Bible Work - Part 4

Alright, well let's dive in because we don't have much time and I want to really, this is the most important part I think.

We're supposed to be there at 430 to help.

Like call to sign up things like for greeting.

You can be there at, that's, I made those signs.

So if we were with me, you're okay, alright?

So maybe we'll quit about 10 till, does that work for you guys?

Alright, 10 till will work, this is great, I'm excited.

Alright, now, again, I just want to reemphasize that you're probably sitting there saying, he's flying through this stuff, and there's a lot of questions I have, but, you know, he's not covering everything.

Is there people that can share and then I can give you this 1 at the end?

Okay so, so I think that, She's not coming back?

So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go through this Bible study.

I'm gonna show you how to add things to this to make your Bible study more full.

So let's pray together and then we'll take a look at it.

Father in heaven, we thank you once again that we could come and we ask your blessing to be with us in Christ's name, amen.

1 thing I wanted to mention to you that I forgot was, your name 1 more time brother?

William asked me the question, what if people say yes to do the Bible study, but then I keep chasing them down and I can't get them to actually do it.

They say yes, but then they're not committing afterwards.

If that happens to you a few times, what I often do is I really pray about it and I say, Lord, if you don't want me, if this person is not ready to study yet, then somehow end it.

Or, you know, in other words, break it off so I don't keep wasting my time with them, okay?

And there have been many times when I have prayed that prayer and I go to that person's house and they actually say to me, you know what, I really appreciate your efforts but now is just not the best time for me, right?

And so they actually cut it off many times.

If they don't do that then I say, you know what, I say listen, I really want to study the Bible with you, I really do.

But what I'm finding is that it's very difficult for you.

It seems like every time we set a time you're not there or you're not, you know, following through.

Because if it's not, you don't have to keep telling me yes to keep from hurting my feelings.

You're not gonna hurt my feelings by telling me no.

Because there are lots of other people out there that do want to study, and I really want to study with them, and I want to study with you if you want to, but if it's not a good time, then just let me know.

You know, I wanted to, I had good intentions, but life is busy and I just can't right now.

And you're right, I'm being unfair to you, so let's just end it, okay?

Some people say, you know, I really do wanna study.

I realize, this is something, I said, then you know, you gotta make this a priority, because this is the most important thing that you could be doing with your life right now.

So some people will snap to, some people will just cut it loose, and then that frees your time to find somebody that really does want to.

All right, we're going to move into our last section now, and we're gonna talk about how to write Bible studies.

Now, there are 2 methods of giving Bible studies.

There's what's called the review method and the presenter method.

Now, in the review method, the review method is where I give them the Bible study ahead of time.

They work through it on their own, and then the next week or whenever, you go back to their house, and guess what you do?

You review the Bible study that they went through.

Would it be, tell me some of the benefits of the review method.

If someone already knows about it, then it's not too boring.

Okay, so like, in other words, they're already familiar with that subject, right?

And they may have a list of questions ready for you when you come, and since they're already familiar with it, there are some things that you don't necessarily always have to cover, does that make sense?

Did you have another 1, or is that what you were gonna say?

Okay, repetition, right, repetition, we have the saying that we use at AFCO, it's called repetition deepens Impression, also expression deepens impression.

So the more times you repeat it with them, the more they're likely to get it.

It gets them into the practice of studying the Bible?

Yes, it gets them into the practice of studying their own Bible, okay?

What I typically do is I encourage people, if they can't sit down and do it all at once, I encourage them to do about 10 or 15 minutes a day.

And that way they're doing, they're getting in the habit of daily devotions, right?
