Pastor Doug is out this evening, but this is Bible Answers Live.

1 of the most outstanding flights ever made by any war pigeon took place on October the 18th, 1943.

On the day before the flight, the British 56th Infantry Division had requested air support to assist them in breaking the stubborn German defense lines in the heavily fortified village of Covivecchia in Italy.

However, soon after the message was sent, the British suddenly succeeded in making a surprise breakthrough.

Without warning, the German resistance collapsed and completely, and the English troops quickly overran the little town.

The British quickly realized that this unexpected victory would be disastrous for them unless they could get word through at once to call off the American air support that they had so recently requested.

If not, they would certainly be massacred by US planes as they now occupied the very position that they had asked to have bombed.

It was at this point that they discovered that they could not get word of their danger to the airfield.

All communications had broken down in the hectic advance.

There was no choice now but to rely on to send their urgent message on 1 of the pigeons always kept on hand for just such an emergency.

Joe was the pigeon chosen to carry this life or death message.

Flying swiftly over the battle-torn land, the Pigeon flew the 20 miles back to the U.S.

Air Support Base in 20 minutes, arriving just as the planes were warming up to take off for their mission to Kovivichia.

The successful completion of this historic flight saved the lives of more than a thousand British soldiers.

Army's Hall of Fame in New Jersey, along with 24 other pigeon heroes and was awarded the Medal of Gallantry, the only bird or animal in the United States to receive such an award.

In March of 1957, he was placed with the Detroit Zoological Gardens where he died on June 3, 1961 at the age of 18.

Now did you know, friends, that the Bible also talks about a life-saving message that was carried by 3 angels.

Well stay tuned for more as Amazing Facts brings you this edition of Bible Answers Live.

Well you know Pastor Carlos we introduced the program by talking about G.I.

Joe this pigeon that had this life-and-death message, an urgent mission and it was a timely mission.

He had to get that mission back to the air base to call up the air support.

Now in the Bible we read about an urgent message.

It's also a timely message And it has something to do with the second coming of Christ.

I think that the message you're talking about is the 3 angels message in Revelation chapter 14.

That's right the 3 angels messages of Revelation chapter 14.

You know Revelation 14 is an interesting chapter.

It begins by describing a group of people called 144, 000 and then you have this urgent message, the 3 angels message and then right after the proclamation of the 3 angels messages you have a prophetic picture of the second coming of Christ.

Jesus' picture is coming in the clouds of heaven and he's coming to reap the harvest of the earth.

So the message that just precedes the second coming of Christ is what we call the 3 angels messages.

Now I've got it here in front of me so Let me read at least the first angel.

I don't have time to read all of them, but let me read the first angel's message.

You find that in Revelation chapter 14 verse 6.

This is what it says, and I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those that dwell upon the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him that made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water." So here we find the first angel's message is calling people to worship God as the creator.

It's announcing this judgment hour that is about to begin or has begun.

It's also interesting to note that this message has to go to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people because the second coming of Jesus is going to affect every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.

And then the third angel's message is where we find the most fearful warning anywhere in the Bible.

It says if anyone worships the beast or his image or receives his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God.

Very important warning that we find there in that third angel's message.

You know, we recognize the Bible is God's book.

And if we're going to understand it correctly, we need the spirit to guide us.

Father we thank you again for the blessing and the opportunity to come together and open your word.

We ask a blessing for those that are calling and may you give us discernment and wisdom so that it may be your Bible and your word that answers not a human answer and we may be blessed.

So we ask and beg these things in Jesus name.

All right, Pastor Carlos, who do we have first?

First, we have Martha from Chico, California.

My question is in regards to the 6 seals in Revelation 6.

Now, I'm not sure, because I just started to study this morning, I'm not sure what the first seal, the conqueror, relates to.

But in the others where it talks about conflict and scarcity and widespread death, etc., I'm wondering if these aren't or cannot be applied to what our world is going through today, or if this is something that's still in the future.

In the book of Revelation, we find 3 series of sevens.

We have the 7 churches, we have the 7 seals, and we have the 7 trumpets.

And then later on we read about something called the 7 plagues, and that's a separate item.

But the 7 churches, the 7 seals, and the 7 trumpets, they cover roughly the same time period of Christian history.

From the time of the early church, around 31 AD when Jesus ascended to heaven and the apostles began to preach, all the way through to our time.

