Fresh manna fell to the ground as a gift from God while the Israelites were in the wilderness.

It was fresh from the ovens of heaven, baked by the master baker himself.

How the Israelites must have anticipated the taste and the smell of each morning's delivery.

Just like the Israelites, you too can now experience the taste and the smell of fresh manna.

Today you will be listening to Garrett Morgan, pastor of Big Rapids, Bristol, and Reed City Seventh-Day Adventist churches.

We're blessed to be in the Lord's house today.

You know, 1 of my church members in Big Rapids says, not a Sabbath goes by that the sunshine doesn't peak out at least once.

And you know, I paid attention to our Sabbath days ever since she said that a few years ago.

If you look closely, every Sabbath you can see the sun peek through at some point of the day.

And praise the Lord we got some of that this morning.

Well before we get started here today, let's go ahead and have a word of prayer and then we'll get right into our message.

Father, Lord, we thank you for this Sabbath day like we already have already.

Lord, we thank you that we can come together to read from your word, your word that was literally breathed by God.

Father inspired to be written down that we, generations later, can read what you would have us to know and do.

Lord, so many things that we do today on your day are symbolic.

Father, we thank you for your Sabbath, symbol of not only our salvation, but our creation and your promise of your coming.

Lord, we just want to know more and more about you.

And today as we read from your word, may we not know more about the pastor, may we not know more about some doctrine, but Father, may we put in action what we learn more about you.

I'd like you to turn to a scripture verse here with us today in 2 Timothy.

And in 2 Timothy Chapter 1, we find a text that I'm sure is familiar to many of you.

If it's unfamiliar, I would recommend that you memorize it, that you write it down, because there's going to come some point in your life that you will really need this text.

But I'm sure many of you know it already.

Second Timothy chapter 1, we're going to take a look here at verse 7.

I'm sure that you may have used it before, and if you haven't, I would encourage you to underline it and write it down and memorize it.

But 2 Timothy 1.7 says this, For God has not given us the spirit of what?

Of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind." Friends, today that text says something that's a very simplistic message, But it's a message that not only our world, but our church today desperately needs to hear and listen to.

In reality, fear does not come from God, does it?

Fear, worry, and anxiety does not come from God according to the Bible.

Now that being said, we understand that there's a few different types of fear in the Bible, and to not be misunderstood, we know that the Bible tells us that we are to fear God, right?

But in a way that is full of respect and of a deep love for who he is and what he does for us, amen?

That's the kind of fear that God longs for us to love him with.

But the kind of fear that we're talking about today is different.

It's the type of fear that makes your knees knock.

It's the type of fear that keeps you up at night.

It's the anxiety and the worrying that not only plagues us in this room today, but right now more than ever before, at least in my lifetime, there is a lot of fear, not just in our country, but globally.

As we read the Bible and this text that we just read and in other places, we find that part of God's plan does not include fear.

God wants us to not fear, but he wants us in fact to move forward with courage, with power, and knowing that He is in complete control.

You know, often we remind ourselves, I hope anyway, that when we read our texts in the morning, when we do our devotions, when we read prophecy, when we see what God has done in our life, we know and we audibly say that God is in control, don't we?

But it can be tempting and it can be discouraging when we watch the world around us.

It's often tempting to think, yes, God may be in control, but why are all of these things happening?

Well, as we look at this today, I'd like to take you to another text.

And of course we understand and we realize that the God that we serve is a God of love.

Everything that God is, God is synonymous with the word love.

His relationship with you is based on this love.

All of heaven and the angels, They all come around this type of love presented by God.

You know, often it has been so demoted to just a feeling or an expression.

But true love, at least according to the Bible, includes action, doesn't it?

And the love that our God has for us is not a love that is passive, but it's a love that does something.

And notice what it does here in 1 John 4, we're going to read here in verse 17.

It says, Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world.

God wants your love to be made perfect in a relationship with Him.

Which is no surprise, because everything that God touches is perfection.

In Psalms chapter 19 it says that the law of God is perfect because God is perfect.

In Genesis in the creation account when God made the world everything that he created was good and in fact very good.

Everything that God touches is perfect but at the same time the beings that God has created us to be have choice, don't we?

I know that this is a story that is familiar to all of you, but notice what it says here in verse 18 of 1 John 4.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment.

He that fears is not made perfect in love.

If you haven't gotten the point already, I hope that you're getting it now, that God does not want us to be a fearful people.

God does not support fear, but in reality, God wants to cast out fear from all of his creation.

He did not create us to have fear, or anxiety, or worry.

He wanted us to move forward with boldness and confidence.

Because we know without the shadow of a doubt that God is in control.

He's in control of what's happening in our world today, although it may seem like it's falling apart, God is still in control.

In fact, if you go back to the book of Luke with me, we have a couple texts here today.

Luke chapter 21, talking about what takes place right before the second coming of Jesus, we find something that is very familiar to what we're seeing around us today.

Luke chapter 21 and verse 26 talking about the signs of the times.

1 of the keys of the signs of times that will take place right before the second coming of Jesus is this word, fear.

Luke 21-26 says this, men's hearts, failing them for what?

Fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Friends, today, a lot of fear is being advertised no matter where you turn.

You turn on the radio in your car, as long as it's not Strong Tower Radio, right?

You turn on talk show radio, you're going to get fear.

If you turn on CNN or Fox or wherever you get your news, guess what they're selling?

And I'm not even mentioning the virus that's taking place right now.
