Bridging the Gap Part 1

Father in heaven, we thank you so much for this opportunity to come together to learn about this restaurant work and What you've called us to do in this last days.

We pray that your Holy Spirit be with us help us Lord to focus our minds and Understand the importance of this health message.

My wife Vonnell should be in here shortly.

We have 5 kids we run we have a I wouldn't call it a farm, but we have a nice size garden.

And then we also have a restaurant that we run and we also homeschool.

So I'm just going to tell you where we're at, and then we're going to go backwards, and I'm going to give you our testimony of how we got to this place.

So this is us at a public school, a public school.

And we were teaching the whole second grade, it was a couple hundred students in there about eating healthy.

So we went in there and you see, I'm like, so they came to me and say, well, because we'll talk about, we do something in our restaurant also called a 10-day health challenge, called Let the Healer Begin 10-day health challenge, which you guys are going to get some meat to it on that third hour, which is, this is revolutionary, and I'm so excited to share this part of it.

But through that, through that ministry that we did, it opened up a door for us to actually get into a public school system.

So we went in there and they said, could you come and teach about, you guys are so big about health and you do so much in the community, could you come and share with our second graders?

So we came into the school, I was like, so can you do it?

I was like, no problem, you know, of course.

So like, okay, how are we gonna keep a bunch of second graders focused for an hour?

So you see we've I had I had so many different misdirections going on.

We have 4 different boxes so we guess what's in the box, we gave different clues, we're like, okay, you know, it's red, and you know, we just kind of went, people's like, Coca-Cola, I was like, yes, and then what we did, what we illustrated to them, the importance of staying away from sugary beverages.

We talked about the army in our body, which is the white blood cells.

And if we do eat a lot of sugar, it suppresses our immune system for 4 hours.

I said, so we went, I said, anybody serve, anybody parents serve in the military?

And I said, what is it what is the purpose of an army?

Everybody's like, to protect us, to fight, da da da da da.

I said, what happens if the army goes to sleep?

I said, do you know there's an army in our body.

And we started going through the caffeinated beverages.

And we says, based off of your age, this is how much sugar you should eat.

This caffeinated beverage is like 6 times the amount of sugar that you eat.

And amazingly, we had made smoothies for them, right?

And the smoothies were, you know, we put in like, here go some mangoes.

Everybody's like, here go some mangoes, yeah.

And then we made the smoothies and we passed it around and they're smelling it and they're like, and they started tasting it and all the kids enjoyed it.

And another school invited us to do the same program.

So we see just just by doing things that the Lord has called us to do, they start to open us up.

So this is part of our 10-day health challenge that we're going to talk about, where we get people who are interested in making transitions in their health that we literally go into their homes, teach them how to cook.

If people say, how do you do it, we have a balance.

She makes things taste good, and she serves it to the people.

I'm the talker, I'm the salesperson, I'm the getting to doors, but this is where my wife shines.

I don't know if you can really see it because it's kind of dark on the thing, but maybe we could turn that last light off where we can see a little bit better.

I guess we can see that a little bit better.

So people say, have you ever done a kids cooking school before?

I said if they can walk, bring them in here.

So we had kids from, this is my daughter, but we had kids from 3 years old all the way up to teenagers, 18.

So Everything that we do, we try to make it evangelistic in nature, right?

We actually did this with the Cartersville Seventh-day Adventist Church.

We went in there, and we say, you know what?

It's not just going to be a one-day cooking school.

We're going to do a three-day cooking school.

And then the third night, we're gonna make a banquet.

And I want each person to go invite their family members to come out and see what they created.

And you'd be surprised how many people came to, I said, hey, what brings you here?

Not Christian, not church at all, but if granddaughter says, come see what I made, guess what?

And he was like, and they came and we had a wonderful Wonderful wonderful wonderful time and they just enjoyed itself and it was amazing.

We you would think In all the age groups, so we had, what was the age groups, from 3 to 5?

3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 11, and no, 9 to 12, and then 13 for all the teenagers up.

So who do you think was the most neediest age group the most neediest the least amount of mess yes you know we had extra, we brought wipes, we were ready and then you see I can't see their table, Actually, these are the guys right here.

They were cutting their bananas because we did like a banana split so we cut the bananas and we put almond butter on there we put chia seeds and different fruits on there and they made it and It was not a bit of mess, but that next class that next group I was like wearing they are wearing almond butter.

It was just amazing But we this is this is this is what we love to do.
