Fresh manna fell to the ground as a gift from God while the Israelites were in the wilderness.

It was fresh from the ovens of heaven, baked by the master baker himself.

How the Israelites must have anticipated the taste and smell of each morning's delivery.

Just like the Israelites, you too can experience the taste and smell of fresh manna.

Today you'll be listening to Jacob Gibbs, pastor of the Cedar Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cedar Lake, Michigan.

Father, as we look into this subject of something that was instituted a long time ago, we ask, Lord, that you would put it in our heart right now.

The Lords of the Sabbath, I've been asked, Pastor, is that a typo by multiple people?

Have you ever heard of the Spanish galleon San Jose, the ship called San Jose?

They call it the Holy Grail of sunken ships.

Outside of Colombia, there was a couple of fleets that were traveling, you know, they got the gold from Peru, they're traveling back to Spain, and the British caught wind of the treasure on board and they wanted to not sink the ship, but they wanted to get on the ship and take it over.

But through the exchange of the British trying to swing across and take over the ship, well, as it was happening, they fought back courageously, and while the captain of the San Jose realized that they were doomed, the theory is that he took the gunpowder below deck and blew up the ship because he didn't want to return back to Spain without the gold, the silver, and the emeralds.

And so in 1980 there's a group that said they found it.

In 2015 some Americans used this submarine which is about 4 meters long and it can survey the ocean floor at 6 miles deep.

It ran across the San Jose, and the San Jose had these remarkable cannons, these bronze cannons with sculptured and engraved dolphins on it.

And as they took images, it's about 600 meters deep.

Because just seeing a ship of this caliber is amazing, but it's an estimated 17 to 18 billion dollars in gold, silver, and emeralds.

They know that it most likely had that much because there was a sister ship that made it back to Spain and they had all the inventory there.

Now, if you found that ship, would you tell anybody?

At this time, those, you know, the coordinates where that ship is, the American explorers found it, but then they, because their job is to find things, they told the Columbia government, and nobody else knows about it.

And there are fights and lawsuits going on right now with Spain and Columbia and America got into the lawsuits of who gets this treasure.

As a treasure in the San Jose has been buried in a water grave for many years, so the Sabbath has been buried in forgetfulness and human tradition.

God wants it to be discovered in these last days.

Do you see the Sabbath day as treasure or do you see 18 billion dollars as more of a treasure?

Now if you were all alone and no 1 else heard that answer, what would your answer really be?

If you could choose the Sabbath treasure or 18 billion dollars of gold coins and silver coins and emeralds?

So as the world was newly formed, revisiting that creation week, it must have been pretty spectacular.

You know, creating light when there's only darkness before, and then dividing the air and the water and seeing the bubbly divide take place, and then as he separates the water and the land forms and then the plants grow.

I mean it's just got to be, I mean if you have any kind of imagination and you see these things created perhaps for the first time, maybe he's created other worlds before, most likely yes, but perhaps there are plants here like no other world has seen before.

And the angels above are watching these newly formed plants that they've never seen before.

And then he creates these animals, and then he creates, of course, mankind.

They mastered all the languages of planet Earth in 1 day.

And then they went with their Excel spreadsheet, and they went through and they typed up every name of every animal that was created.

And then they got married and started a family.

And they made their first home all in 1 day.

And I could see on that Friday afternoon, God describing to them what the next day is gonna be like.

Do you think there was any hesitancy for Adam and Eve to want to celebrate Sabbath with the Lord of the Sabbath?

Was there any kind of like, ah, you know, I think I have a better plan?

Do you think there was any thought like that?

Adam and Eve didn't need the manna reminder.

Adam and Eve didn't need a stone tablet engraved by God's finger saying, remember.

Adam and Eve did not need the Nehemiah chapter 13 story.

They had a heart that was willing to appreciate the treasure.

Do we have a heart that's willing to appreciate the treasure?

Of course, this scripture reading that we read in Mark chapter 2 and verse 27, it's as true then as it is true today and it's as true as when Jesus spoke it.

Man was made first and God wanted to do something to benefit mankind.

So he says, hey, hey, before you get started on your real work week, yeah, you had a busy day Friday, I get it, but before you start your really your first week, We're gonna spend time together first.

I'm sure God has a couple other things to do in the universe.

And every seventh day, it's me and you time.

As they looked into nature, they saw the deep things of God's character.

We've only scratched the surface of what nature teaches about God.

We have alternative views that we contend with.

We have textbooks that tell us that God wasn't the creator.

We have to contend with all that minutiae.

But when Adam and Eve were in Eden, They're looking at these plants that were not very old, but very mature.

As they reflected on God's creative work, they reflected on God's character.

The Sabbath in Eden must have been wonderful.

Let's remind ourselves of these precious words.

Never think to yourself, oh, I know these words, because God's word is medicine for our soul.

And every time it's administered, it brings health to our mind.

In Genesis 2, in verse 1-3, thus, the heavens and the earth and all the hosts of them were finished.

And on the seventh day, God ended his work, which he had done and rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.

He wants to spend time with his creation.

So if God's showing us that's how he rests, his relational connection with his creation, I had a conversation just the other day, and most people don't understand spiritual rest.

But God defines rest as spending time with his creation.
