We have 4 promises that are at Passover time.

And they're always discussed at Passover time.

Now I think it would be good if we would talk about them at communion time.

So it says, I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rid you out of their bondage, I'll redeem you with a stretched out arm and I'll take you to me for a people." Those are the 4 promises.

So each promise was to be a personal and living reality for the Jews that first Passover night.

Because they were leaving, They were going out from underneath the burdens of the Egyptians.

They were no longer going to be stuck in that work mode, in that oppression mode, burdensome mode.

That backpack was falling off their back.

Do you read anywhere in there about a human being doing any of that?

So anyways, no, this is the Lord who is promising every single 1 of these things.

So the Lord will bring you out from under the burns of the Egyptians.

He's gonna bring you out of their bondage.

He will take you to Him for a special person.

So every Passover meal, the Jews discussed these promises so that created their reason, their identity as a nation, it created them for their existence.

And the Passover, you notice, they weren't a nation till they came out of Egypt.

So we need communion as much as the Jews needed Passover to unify us, to recreate us into an identity, to an existence.

It gave them purpose to be on this planet and it set them apart from everyone else.

When a non-believer comes into church and we're doing communion, it must look strange to them because they have no experience with who we are communing with.

You know, you and I don't do Passover because we're not Jews.

God doesn't want us to do Passover anymore.

Because that nation is history as far as salvational merit.

The Jews are not the ones who are bringing salvation to the world.

They refused to be Israel, which is a symbol of Christ.

The nation of Israel was to be a symbol of Christ, and they rejected their purpose and existence.

So now God is like, I'm going to start over, kind of like the Noah thing.

He's going to start over with a whole new nation, which is the believers in Christ.

And Noah's not only Seventh-day Adventists.

And so anyways, I run into them all the time in my Bible studies.

So anyways, God is trying to recreate us into his nation to that will really represent Christ.

So, Christ brings us out from under habitually destroying sins.

We can be delivered and freed by Christ's pardoning power.

His great and far-reaching hand will redeem us with frightening judgments on Satan." If you remember during Passover, the last thing was what?

All the Egyptians first born was going to die.

Because God was killing, He was destroying the strength of that nation, their hope of their nation.

Jesus will take us close to His heart and soon to His heavenly home, always to live in his presence.

So communion represents the prophecy of Genesis 315.

I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed.

It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

This is the prophecy that was done, that is at communion time, that entity is hatred between sin and righteousness.

If we did not have that gift of hatred for sin, we would never come to the Lord.

If you ever notice in prisons, there is still a level of righteousness, a standard we can say.

It used to be years ago, When the homosexuals got put in prison, they didn't live.

Not the homosexuals, I'm sorry, the child molesters.

The inmates could not, that was below their standard.

And it's interesting, even in the worst environment you still have a standard that that is not acceptable.

Now there's just so many of them in there they can't keep up.

You don't hear so many getting killed anymore.

But anyways, that enmity is prophesied and it comes true at communion.

Communion is going to create a new hatred for sin.

Because when you're washing the feet, you recognize, oh I got this wrong, I do that wrong, I don't think right with this.

It's like, man, I just hate it that I'm not like Christ.

So the power of Satan and the power of sin will be broken.

So then communion will then be able to direct us to another event, which is the Second Coming.

All Christ's promises culminate at the Second Coming.

So, both are memorials of God's deliverance from slavery and sin, because that's what they're remembering every year they do Passover.

And they're supposed to be thinking God took us out of sin.

I'm afraid they don't think about that too much.

But that's what communion is to remind us of.

God died, you know, Jesus Christ died for me.

I don't have to live with pride or lust or thievery or, you know, just go down the list of the 10 Commandments.

When I'm doing communion, I'm like, Wow, God delivered me from my past.

Whatever your past is, you're free of that.

Both are reminders of God's power on behalf of His people.
