Gracious Father in heaven, thank you for your love and your mercy to us.

I pray you'll bless us as we launch into the last of the sixth trumpet and the seventh trumpet.

Now I hasten to add, I don't consider myself an authority on all of this, but I do love it and I do believe that what the Adventist pioneers, or at least the development of these great prophecies were sound.

And that doesn't mean everything that Uriah Smith writes is correct.

I think Uriah Smith had some areas that he depended on dispensational scholarship instead of depending on the great outline that the Adventist people have.

If you see the...some people will not like this.

The greatest threat to American freedom today...well, the Muslims are a threat, don't get me wrong.

But the greatest threat to American freedom is the papacy.

They've got their focus on the Muslim world, they're worried about that.

At the same time, they're embracing the very thing that's going to take away our freedoms and is in the process of doing it right this very minute.

I generally use your estimate and when there's a discrepancy then I would go to see Mervyn Maxwell.

So concerning seeing Mervyn Maxwell books.

Yeah, I'm a great admirer of Mervyn Maxwell.

And again, I'm not trying to be dogmatic.

I just don't think that in this particular area on the trumpets that was helpful.

But it was helpful in a lot of other places.

Just don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Don't throw me out with the bathwater too.

There may be some areas here that I need to grow.

In fact, even just before I came down here, I saw some things I hadn't seen before, and I wish that I had put them in some other things before.

I got a little confused with the trumpet, because what I've read in U.S.

Smith, as well as some of the information you have online.

So that's what I'm asking you, if it's...

If you take the great basic outline of the Christian apostasy and the rise of the papacy, that's where prophecy focuses.

So when you take a piece of it and you throw it down here somewhere or pull it out and make it say something else.

Rome, pagan Rome and papal Rome, that's the enemy of God's people and the great prophecies are centering and focusing on that.

And I think we do ourselves a disservice if we start taking chunks of those prophecies and thinking that they're talking about some other deal.

This is just to review just a little bit, if you don't mind.

Yesterday we talked about Josiah Litch in 1844, the great end of the 2300 days.

He's the Spirit of truth and He's the teacher of truth.

So, And then when Josiah Litch put this, many people responded.

And it really, in 1840, now we're only about 3 and a half years away from the great day of disappointment, the end of the 2300 days, but the preaching of this is still within the will of God and they just poured gasoline on this thing and it just basically exploded.

People said, look, if that prophecy has that kind of precise fulfillment, surely the end of the 2300 days has the end of that fulfillment.

So you can see why this just riveted people attention to the end of 1844, And that was the will of God in all of that.

I'm not going to get into the great disappointment at the end of 1844.

That's another study in itself, but these things all go together.

So these are major events that affected the Advent hope.

The great Lisbon earthquake in the 1700s basically woke up Europe to the study of Daniel and Revelation.

What do they call these people that study earthquakes?

And they are still fascinated with the Lisbon earthquake.

They claim that it was the most changing thing for Europe that had probably ever happened.

And some other people have gotten up, you know, out of their closets and they go, oh no, the avalanches are just, there's plenty of earthquakes, there's bigger earthquakes, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

The truth is, the experts and the people who look at sociology say, no, Lisbon earthquake was a game changer.

And it was huge And it had a huge effect on society.

And it's in that context of the great awakenings.

There's these Great Awakenings and these things had a huge impact on the world, on the DNA of American thinking, the Great Awakenings did.

If you want to know who the pietists are, you ought to find out because that's who Adventists are.

If you don't think people aren't waking up to Bible prophecy, it's having a huge impact.

And then you throw on top of that Josiah Litch's prediction of the Muslim powers becoming subject to Christian powers August 11, 1840, and you've got gasoline and feeding the fire.

So anyway, I'm not going to go back into that particular prophecy or review what I told you yesterday.

We talked about the great disappointment.

And looking at the data here, The apostles echoing Daniel predict a great apostasy within the Christian church.

Revelation outlines this man of sin who sits in the temple of God.

You have the apostle Paul and you have the book of Daniel.

The papacy's fulfilled these prophecies with great accuracy and the whole world today is blind, deaf, and mute to the great fulfillments and they're just embracing this thing right and left.

And the first attack on the heavenly sanctuary came of course during the Dark Ages and I won't have time to get into all of that.

So this attack was overthrown by the rise of the Muslims, are stopped, are contained, you might say.

And yet today, you know, we have these people running around saying the protest is over.

I think the Adventist ought to hold a big some kind of thing and we ought to stand up and shout to the world in my best Southern English, it ain't over, we're still protesting.

And we're going to protest louder than we've ever, because God predicts that movement at the end of time.

It's going to cost us a lot of love and kindness.
