Without Which No One Will See The Lord

All right, I'm gonna say a word of prayer, and then we'll dive into the word of God together.

Dear Father in heaven, we're grateful, Lord, that you are here with us.

We are in desperate need of your Holy Spirit, dear God.

I have nothing to give, Lord, this morning, other than a sin-polluted heart that needs to be cleansed and purified by your blood.

So we're asking for a special blessing from you to rain down upon each and every 1 of us this morning.

Allow your word, dear God, to speak to our hearts directly, individually, and personally this morning.

May we hear your voice and choose to follow you wherever you will lead us.

We thank you, Lord, and pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

All right, well, it's been a little while since I've been with you.

Last time we were outside, and now we are inside, amen?

We've made some advances in our fight with COVID over the last few months, and I'm glad that we can be together in this way.

The title of this morning's message is, Without Which No 1 Will See the Lord.

Without which no 1 will see the Lord." During this time of COVID, how many of you have noticed that things have been a little bit different in our world?

I'm actually tired of talking about COVID.

I'm just gonna skip all this COVID stuff because who cares about COVID?

I'm gonna skip all that stuff I was gonna share about COVID because I don't care about COVID anymore, amen?

We're fighting it, hopefully it'll be gone and totally gone soon.

So we're gonna dive right into the Word of God, we're gonna hit it hard, we're gonna go to Hebrews 12 and look at verse 14.

The title once again is, without which no 1 will see the Lord.

Hebrews chapter 12, hopefully you have a Bible this morning.

We will be searching the scriptures, whether it's on your phone, on an iPad, or in the codex here of the scriptures.

We all should be looking at the Word of God together.

When you get there, go ahead and say, I'm there.

All right, so I think that's the majority of us.

It says there in Hebrews 12 verse 14, Pursue peace with all people and holiness without which no 1 will see the Lord.

We are gonna begin our message here this morning and also end here a little later.

But the crux of this message is, without what we're gonna be talking about today, no 1 will see the Lord.

How many of you are Seventh-day Adventists here?

So this message is gonna be important because without this, no 1 will see the Lord.

This is gonna be a very simple message this morning.

I'm not gonna try and get very complicated or confusing.

I wanna make things very clear by the grace of God this morning about what is gonna take place or how we are going to see Christ come, what needs to take place before Christ arrives on the scene.

And we're going to look simply at a few things, 3 things this morning.

1, and who prepared the way for Christ's first coming?

Number 2, what was Christ's confirmation message to John the Baptist after he came?

And then number 3, what will prepare the way for Christ's second coming?

So number 1, who or what or who prepared the way for Christ's first coming?

John the Baptist prepared the way for the Lord.

And do you think we can learn any lessons for us today from what John taught back in his time?

She says, John the Baptist went forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord and to turn the people to the wisdom of the just.

He was a representative of those living in the last days.

To whom God has entrusted sacred truths to present before the people to prepare the way for the second appearing of Christ.

So we see here that John's message, his life, his preaching was to prepare the way for the first coming of Christ and would be a lesson for us who are sharing the message in the last days.

Now I wanna hear from you this morning, just really quick before we get into the word, what your thoughts are.

What are your thoughts when you hear the message of John the Baptist, what comes to your mind?

I heard repent, I heard prepare the way, anyone else?

He comes baptizing with the water, but the Lord, the Messiah, will come baptizing with the spirit and with fire.

So no 1 has mentioned something I think is very important, and we're going to get to that, but you all have mentioned true things.

Everything that has been mentioned so far is very true, and we're going to see that right now.

I'm going to break John's message into 3 things.

Let's dive in together here in John chapter 1.

John chapter 1, the first thing we're gonna look at is 1 that someone mentioned.

His message was a message of looking at the Savior, looking at Jesus, keeping our eyes focused on him.

The Bible says there, now this is the testimony of John.

When the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who are you?