You can find that addressed in the series of sevens.

So the 7 churches deal with church history, the 7 seals deal with experiences that God's people go through during the Christian era, and the 7 trumpets deal with wars or judgments that come during that time period.

Specifically, talking about the first seals or the 7 seals, find this in Revelation chapter 6, the first seal describes the first century of Christianity from about 31 AD through to 100 AD.

You'll notice the opening of the first seal describes a rider on a white horse and he's given a crown and he's going forth conquering and to conquer.

It's a symbol of the gospel going forth being preached by Paul and others.

Even 1 of the disciples, Thomas, went all the way to India to preach the gospel.

On August 24th, 1875, Matthew Webb slipped into the water at Dover England and 21 hours and 45 minutes later touched land in France becoming the first person to conquer the English Channel.

Swimming the English Channel became 1 of the greatest swimming challenges of the day.

Since Webb's triumph, more than 470 people have been successful in swimming the English Channel, including a 12-year-old boy in 1979 and a 12-year-old girl in 1983.

The first woman to swim the English Channel was 19 year old American Gertrude Edler.

On the 6th of August 1926 she crossed the English Channel in 14 hours and 31 minutes.

That's 2 hours faster than the man's record, setting a woman's record that stood for the next 35 years.

Then came Alison Streeter, known as the Queen of the channel.

She has swum the channel more times than anyone else, 43 crossings to date.

Streeter first swam the channel at 18, and was the first woman to swim the double, that is from England to France and then back to England, and is the only woman ever to have completed the three-way, that's from England to France, back to England and then to France again.

But possibly the greatest triumph of endurance is held by Benoit Lecombe, who, with the aid of 2 French sailors and a 40-foot sailboat, swam, believe it or not, across the Atlantic Ocean.

On the 16th of July, 1998, he set out from Cape Cod with 8 wetsuits, a snorkel, and some flippers, navigated through the 40th and the 50th latitude and protected by electronic force field, Lecomte swam 6 to 8 hours a day over more than 3, 000 nautical miles of relentless waves.

72 days later on the 28th of September he swam ashore exhausted but heroic in France.

Now did you know friends that the Bible teaches that at the end of time, Christians will also need to have a high degree of endurance?

Not so much physical endurance, but more importantly, spiritual endurance.

You see, the Bible tells us in Matthew chapter 24 verse 11 says at the end of time many false prophets will rise up and deceive many and because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold.

But he that endures to the end shall be saved." To be a Christian in the last days requires endurance.

And The reason for this endurance is because Revelation chapter 12 verse 17, talking of God's people at the end of time, says, and the dragon, that's Satan, was enraged with the woman, that's the church, and he went to make war with the rest or the remnant of her offspring who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus.

So at the end of time, the devil is enraged with the church, the true church, the remnant church and he's making war with those who are keeping God's commandments and have the testimony and the faith of Jesus.

Well, friends, we want to be amongst those that have spiritual endurance in the last days.

How can we now prepare for what is yet to come?

Well 1 of the ways that we can prepare is by filling our minds with the Word of God.

The Word of God is our sure strength and our protection.

Our first caller this evening is Anthony and he's listening from New York.

My question, well let me just briefly explain.

This, I think it was last week, after church I got into a conversation with a gentleman that was there visiting and he just had some questions and also some ideas that differed widely from what I believe.

But I've been studying to make sure I understand different doctrines that I believe.

And, so I, the topic about the divinity of Christ came up and I thought I was well prepared.

I went through Hebrews chapter 1 and John chapter 1, verse 1, and, and things like that.

And then I used, Isaiah chapter 9, verse 6.

And that's the basis of my question and it says right here I just had it up For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God.

And I kind of paused there for emphasis to show that this was talking about Jesus Christ, the prophecy of Christ, and he's called mighty God.

And he said, ah, but what about the next part where it says the everlasting father?

He's like, well, that kind of defeats your point where you say that the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, they're 3 separate beings.

By him calling the Son the Father, that defeats your point.

And so he's like, so he thinks that it's more symbolic rather than that this prophecy is symbolic rather than proving the divinity of Christ.

So I guess my question is, why does this prophecy call Jesus Christ the Son, why does it also call him the everlasting Father?

