Memorizing the Bible and Scriptures with Pictures - Part 2

It is with great kindness and generosity, Lord, that you bring us to this moment of learning scriptures from your word, which we desire to treasure in our heart.

So please send your Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct our voices and our conversations and our thoughts to be able to understand more deeply and more earnestly these things that are written there for the edification of your body, the church.

In Jesus' precious, loving, and kind name, amen.

Today we will be memorizing 5 scriptures about the Bible authority with Bible-rich pictures.

And our first question is, how important is God's word to us and our lives?

And we find the answer in Psalm 119, 105.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

And we have the Psalms icon which is the upside down note that makes a P for the first letter in Psalms.

And the icon for Psalm 119 is the 2 ones made into an open book with the caption of the word saying, Thy Word.

And in Psalm 119, we didn't tell you this on Monday, but this is almost a book within itself.

So we always give the verse with it on the Psalm 119.

And That way we can differentiate the pictures.

And so this is going to be saying 1, 1, and that 9 for thy word.

And so you can think of this is like God, and this is his word.

Is a lamp, so the 1 is made into a lamp, unto my feet.

So this psalm note will be representing my, and then we think of that big kind of an oval shape of a 0 where your foot could go in for the feet.

So here is a light bulb that's sticking out to make the top of the 5.

You can think that's on your door, by your door, or like a lamp stand on the road that you're going around and the bottom of the 5 is gonna make the path that you're walking on and here's a little lamb drawn on it to know that it's God's people on their path.

The Word of God is their light unto their path.

It goes together like this, Psalm 119, Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Thy word is a light unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Our next question is, oh so now we we're going to say this text and Johanna is going to help us visualize it thy word you should see the psalm note with the 1 and the 1 with the book open and the caption with the 9 is a lamp unto my feet.

The 1 is made into the lamp and then my feet with the psalm saying my and the oval with the feet and a light the top of the 5 is the light bulb on a stand unto my path and the psalm note I forgot to tell you that other psalm note down here is for my path.

And we'll repeat this 1 more time together.

And we did learn that during the process of this, that when you're actually doing a single psalm, we leave off the S.

We talk about the book of Psalms with the plural S.

But if you're talking about an individual psalm chapter, it's always the Psalm without the S.

How can we be sure God will give us wisdom to understand the Bible?

And our key text is, liberally and upbraideth not.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

The James icon is the front end loader, and it's made a golden color, like we said the other day, that's because it's faith, works without faith is dead, or faith without works is dead, so you need the works, and it's a light golden color to represent God helping us for with God all things are possible without God we can do nothing and So we have over here if any of you lack wisdom So here is a man in the 1, and you can think of the arrow going down that he's lacking wisdom.

So here's his voice asking, and we're gonna use this cloud to represent God.

So now it works perfectly for this front end loader to be pouring out all this wisdom onto this man over here.

So now we have the shovel that's holding it back and the 1 going across saying that it's not giving it to him.

Although We're using upbraideth, and it even makes kind of a U shape for upbraideth.

But actually, upbraideth means he's not going to get on to you for asking him.

And then, and it shall be given him, is the cloud.

Same over here, just another picture that God will give that wisdom to you if you ask.

James 1, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally.

Oh, and also the liberally has the L's, 3 L's in it, which is another clue that it's in chapter 1 with all those 1 shapes of the L's.

And upbraideth not and it shall be given him.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

If any of you, the man standing in the 1 shape, lack wisdom, the 1 shape with the arrow coming down on his head let him ask of God the mouth speaking to the cloud over here to ask of God that give it to all men liberally The James icon pouring out wisdom on the man liberally.

The cloud with the front end loaded emptying the wisdom on the man in this shape of the 1 and we'll repeat this 1 more time james 1 if any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him James 1 what warnings regarding Bible truth are given in the scriptures.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Second Timothy is the toddler.

First Timothy is going to be the little baby because that was Paul's son in Christ And it just works out nice because there's, Second Timothy has 4 chapters, and this kind of makes the shape of the 4, and First Timothy has 6, so we have him bundled up in a little baby to make the bottom of the 6.

