Welcome again to our series on Last Day Events Explained.

My name is Norman McNulty and I'm so glad that you are joining us here on Audioverse for this series of presentations.

It's hard to believe we're getting close to the end of these talks, and today is part 9 in our ten-part series, and today's presentation is entitled, God's People Delivered.

So we're going to have a great presentation going through the deliverance of God's people.

Before we do that, I am going to address a question that came in, a very good question that came in from Neil.

And the question was brought out that In the last presentation that was just shared, I mentioned that Satan personates Christ after probation closes, but during the presentation where I went through the 4 stages of the Sunday Law, I suggested that Satan would personate Christ before the death decree during stage 3.

I'll admit that I made a mistake in the 4 stages of the Sunday Law by saying that Satan impersonates Christ before probation closes, because when you look at Ellen White's statement in Great Controversy, page 624, Satan personates Christ after Jacob's time of trouble has already begun, which clearly begins after probation closes.

So the most recent presentation was more accurate in stating that Satan personates Christ after probation closes, But if you look at Revelation 16 and the sixth plague specifically, you see that there's 3 unclean spirits like frogs that appear after the river Euphrates dries up.

The river Euphrates represents the source of support for Babylon, water represents people, it's the Euphrates that supplied the ancient city of Babylon, and as the people begin to turn against Babylon, As the plagues have been pouring out by the time the sixth plague comes in setting the stage for the Battle of Armageddon 1 of the last acts in the drama or the last crowning act and the drama is for Satan to personate Christ to try to shore up the support of those who have been receiving the plague.

So good question, and you know, I don't always get it right.

Hopefully what we've been going through here is giving you a clear picture, though, of the timeline of the sequence of events but yeah during the 4 stages of the Sunday Law I did misspeak by saying that Satan would personate Christ during the third stage of the Sunday Law.

This will actually be during the fourth stage of the Sunday Law after probation closes So good question.

Let's go ahead and ask the Lord to guide us through this presentation.

Father in heaven, we thank you for this opportunity to continue to study last day events.

And as we see the signs around us and we see that Jesus is coming soon, I pray that we would be ready and be mindful, and we thank you that the promises that as the world comes to an end, that God's people will be delivered.

Guide us now through this presentation, I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

I should also mention that today is Part 9.

Next week we will have Part 10 on the Second Coming, and then we will have an 11th part, which just goes through questions that have come in.

So we are going through the topic of God's people being delivered.

And ultimately that deliverance comes at the second coming, but even before the second coming there will be a period, a short period of time where it becomes clear that God's people will have survived the death decree.

So, part 7, we looked at the death decree, and then part 8, last week, we looked at Jacob's time of trouble, which is the spiritual struggle God's people go through, especially during the battle of Armageddon, during the sixth plague, although Jacob's time of trouble has begun even before them.

And the good news is that deliverance for God's people comes.

So let's look at what the Bible says, starting in Daniel 12, verse 1.

We've continued to look at this passage, but it really gives a nice sequence for how it all plays out at the end.

So in Daniel 12, verse 1, it starts off with a familiar statement, and at that time, shall Michael stand up, the great prince, which standeth for the children of thy people.

And there shall be a time of trouble." So Michael stands up, we've already talked about this, when probation closes, when there's a death decree, then we see there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.

That's Jacob's time of trouble that we talked about last week, then it says, "...and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every 1 that shall be found written in the book." So those who stand through the judgment, those who stand through Jacob's time of trouble will be delivered.

So there will be a deliverance of God's people, those whose names are found written in the book of life, which is a clear evidence that there is an investigative judgment, and that the end result of the investigative judgment is that God's people will be delivered.

There's another corollary passage in the book of Joel, and I would invite you to turn there, Joel chapter 2, talking about the deliverance of God's people.

And I have verse 31 on the screen, or verse 32 on the screen, but I'm gonna read verse 31 as well.

Talking about the end of the world, it says, The sun shall be turned into darkness, that's May 19, 1780, and the moon turned into blood, that's the same day, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

And now notice verse 32, and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.

For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

Now this word delivered is the same in Joel 2 as it is in Daniel 12, verse 1.

And verse 31 of Joel 2 makes it very clear that this is end-of-the-world language.

And so, if you look at this passage, Mount Zion, Jerusalem, and the remnant are synonymous with each other.

Mount Zion was on the north side of Jerusalem, and it's Bing compared to Bing the remnant.

And I believe you see those entities at the end of Daniel chapter 11, where the tabernacles of the palace from the king of the north are planted between the sea and the glorious holy mountain.

The glorious holy mountain represents Mount Zion, you see that in Psalm 48.

And so Mount Zion symbolizes the remnant or Jerusalem, the 144, 000.

And Joel 2.32 is basically saying, whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered.

These are the ones who stand through Jacob's time of trouble.

Those who are in Mount Zion, these are the 144, 000 who will stand on Mount Zion with the Lamb.