Yes, the verse that you're talking about for those who may be driving in their car, Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6 and many recognize this as a Messianic prophecy.

Several things, First of all it does mention here that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and we know that when Christ came to the earth it was through his sacrifice that he made peace between the sinner and the father, between God and man.

He is the intercessor so we know that refers to him.

He is also referred to as the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, so there's a reference to Christ being divine, but the phrase everlasting father, why is that phrase used?

Well because especially before the incarnation of Christ along with the Father is the source of life.

John Chapter 1 verse 1, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God.

All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made.

So Jesus is actively involved in creation and seeing that he's actively involved in creation he's the father of all creation.

And so when it's referring to Christ as the everlasting Father, not only was the Father, the Heavenly Father that we think of today, involved in creation, but Christ was also involved in the creation of earth.

And then of course when Jesus came to the earth and he was born here on this earth, he recognized that his Father in Heaven was God and of course we have the Holy Spirit and Jesus baptized.

You have the Father in Heaven, you have the Holy Spirit coming upon him, Jesus is in the water being baptized, Christ prayed to his Father in heaven, as we need to pray, but the fact that he's also referred to as the Heavenly Father indicates that he is the Creator, he's the source of life.

And that, of course, is the same with God the Father that we think of today in heaven.

And I'll wait till next week, because I know I can only ask 1 question.

But this past Sabbath someone preached a sermon where they proved that Jesus was divine, but they said that the Holy Spirit is not a separate person.

How Long is Your Forever?

Now, Here's your host from Amazing Facts International, Pastor Doug Batchelor.

On June 23rd, 2022, Amazon revealed an experimental Alexa feature that allows the AI assistant to mimic the voices of the user's dead relatives.

The company demonstrated the feature at its annual Mars conference, showing a video in which a child is seen asking Alexa to read The Wizard of Oz and then you hear a unique voice we later learn is his deceased grandmother reading the book to him with a natural warmth and inflection.

Amazon said its AI systems can learn to imitate someone's voice from just a single minute of recorded audio.

In an age of abundant videos and voice notes, this means it's well within the average consumer's reach to clone the voices of deceased parents, spouses, or friends to create new messages.

I can understand people wanting to remember their loved ones, Pastor Ross, but this could get a little creepy because I think people already think that the dead are communicating with them.

It's interesting, you know, when you get a phone call and you answer the phone, you could for the most part tell who's calling you by the sound of their voice, especially somebody you know well.

You don't have to ask or look at the call ID to see who this is.

We connect the sound of a person's voice with who they are, their personality.

And you know, it's not a new thing, but even the Bible speaks of people wanting to communicate with a dead loved 1.

Now maybe they want to see the person but for sure they want to hear this dead loved 1 communicate to them.

That's not only something we find in the Bible but I think most of our listeners know that there is just an increased interest in communicating with the dead.

Yeah, and the Bible forgives, or forbids rather, what it calls necromancy, or trying to medium someone who tries to communicate with the dead.

And you can read in Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 5, so the living know that they'll die, but the dead do not know anything.

And so, and you can read here, there it is on the screen for those watching the TV program, neither have they any more a reward for the memory of them is forgotten.

And verse 6 goes on to say, For their love, their hatred, their envy is now perished, neither have they any more apportioned forever in anything that is done under the sun.

Now, where a lot of people get confused, We know that when a believer dies, their next conscious thought is the resurrection and the presence of the Lord.

But that doesn't happen till the coming of the Lord.

But the dead haven't gone to heaven until there's a resurrection.

So this idea that we can communicate with the dead is a great fallacy, and I'm surprised how many Christians believe that they're getting messages from the dead, and this is spiritism really.

Now somebody might be wondering, well, what's the big deal?

So what if you think your dead loved 1 is speaking to you?

Well, we do know that the Bible tells us that at the end of time, the devil is going to do everything he can to deceive.

And 1 of the deceptions of the devil is going to be impersonating dead loved ones to lead people astray.

The Bible says that the devil is able to perform signs and wonders and especially at the end of time there are these evil spirits that are going around the world and they're trying to deceive people.

So if a dead loved 1 shows up and they're communicating something and they say, Oh, this is, you know, a message from heaven.

And if a person doesn't understand what happens when a person really dies, well, they setting themselves up for deception.

And especially if something is going to contradict what you find in the Bible, it's dangerous.
