Sanctification in the Womb

If they can actually spell it, that's an A immediately.

We're very happy to be here in sunny California and warm California.

Although it was kind of freezing outside.

I guess it's gonna get warmer as the days go by.

I have a very unusual topic to present tonight.

The title of the topic is, it was actually published in Adventist Review 2 years ago, April 14.

You can check it out for a little more information.

The title of the topic is Sanctification in the womb.

And you might be thinking, wait a second, how can babies in the womb be, what are you talking about?

So, Well, let's pray and then let's start with this important topic.

It's very pertinent to Adventist movement, actually.

So let's pray about it And let's come before the Lord.

Father, we want to be sanctifying the heart and we want to understand the education of children from theological perspective and medical perspective as well.

This amazing place of learning and healing, Lord, we need to know this.

So as I said, this was published first 2 years ago.

And it was entitled, Sanctification in the Womb, the struggle between God and Satan to influence the mind of individual begins already in the womb.

We're going to flip a couple of biblical passages on this question and the first biblical passages you might be surprised with this 1 it's found in Proverbs 22 6 you can check it for yourself in your Bibles here's on the screen the the passage says train up a child in the way he should go and when he's old he will not depart from it.

Now we know that 8 out of 10 adolescents leave the church, in Adventist church, and so we want to know how do we get to this?

Train up a child and when he's old He will not depart from the training, from the spiritual training.

This is this is a this is a promise that God has given us.

Now, I've been looking in this verse and I was wondering, wait a second, I have a couple of brothers and sisters and some are in the church, some are not, we're all trained, you know, but not Everybody stayed with faith.

And this might be also circumstances of your life.

You might have some relatives that you're wondering, why is my brother not here with me?

Now, there is, of course, the salvation and how God saves us is is according to our free will.

But there is something that the Bible tells us that we can do a training.

And that when the when the child is older, he will not depart from it.

There's some kind of training that can give us a lot of success and this is something that it's very neglected in our church And we're going to talk about it tonight.

Now I was looking at this passage and I was looking at the word train.

And actually it's the word hanach in Hebrew.

And the word is used in a couple of other instances in the Bible.

For example in 2 Chronicles 7.15 you can write that down.

2 Chronicles 7.15 it's used for the dedication of the temple in time of Solomon.

The word actually means dedicate, because Solomon didn't train the temple.

So it is dedicate a child would be a better translation.

And it's important because it's found in the context of a sanctuary.

The temple was supposed to be a holy place.

So this verse is trying to vehicle idea of making a child be a temple.

The word that is used is always used in connotation with the dedication of the temple.

And then all of a sudden Solomon actually uses in connection with children.

And we know the Bible says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Na'ar means a actually a small child from year 0 to year 6.

This is a very crucial period of dedication.

My mom used to tell me, oh don't worry about my brother Stefan and my brother Rade, you know when they're older they will get it.

Don't worry about teaching them how to pray, or teaching them how to be born again when they're too small.

They're not going to understand how to be sanctified, how to have sanctified hearts when they're so small.

If you say you want to pray to Jesus not to like this what you have done, children can understand that and they can actually exercise faith what Jesus says, faith of the children.

So we need to dedicate, this is lacking in our education.

This is what Ellen White says, Desire of Ages, page 512.

She says, Let mothers come to Jesus with their perplexities.

They will find grace sufficient to aid them in the management of their children.

She says, even the baby in its mother's arms may dwell as under the shadow of the Almighty through the fate of the praying mother.

John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from His birth.

If we live in communion with God, we too may expect the Divine Spirit to mold our little ones even from their earliest moments.

When I was reflecting on this verse, I was like, wait a second, I don't want to just go through this passage.

She says, even the baby in the mother's arms can dwell under the shadow of the Almighty through the faith of the praying mother.

Now the baby, can the baby choose to be filled with the Holy Spirit at that point.

Until the age of accountability, children don't have a developed will to choose necessarily for them.

The consecrated mother actually becomes an agent.

Interesting, you're always thinking of free will.

Yeah, there's free will, but until the, while baby's inside of the womb and the baby is still at, until age of 3 or certain age when the child can actually start choosing for himself.

It is the she says it is the sanctification of the mother.
