The Seven Trumpets- Part 1

This is part 1, the awesome sound of 7 trumpets, and I think what I'm going to do is bring this down here so that I can look at it.

I think if I can just look at it and see it, I think that'll be great, right there.

And the reason is this, I can read the next slide that's coming up.

Okay, the first 1 is a little bit of a slide, is a little bit of a disclaimer.

It's just simply saying that we're not trying to, because we're going to get into some sensitive stuff, that we believe in religious freedom, we believe in being respectful to everybody, but we are also searching for the truth as it is in Jesus.

Now I want to start with the heavenly sanctuary, and I mentioned this last night, I think just a little bit, but just to familiarize ourselves with it.

We see Jesus moving through the heavenly sanctuary, and first of all he starts at the 7 churches and that's at the candlesticks.

He goes from the candlesticks to the 7 seals which is the table of showbread or the throne.

It doesn't actually say table of showbread but I don't have time in this seminar to show you the parallels between chapter 4 and 5 in Ezekiel chapter 1.

I wish I had time to do that, but I don't write this 1.

And then we have, then it goes into the Holy of Holy, the 7 trumpets, and We're going to get into that.

And then it goes into the Holy of Holies and the final issues that face the world.

Now let me say this about the 7 churches, 7 trumpets and 7 seals.

This is the repeat and enlarge principle.

So they're covering the same time period.

They're covering the time period from the time of Jesus' ascension all the way to the second coming.

And the sixth church, the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet, transitions us in time from the holy place into the most holy place.

The courtyard was prophetic of the ministry of Jesus on the earth.

You could see Jesus, but when he goes to heaven you can't see him any longer.

The priest goes into the first compartment of the sanctuary, can't see him any longer.

And so then there's 2 phases in the heavenly sanctuary in time, and that takes us from the time of Christ to the close of the 2300 days and then the 2300 days to the close of human history.

You got that, you understand the sanctuary, so we'll just go from there.

Now let's go right to this and I saw 7 angels who stand before God and they had 7 trumpets were given to them.

In scripture you'll find that trumpets are blown as an alarm.

In other words they are to tell you that something is about to happen, usually judgment.

Here's a text, a parallel text from Joel 2.1.

Blow a trumpet in Zion, sound the alarm for the what?

Note the parallels between the fall of Jericho and the 7 trumpets.

I think there's a parallel here from Joshua 6, 4, 6 and 20.

And the Lord said to Joshua, see, I have given Jericho in your hands, and 7 priests shall bear 7 trumpets and take up the ark of the covenant and let 7 priests bear 7 trumpets of ram's horns before the ark of the Lord.

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets.

Okay, you can see the quick parallel, 7 angels, 7 priests, 7 trumpets, and then it says that they bore this before the ark of the Lord.

In the sanctuary, where does the ark, I mean, where does the altar of incense sit?

Paul actually in the book of Hebrews includes it into the Holy of Holies.

Now we know it wouldn't actually sit in the Holy of Holies, but it had a distinct function, connection, between the first compartment and the second compartment.

And so at any rate, it sits before the Ark, directly in front of the Ark.

So anyway, I just thought that was kind of an interesting parallel.

So 7 priests blew 7 horns for 7 days before the Ark of the Covenant.

The blowing of these horns announced the coming judgments of God on Jericho.

When by the power of God the city walls fell flat, the city was turned into ashes and was not to be rebuilt.

Does that sound familiar about the coming judgments as far as this world is concerned?

And then the 7 trumpets represent God's judgments on the enemies of His church.

The church, number 5, the church keeps the commandments of God in the faith of Jesus which are represented in the Ark of the Covenant.

6, when the trumpets finish blowing, the enemies of God's church are destroyed by the power of God, and the cities of the nations fell, and the earth and all that is in it is burned up.

So I want to say this, the judgments of God are already in the land.

There's the final judgment, but the judgments of God are already here and they're already operating.

And this shows that if God had not had these trumpets the Christianity true Christianity would have been wiped from the face of the earth.

Another angel came and stood at the altar that's the altar of incense in the holy place holding a golden censer and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne." So the picture here that as you pray that these prayers of ours go to heaven, Jesus adds his incense to our prayers.

His incense is his perfect wonderful righteousness, his own perfect life.

And he adds that and makes it acceptable to the Heavenly Father.

And then we notice what happens when those prayers go through Christ as our high priestly intercessor.

And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand.

The angel took the censure and filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it to where?

So your prayers in heaven, our prayers in heaven, have a direct impact on the earth.

So the prayers go up, but the reactions come down on earth.

And through to the earth, and there follow pills of thunder, lightning, and an earthquake.

Babylon has always been the great enemy of God's people and Revelation picks up that theme here.

And the early church understood Rome to be the Babylon.

And so the New Testament, the book of Revelation picks up Babylon.

The New Testament also uses Babylon as a code word for pagan Rome or for Rome.

And I'm just going to go right on past that because but that's very important you'll see in a moment.

Rome and both its pagan and its papal or religious phases have been proven to be the enemy of God's faithful church for over 2, 000 years.

Rome, and whatever phase it comes in, pagan or religious, the trumpets announce God's judgments on both phases of Rome And we'll see that without those judgments, Bible truth would have perished from the earth.

Now the trumpets are divided into 2 groups.

The first 4 are God's judgments on imperial pagan Rome, if you please.

And the last 3 are God's judgments on apostate Christian Rome.

And each is judged by something like itself.

I made an interesting discovery a few years ago, I want to share that with you.

The first trumpet sounded, and here's the first trumpet, sounded and there came hail, fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

So these are symbols, and I found in my margin, because people say, what are all these symbols?

And I found same symbols being used in the Old Testament against the enemies of Israel.

So I want to share a little bit with that parallel.

And this is God's judgments on apostate Israel.

1 third of you shall die of pestilence and consumed by famine.

1 third will fall by the sword, and I will scatter another third.
