Okay, the message is how to prepare your church for the latter rain.

How to prepare your church for the latter rain.

So lately, the Lord has been really, really impressing me as to the importance of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is a very, very important topic and we're told through inspiration that we don't have Him because we don't appreciate Him, we don't talk about Him, and we don't pray about Him or for him.

And so I'd like to discuss that and we're going to talk about how to prepare your church for the latter rain.

It's only 3 verses long and it is a prophetic psalm, which means it's referring to something that's going to happen in the future.

If you have your Bibles, I hope you do, please turn with me to Psalms number 133.

Now remember, this psalm is actually a prophecy.

Notice what it says, Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard, and went down to the skirts of his garments, as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion.

For there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore." So that's it.

Verse 1, did verse 1 say it's good for brethren to dwell together?

You know, have you ever been in an environment or a situation where it was not a blessing to dwell together because there was not unity?

There was lots of contention, lots of division.

It's not a blessing to be in those environments.

But the Bible says it is a blessing, it is good, it is sweet, when brethren dwell together in unity.

And then look at verses 2 & 3 it is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard even Aaron's beard and went down to the skirts of his garments." So that's really interesting.

How did we go from talking about church brethren being in unity and now we're talking about Aaron being anointed.

Doesn't that seem like 2 separate topics?

The Bible will invert, in this verse it'll talk about this topic and in this verse it'll jump to a completely different topic.

And you're like, how did we get from here to there?

Now, you have to ask yourself the question, is God a really poor communicator?

Or is there something deeper here that we're not picking up on?

You know, I've had the Opportunity, I don't know if I should say it that way I've studied the Bible with several drunk people before And I do not those are the Bible studies.

I enjoy the least it is I've got to the point where I was studying with 1 person who has a problem with alcohol and I've just said if you're drunk I'm not coming over.

I'm not doing Bible studies with you because they're totally fruitless Bible studies.

You'll be on 1 topic And then they will turn around and talk about something completely different.

You'll be talking about, you know, Jesus on the cross, and they'll start saying, You know what?

I was doing my laundry the other day, and the pink socks got in with the...

And you're like, how did we start talking?

And after like an hour of that, you get really tired of that, after about an hour of that, of trying to share truth with someone and their mind is just, they can't control their mind, it's all over the place.

He's talking about this and all now I'm going to talk about this and you know like a popcorn brain just no they're connected.

So what does brethren dwelling in together in unity have to do with oil going over Aaron's head and then pouring down and then after that verse 3 it's as the dew of Hermon and the dew that descended upon Mount Zion for there the Lord commanded his blessing.

So how did we go from talking about brother in unity to Aaron being anointed and then Dew coming on Mount Zion.

And what we want to see is that there is a systematic flow here.

The precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard.

Let me ask you, who is Aaron in the Bible?

Alright, he was Moses' brother and he had what office?

Now when the high priest started their office, when it was time for a new high priest to come to their office, who knows what they would do to that high priest?

They would anoint the high priest with oil.

You could read about it in Exodus chapter 30.

And we know that there is symbolism connected with oil.

Who knows, in scripture, what is oil a symbol or type of?

That's right, based on Zechariah chapter 4, oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit for many many reasons.

And so when the high priest would get anointed, they would literally get a like a bottle of oil, they'll pour over his head, and they would pour a lot of oil based on the psalm, Because it would run down and it would go all the way down to the very edge of the skirt of his garment.

And that was a symbol that this person is consecrated to the Holy Spirit and the service of God.

And that's what would happen with the high priest.

It said, And as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion, for there the Lord commanded his blessing." So what is dew?

Do we find water being a symbol for something also in Scripture?

Water is also a symbol for the Holy Spirit.

And we also, for instance, we're told we need to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and there's several instances of this.

There's a very important city on Mount Zion, Jerusalem.

And that Mount Zion and Jerusalem was also a symbol for something else.

It says, I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of my hand, that I might plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of earth, and say unto Zion, notice thou art my what?

So what is Zion a symbol of in Scripture?

So when we see dew, moisture, descending upon Mount Zion, it is a type of the Holy Spirit descending upon His Church.

Let's notice the symbolism that we can derive from this.

In verse 1, we have brethren dwelling together in unity.

In verse 2, we have the high priest being anointed with so much oil, it comes and it runs down and goes off of his garment.

And in verse 3, we have water coming down on Mount Zion, which is the church.