And so we start up here with Study to show thyself.

So we think of studying, children studying also.

You can think of a child studying here, the Bible at the end point of the 2.

And to show, we have the 2 eyeballs to represent, made in a 2 shape, to represent show thyself approved, and you can think of the A, bottom part of the A for his head, there's 2 A's in this 1, for approved unto God, and so we put a cloud at the top of this for that phrase, so that would go, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed.

So we put a hammer now in the toddler's hand to show for a workman that needeth not be ashamed.

So now he's falling over because you don't need to fall over and he's got a sad face that he's ashamed.

Rightly dividing, so we're going to go to the top of the 2 and go to the right, rightly, rightly, and then dividing, the divide sign is a line with the 2 dots in it, or you can think of this as like a knife or a sword cutting, coming, it's dividing the word of truth in half.

And then we have, so rightly dividing the word of truth, we just put the Bible down here with it divided in half in truth.

And Timothy, start with a T, and so does 2.

When you say truth, you can just think to in Timothy.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Memorizing the Bible and Scriptures with Pictures - Part 3

Our kind, loving, most gracious Heavenly Father, with such loving kindness and pity and yearning that we have for you about this world and about learning scriptures, Father, we want and desire so much to know more about you through your words, so please send us your Holy Spirit that may enlighten us and encourage us and strengthen us and that we may know thy will, that thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We pray in Jesus' precious, lovely name, amen.

Today we will be memorizing 5 scriptures about Jesus' second coming with Bible-rich pictures.

And our first question is, will Jesus come quietly when he returns?

Our key text is, Lord himself shall descend.

And the answer is in 1 Thessalonians 4, for The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.

The icon for Thessalonians, first and second, is the tower.

There is a white tower that sits in Thessalonica on the Mediterranean Sea.

And so we use that for our icon because it actually can make a nice T shape up here for you to remember the T and the H for Thessalonians and we put a lady at the top because this is where when Alexander the Great conquered the territory He renamed this city after his sister Thessalonica.

And so we put that up there so you can remember Thessalonica and Thessalonians.

And we'll start here at the beginning where it says, for the Lord himself.

So we've made a 4 with a man sitting in it to represent Jesus with his crown and his trumpet coming.

And with an arrow going down to represent shall descend from heaven we put a cloud around the 4 with Jesus there and then with a shout oh and another thing about the Thessalonians first and second Thessalonians tells a lot about the second coming of Jesus.

And so, you can think, first of all, it's going to be with a shout, because it's always confusing, which 1 of these is first.

So if you think of this, the furthest distance out for this person to hear would be with a shout.

And then with the voice of an archangel, you can think of the cloud making an arch for arc, and then that's the voice of the archangel, and then go closer to him with the trump of God.

And it goes together like this, 1 Thessalonians 4, for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel and with the trump of God.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God.

1 Thessalonians 4, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.

You should see the 4 with Jesus in there and we did it yellow because he's it's going to be really bright and shining and on his throne, shall descend from heaven.

You should see the 4 with an arrow coming down and the cloud around them for heaven.

With a shout, you should see that Thessalonica lady with a shout by her.

And the voice coming out of the arc of the cloud.

You should see the 4 with the Trump with Jesus holding the Trump, representing the Trump of God.

And let's repeat this 1 more time together.

First Thessalonians 4, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.

Revelation 1 Behold he cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him.

The icon for Revelation is the 12 jewels and so we've put that underneath Jesus to represent when he comes he's going to take us to the city with the 12 jewel foundations And we start up here at the top with behold.

So we have an I to represent beholding, to look at.

And we've put it in the letter of an I also with the bottom line of the I to represent the 1.

And we did that because it talks about every I, and so you can think of the letter I also for 1.

So we have Jesus in a 1 with the arrow coming down that he's coming surrounded with the clouds at the bottom and Every eye so then we made an eyeball in the shape of that letter I with the bottom making the 1 Shall see him And so this person down here is going to be, see him.

And it goes together like this, revelation 1, behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him.

Behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him.

You should see the eyeball making the dot of the I in a 1 and thus Him coming down in this number with the cloud on the bottom of it.

