God’s Impeachment Inquiry

Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you for the wonderful blessings which you constantly bestow upon your people, upon us.

And now, Lord, as we open your Word this morning, I pray for a fresh outpouring of your Spirit.

May you guide us, lead us, and teach us, is our prayer in Jesus' name.

Thank you for the scripture reading, for the songs.

You know, the last few weeks has, the word impeachment has been running across the headlines of all the news outlets, all the news media outlets have been talking about this impeachment inquiry that took place or is happening currently in Congress.

In fact, the House of Representatives in Congress voted, I think it was last week or the week before, to officially impeach the president of the United States of America.

And so with all this impeachment talk going on, I got to thinking and I told myself, I don't think that we as Christians, we as Adventists understand that we are beholding another impeachment that you and I have been called upon to cast a vote in.

If you have your Bibles, turn now to the last book of the Bible, the book of Revelation chapter 12 and we're looking here at verse 7.

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels.

So the Bible says that war broke out where?

Now this is the first war the Bible ever talks about.

Now is heaven a place you think that war would first break out in?

It's a peaceful place, a loving place, a place where God dwells, where angels sit on clouds and play harps all day, isn't it?

But the Bible says war broke out in heaven.

Michael, who is Jesus, and his angels fought against the dragon.

Now what's interesting is when well being raised I got I always thought that this war in heaven was a cosmic Star Wars battle in heaven where where the good angels literally physically fought against the bad angels But when you actually read the Bible, you come to realize that's not the case.

In fact, the Hebrew, or the Greek rather, the Greek word for war is polemos, which is where we in English derive our word politics from.

So the Bible says that there was war in heaven.

Satan went to all the angels and said, God is not who he says he is.

How important is it for us to choose the right words when we speak?

Have you ever said something that you wish you hadn't said?

As soon as it comes out, you wish you never said it, and it ruins the whole circumstances in the room.

On voice and speech, she says, you cannot be too careful of what you say.

For the words you utter show what power is controlling your what?

If Christ rules in your heart, your words, sorry, your words it should say there, your words will reveal the purity, beauty, and fragrance of a character molded and fashioned by His will.

What you say can and will have lasting impact upon people and so It's so essential as Christians, as ambassadors of heaven, to choose wisely our words.

What we say, how we say it, it can have lasting impact upon people.

So the Bible says, yes, war breaks out in heaven.

Christ, Michael, fights against the dragon and his angels, and then the Bible says that something happens.

The Bible tells us this in the book of Ezekiel chapter 28.

Ezekiel chapter 28, and we are looking here at verse 17.

The Bible says, Thine heart was lifted up because of thy what?

Lucifer, the dragon, whom Michael raged war with, right?

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy what?

Lucifer, the dragon whom Michael raged war with, right?

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty thou has corrupted thy what?

Wisdom by reason of thy brightness I will cast thee where?

To the ground, and I will lay thee before kings that they may do what?

That they might Face you, behold you, the King James Version says, right?

So God says, Lucifer, I'm gonna cast you out, I'm gonna lay you before what?

Well, the Hebrew word, I will lay thee before kings, nathan, which simply means to be faced, right?

So what God actually does is he lays Lucifer out, he casts him down to the ground, he lays him out to be judged, to be faced, to be discerned.

Do you understand and realize that you and I have been called to be jurors in this impeachment inquiry?

We are all looking at, the entire universe is looking at the character of God, the character of Satan, and it's up to us to decide who's right and who's wrong, who's innocent and who's guilty.

We all are involved in an impeachment inquiry, this battle between good and evil, God and Satan.

And the Bible says that God laid Lucifer, He laid Satan before us, before kings to be judged.

Well, let's turn back to the book of Revelation.

And we're here in the first chapter, Revelation chapter 1 and looking at verse 6.

Revelation chapter 1 and we're here in verse 6.

Revelation chapter 1 and verse 6 it says, and hath made us 2 things, what?

Kings and priests unto God and His Father to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever, Amen.

So the Bible says that God has made us kings and what?

So when the Bible says that God casts Lucifer down to the ground and laid him before kings, what really happened was God cast him down, laid him before us to behold, us to judge.
