understand this, to understand what?

The science of true education, we shall never have a place in the kingdom of God.

Oh wow, when I read that, it really made me tremble.

We need to understand what true education is about.

As parents, as teachers, And just as human beings in our society, we need to understand what true education is about.

We shall never have a place in the kingdom of God.

Would you like to be in the kingdom of God?

When I began in my, trying to understand what education was, as a teacher, right, I studied to be a teacher, and after having my children, I started really wanting, really wanting.

I wasn't satisfied with what I was seeing.

I wanted to do the best I could for the honor of God.

And I went to him and this section here every morning, they have asked me to talk about how to do true education.

We're going to be speaking how to do true education.

But let me tell you, for me, it was really, Even though I studied to be a teacher, it's abstract.

Because you know that there are books involved, right?

And there is running around, and there's crayons, and there's pencils, and rulers, and numbers, and books.

And then how do you put it in a practical way?

And when I started teaching my own children, it was different.

It wasn't the same type of setting of having so many children and having a school setting.

And I just wanted, Lord, I don't know anything.