And the eyeball over here making the letter I.

And the man down here with his eyes looking up to see Jesus coming in that number 1.

Behold, he cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him.

Does anyone but God have immortality now?

And 1 Timothy 6 tells us, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who only hath immortality.

And the icon for first Timothy is the baby.

And second Timothy was the toddler, because this is Paul's son in the Lord.

And so we have the King of Kings, so the top line of the 6 we made into a man with a crown to represent the King, which is what we'll say is God there, of Kings.

So now this little baby he's has a crown on him also made into the shape of this 6.

So you can put that it's the 6 that has the king of kings.

So now we have also that God is the Lord of Lords.

So we've got the man making this 1, or the side of the line of the 6.

And it also on the side of him, we put an L, and then the 6, the bottom of the 6 with first Timothy in it to make the O and R and D.

He is also the Lord of Lords and we put silver crowns because that would be a little bit less possibly than Kings and then who only so the bottom of the 6 think of it as the O for only and a 0, the only 1, no 1 else, just this 1, hath immortality.

So we put a line going up from the 6 all the way up with an arrow, meaning that he just goes on and on and on forever.

And we say it like this, 1 Timothy 6, the King of kings and Lord of lords who only hath Immortality.

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who only hath immortality.

The King of Kings and Lord of lords, who only hath immortality.

You should see the line of the 6 coming down made into a man to represent God being the king and the baby, representing the other kings.

And the man again over here representing the Lord and the baby with the silver crowns being the Lord of lords.

You should see that 6 making a 0 for, or an O for only, and also 0, that no 1 else has immortality, and then the 6 going up with the arrow going out, meaning going forever, immortality.

The King of Kings and Lord of Lords who only hath immortality.

Memorizing the Bible and Scriptures with Pictures - Part 4

Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for your word, the Holy Scriptures, the Bible that we have, that you've given us, inspired, and we plead and ask for the Holy Spirit to give us now the wisdom and understanding that's necessary to know your word, and we give you thanks in the precious, loving, redeeming name of Jesus.

Today we'll be memorizing 5 scriptures about the authority of the Bible with Bible Rich Preachers and we go by questions just like we're conducting a Bible study with ourselves.

So our first question is, how does memorizing the Bible help us?

And we include a key text, not sin against thee.

So it helps us know what scripture we're looking for.

And the answer is found in Psalms 119, verse 11.

Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

So Johanna, tell us more about this picture.

All right, our icon for Psalms is the upside down music letter because Psalms means spiritual songs.

So that you remember it's Psalm, the first letter of Psalms is P.

Then we have Psalm 119 so we took the 2 ones from it and put the Bible, open Bible, in between and then we put an icon like it's a caption saying, thy word and God speaks his word and the prophets spoke his word.

Then have I hid in my heart, so we have a heart here and then we have the psalm note.

Now this is you hiding the word, which is the book, Bible open, in your heart.

So that's the first part of Psalm 119, 11.

And then we did another Psalm 119 picture with that I might not sin.

So here's a man standing there in the shape of a 1, and then another 1 for the not sign over the number 9, this is commandment 9, thou shalt not lie, if you were at the booth and you saw that 1, And so we use those in our pictures so that you can memorize them.

So that's that I might not sin, and then this verse 11, against thee, we have the 11 made into a man with his hand up, and the psalm note upside down like a weapon, like against sweet Jesus standing there in the 1 of the other 11.

Thy word hath a hidden in my heart that I might not sin against thee?

And let's say it 3 more times to lock it into our memory.

I'm going to read the text and as I read the text, you take the image that you were just reviewing, and let's lock the image into our mind just by reading the text.

And then I'm going to help you visualize it.

And she'll help, and Johanna will help us visualize it.

Thy word Have I hidden mine heart that I might not sin against thee?

With that sin and then the 11th with the man standing there, yeah, fighting against Jesus.

So then we review the picture again and this time let's go ahead and repeat it again together.

Psalm 119 11 Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119 11 What must we do for God to help us understand the Bible?

Jeremiah 33 is the answer, and the Bible tells us, call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

Johanna, tell us more about this picture.