These are those who are in spiritual Jerusalem, or the remnant church, those who keep the commandments of God, have the testimony of Jesus Christ, they are the ones who have called on the name of the Lord, and they will be the ones who receive deliverance.

Another fascinating passage is found in Isaiah chapter 4, verses 3 through 6.

And Isaiah 2, 3, and 4 are clearly prophecies related to the end of time.

In Isaiah chapter 2 and chapter 3, you see where the Lord will arise terribly to shake the earth or to shake terribly the earth.

And in Isaiah chapter 4, starting in verse 3, it says, and it shall come to pass that he that is left in Zion and he that remaineth in Jerusalem shall be called holy, even everyone that is written among the living in Jerusalem.

So very similar to Joel 2.32, very similar to Daniel 12, verse 1, with the deliverance of God's people.

Those who are in Zion, those who remain in Jerusalem, that's the remnant.

Those who are called holy, everyone that is written among the living in Jerusalem, That's the ones who have their names found written in the book.

Verse 4, When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, meaning these are God's people who have had their sins blotted out, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

So there you see the end of the judgment.

Verse 5, And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night.

For upon all the glory shall be a defense, and there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain." There you see the deliverance of God's people again, where He will shield them from heat and from storm.

And those who are left in Zion, those who remain in Jerusalem, they will be the ones who will be called holy, they will be written among the living in Jerusalem.

These are the people that we want to be, friends.

We want to be found written in the book when Michael stands up.

We want to be the ones who have called on the name of the Lord.

We want to be accounted as being Mount Zion, Jerusalem, or the remnant.

We want to be among those written among the living in Jerusalem, those who are called holy.

And so, these are the ones that are going to be delivered.

Now, I'm going to read some statements from Ellen White here to paint a clearer picture about the deliverance of God's people.

And this first statement is from early writings, page 282.

And here Ellen White says, I saw the saints leaving the cities and villages and associating together in companies and living in the most solitary places.

Angels provided them food and water while the wicked were suffering from hunger and thirst." So during the 7 last plagues, the wicked are suffering from hunger and thirst, and the righteous, the saints, are associating together in companies in the most solitary places, and angels are providing us food and water.

Now here's a very interesting statement from Maranatha, page 270, and this is very fascinating to see how God's people will be brought together and protected during Jacob's time of trouble after probation closes.

Notice what Ellen White says, During the night, a very impressive scene passed before me.

There seemed to be great confusion and the conflict of armies.

A messenger from the Lord stood before me and said, Call your household, I will lead you, follow me.

He led me down a dark passage, through a forest, then through the cluffs of mountains, and said, Here you are safe.

There were others who had been led to this retreat.

The heavenly messenger said, the time of trouble has come as a thief in the night, as the Lord warned you it would come.

Here's the amazing thing, during the time of trouble, when we are fleeing to the mountains, angels will lead us to safe places where they have led other saints, other righteous people, and we will be given food and water.

And while the wicked are suffering from hunger and thirst, our bread will be given to us, our water will be sure.

And isn't it a nice thought and promise to realize that God will lead us to other righteous people, perhaps to our close and dear friends, where we will have associates that we can encourage each other during this time, even though it seems like things look bleak.

And so I really like that statement from Maranatha, page 270, that angels will lead us through dark passages, through forests, through the cluffs of the mountains, to safe places where others will be located who are also righteous.

You know, there's some parallels to the time of Queen Esther and to the plight of God's people who faced the death decree.

Just as Haman moved upon the king Ahasuerus, who didn't realize exactly what was happening, The king moved upon him to declare a death decree against the Jews, and thankfully God worked in a marvelous way to deliver the Jews through Queen Esther and Mordecai.

He's going to work in a similar way on our behalf, and there's some statements from Ellen White about this.

This is found in Prophets and Kings, starting on page 605.

The decree that will finally go forth against the remnant people of God will be very similar to that issued by Ahasuerus against the Jews.

Today, the enemies of the true Church see in the little company keeping the Sabbath commandment a Mordecai at the gate.

The reverence of God's people for his law is a constant rebuke to those who have cast off the fear of the Lord and are trampling on His Sabbath." The quote continues, Satan will arouse indignation against the minority who refuse to accept popular customs and traditions.

Men of position and reputation will join with the lawless and the vile to take counsel against the people of God.

Wealth, genius, education will combine to cover them with contempt.

Persecuting rulers, ministers, and church members will conspire against them.

With voice and pen, by boasts, threats, and ridicule, they will seek to overthrow their faith.

By false representations and angry appeals, men will stir up the passions of the people.

Not having a thus saith the Scriptures to bring against the advocates of the Bible Sabbath, they will resort to oppressive enactments to supply the lack.

To secure popularity and patronage, legislators will yield to the demand for Sunday laws, but those who fear God cannot accept an institution that violates a precept of the Decalogue.

Now notice this, on this battlefield will be fought the last great conflict in the controversy between truth and error.

And we are not left in doubt as to the issue.
