Miss Del Delker tells us in song of her preference, I'd rather have Jesus.

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold.

I'd rather be his than have riches untold.

I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands.

On houses or lands, I'd rather be led by his nail-pierced hands than to be the king of a vast domain and be held in sin's dread sway.

I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause.

I'd rather be faithful to his dear cause.

I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame.

I'd rather be true to his holy name holy name.

Than to be the king of a vast domain, And be held in sin's dread sway.

Our Father in Heaven, we pray for Thy blessing today upon the broadcast, all who take part in it, and all who listen to it, and this all in Jesus' name.

♪ There is a place of quiet rest ♪ ♪ Near to the heart of God ♪ ♪ a place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God.

Oh, Jesus, blessed Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, hold us who bow before Behold us who bow before Thee, near to the heart of God.

How do I know that Jesus is my Savior, that by my side He's walking all the day?

How do I know, no matter where I'm straying, That lovingly is watching me all way, all way.

For well I know the ever wondrous story, the story that is told o'er land and sea.

When at last He calls me home to glory, To be with Him will be happiness for me.

It was for me, for me, ah yes, It was for me.

Break thou the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, as thou didst break the loaves beside the sea.

Beyond the sacred page, I seek thee, Lord.

I seek thee, Lord, my spirit pangs for thee, O living Word.

As thou didst bless the bread by Galilee, Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall, and I shall find in thee my all in all.

Here now is HMS Richards, the Voice of Prophecy speaker.

Our first question, are you, voice of prophecy, against the proposed New World Calendar just because it's new?

I'm certainly not opposed to a new calendar just because it's new.

But I am opposed to any calendar new or old which would destroy the free-running week and tie it up to a blank day.

Any calendar that has the blank day feature will destroy the free running week which has come down to us as long as we have a week or 7 days from the very creation of this earth.

Such a man-made institution would make it very difficult for Christians who believe that Sunday is the Lord's Day to observe that day.

Also difficult for Christians and Jews who believe that the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord their God.

According to the 10 Commandments to observe God's holy day would become almost impossible.

We have a plain statement from the mouth of the Apostle Paul that we ought to obey God rather than man, Acts 529.

Let us not inaugurate any man-made institution that would take away religious freedom from human beings even if it could be proved to bring economic benefit.

Question, where is the text that says the things which I now hate I once loved and the things I once loved I now hate?

The passage most like it, no doubt, would be Romans 7, 15 and onward.

There are many proverbs and popular sayings attributed to the scriptures which are not found in them.

For instance, we have often been asked, where is the text that says cleanliness is next to godliness?

The Bible does not say this, though there are many texts that teach cleanliness.

1 says, Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord.

Is the Lord Jesus Christ ever called God in the Bible?

Let us read Isaiah 9 verse 6, a prophecy of Jesus written 700 years before he was born.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Thee Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Now for a New Testament text, Hebrews 1.8.

But unto the Son, he saith, thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.

Jesus himself said, I and my Father are 1.

Here's another question that belongs with the 1 we have just answered.

I have heard it claimed that Jesus existed before his birth in Bethlehem and that he had something to do with the creation of the world.

Our answer is found by quoting John 1, verses 1 to 3.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that is made.

Verse 14 answers, And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

That is, before the creation of this world.

We find our answer in the wonderful prayer of our Savior, recorded in the 17th chapter of John, verse 5.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

What does the Lutheran Church teach regarding the law of God?

I would suggest that you get in touch with the nearest Lutheran pastor who will give you full information on this subject.

I recall that Martin Luther himself once said, he who destroys the doctrine of the law, destroys at the same time political and social order.

As to the law in itself, I have never rejected it.