Jeremiah icon is made into the house with the pit, with the mire down here that Jeremiah sunk into because there was no water.

So we make them also in this shape, like this is the J for Jera, and then you can think mire, because he sank into the mire for Jeremiah.

And then we have 33, the first 33, we have like Jeremiah down here, and this is lips.

So that's a 3 made into lips with the voice.

And he's calling unto me, this is God up here you can say.

And it's made into a 3, and I in the shape of lips with the voice coming out and I will answer thee.

So that's the first part and then we have and show thee great and mighty.

So now we have the 3 first 3 made into eyeballs for show thee and then down this 3 we're gonna have to go up great and mighty.

And this is, we're also hiding in some of these already the verse, because later on after you get this part, then you can get the verse, because after you've memorized 2, 000, you start getting them mixed up, was that the verse or the chapter number so we've kind of hit this will have 2 dots it'll be 33 verse 3 later on we do the very rich but right now we want to get the chapter and the book of a chapter in our minds.

And in things which thou knowest not, this is Daniel who was reading Jeremiah, and this is probably what he read so he could know to call on God and he would get in that dream.

And it says he will show that Daniel, he was shown those things which he knew not.

So there's a blank up there, and this is the great image with the head of gold, arms of silver, belly of brass, iron legs, and the rock that hits it.

Yeah, so let's go ahead and repeat these 3 times.

Right, And now let's go ahead and repeat it 3 times to lock it in our memories.

Jeremiah 33, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33 Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33.

Now I'll read the text and Johanna will help put the imagery back into place.

You should see the Jeremiah down here with a mouth on this 3 and another 3 with this mouth calling unto him.

And then this mouth answering the person down in the pit.

And so that you should see the eyeballs for that 3 and then the great at the bottom of the next 3.

And the mighty things with the man with the arm muscles in a 3 shape.

And show the great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

Now let's look at the picture again and we'll all repeat this together.

Jeremiah 33 Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.

According to Jesus, where do we find the truth?

And Johanna is going to tell us more about this picture.

All right, the icon for John is the world and the hands because the gospels are in 4 different aspects of God.

And the fourth 1 is that he is God, of John.

And we made that into the letter A because John is all about God, and this is where you find all the I ams because in Exodus 3 is where he says, I am that I am, he's the present living God, and so John 6 says I am the bread, John 8 you'll have I am the light of the world and Before Abraham was I am John 9 is I am the light of the world and John 10 is I'm the door John 11 is I am the resurrection and the life, raising Lazarus, and then in John 14 we have I am the way, the truth, and the life.

So This, we use this in a lot of the Johns, because that's a lot that he says.

And so now, this is Jesus again over here in the 1, for the, and we're gonna have that be the, not a, he is the way, and so we have this for, and you can think it's the north the south east and west he has all the way to get to heaven So these you just use these little clues to put in your mind to block in 1 and a 4 is I am the way And then he is the truth, and so we know in Psalm 119, 151, and 142 says that all thy commandments are truth, and thy law is truth.

So we use that in this 4 for the truth, and the life, and so plants, when they're blooming and growing, we know that's life.

The life is in the plant, and so you can now not get confused with I am the way and the truth and the light, because a lot of times we don't know if it's life or life.

So now you can remember it's the life, and also the John icon works good in this because he created everything.

So you can think of life also connecting it in John for this.

We'll say, John 14, I am the way, the truth, and the life.

Our Heavenly Father, it is with such a marvelous wisdom that you give us this Word of God, the Bible, your Holy Word, that we have come to search and seek understanding.

So please send your Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct all of our thoughts and our discussions that we may glorify you in the precious lovely name of Jesus.

The first half of the seminar we will be learning scriptures that come from our Seventh Day Adventist 28 Fundamental Doctrines.

We'd like to take full advantage of the time we have to experience this new technique of memorizing, so let's get started.

Today we'll be memorizing 5 scriptures about Jesus' second coming with Bible-rich pictures.

And our first question is, what is the purpose of Jesus' second coming?

And we have a key text that we're looking for the answer from this text is receive you And we find the answer in John 14 And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.
