Repairing the Breach Caused by the Doctrines of Devils

01 The Horrors of Hell

And yeah, praise the Lord, we still see folks coming in.

Loving Lord, we wanna thank you for this opportunity to come together and to study your word and understand better where we are in the world today and how to better live and represent you.

I pray Lord that you'll bless this meeting with your presence, the things we hear and learn will make a lasting difference in our lives and we thank you and ask this in Jesus name, amen.

All right, first the theme for our conference is break forth and that comes from who knows what chapter?

Isaiah chapter 58 and you'll read here in well you know let's see you go down to verse 8 says, if we follow the fast that God has chosen, then your light will break forth like the morning, and your healing will spring forth speedily.

We're going to talk about healing a little bit.

Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer.

You will cry, and He will say, Here I am.

If you take away from you the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will dawn in the darkness and your darkness will be like the noonday, and the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones, and you will be like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

Those from among you will build the old waste places, and you will raise up the foundation of many generations." So places that were once flourishing that are waste will be built up, they'll be raised up.

It says, you'll raise the foundations, foundations that have been neglected generations ago will be restored.

You will be called the repairer of the breach, " talking about a broken wall, and the restorer of streets to dwell in.

Then he says, if you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your pleasure in my holy day, all right, and we'll be talking about the Sabbath.

So we are talking about 4 teachings today that have become a breach in the wall of Christianity that will be a central problem in the last days.

We have a special mission to restore these things, to understand them.

You'll understand as we proceed and we're going to be talking about the horrors of hell.

We'll be talking about the Sabbath and Sunday.

We'll be talking about healing and health.

Tomorrow we're just dedicating the time to questions and answers on these subjects.

So that's what we're gonna be dealing with and I'd like to start by just reading you a quote from the book Great Controversy that I think helps explain this.

Through the 2 great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions, while the former lays a foundation for spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome.

The Protestants of the United States will be foremost in stretching their hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of spiritualism.

They will reach over the abyss to clasp the hands with the Roman power, and under the influence of this threefold union, this country will follow in the steps of Rome and trampling on the rights of conscience that will ultimately unfold into the beast and the mark of the beast, compelling people, telling them how they should worship.

And I see that we're on the cusp of those things right now.

Let me tell you what I'm going to tell you, then I'll tell you, then I'll tell you what it is I told you.

I did not come from a Christian Seventh-day Adventist background.

And I came from a pagan background, you know.

My parents did send me to a couple of schools, a couple of Christian schools.

And in the 2 Catholic schools I went to, they basically said, you know, If you're good and you die, you may go through purgatory, but you'll go to heaven.

And if you're bad and you die, you go to hell.

And in hell you are cast into a molten lake of fire and brimstone, where you burn and you cannot die, and you feel the burning flame, not for a minute or 2, but forever and ever and ever.

Now, I just, that to me was incomprehensible because I thought, well, you're telling me that everybody that is born is born with this normal propensity to sin, right?

We all sin, we're kind of born with that leaning.

And then the God who created us, and in my view, I says He created us where we've got these desires to sin.

We sin and then He says, if you do what I created you with a desire to do, I'm going to torture you forever, unless you love me.

So in other words, love me or I'm going to burn you forever.

That sounded like kind of an abusive relationship.

And so I didn't like God, and I turned away from God.

Because of this misunderstanding, this doctrine drives so many people away from God.

You heard me last night maybe where I was announcing the subject.

But his family abandoned Judaism because they were being persecuted.

And Karl Marx heard this teaching about hell.

And the result of all that is he went to these schools where he learned philosophy and you have communism and atheism.

Because of that teaching about hell, false teaching.

He could not reconcile the idea of a loving God with a God that would torture the objects of his creation for all eternity.

And you know, it does sort of assault your logic.

He turned away from God, said, if God didn't create, then there has to be another explanation for how things came to being, and you get Darwinism and evolution.

Robert Ingersoll and even Mark Twain, who just became a humorous but a large cynic.

His brother died in a boating accident from a fire.

Mark Twain was with him when he died from his burns.

And he thought, he's going to now die lost and go to hell and burn forever and ever.

And he just said, tore him up and he turned away from God.

This is a doctrine of devils that comes from Greek mythology about this god named Pluto that would torture people in Hades for endless ages for the sins of 1 lifetime.

All right, well I'm gonna go to, I've got a lot to cover, and I'm gonna go to a little Bible study on this.

You're invited to take notes because I'm just gonna show you on the screen.

Somebody is bringing a box with some books, and hopefully before the end of the presentation, I will have some material to give everybody, if we have enough for everybody.

All right, first of all, a presentation called The Horrors of Hell.

The best way to understand this theology is to look at the stories.

The Bible says that Lot and Abraham disagreed about, you know, could they live together, they had too much cattle and Abraham said, decide where you want to go.

Lot lifted up his eyes towards the valley of Sodom.

Back then was like the Garden of Eden, the Bible says.

But he wasn't thinking about the moral state of where he was moving.

So he moved and he cast his tent towards Sodom, but before too long he was living in the city.

Started out in the suburbs, ended up in the city, surrounded by the wickedness there, and the Bible says the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked.

Finally, the angels came and said, you gotta get out because God's gonna destroy this place.

And Lot lingered until finally these 2 angels took he and his wife and his 2 daughters by the hand, led them out of the city and told them to flee, lest you be consumed.

And it says, the Lord rained fire and brimstone down on Sodom and Gomorrah out of the heavens, and they were devoured.

Abraham looked towards the valley where Sodom and Gomorrah were and it says, he looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah and behold the smoke went up of the land, it was like the smoke of a furnace.

This tremendous fire had come up from the area where these there's actually 4 cities, Sodom and Gomorrah being the principal ones.

And while God had saved Lot and his wife and daughters from Sodom, Sodom was still inside them and His wife looked back.

Who knows what the shortest verse is in the Bible?

02 Distortions about Death

Are there some of you who were not here in the first session?

This is the second in a four-part series, and I know it's impossible with all these good seminars to take them all in, but they are recording this.

In the first session I talked about the horrors of hell and how that is a doctrine of devils.

We're talking now about the subject of death, distortions about death.

And the reason for this, and I just want to review why this is important, is there are 2 areas that are gonna be a primary concern in the last days.

I'll have prayer in a minute, but I know folks are still coming in.

Through the 2 great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions.

Spiritualism, the idea that you can communicate with the dead is going to be rife, it already is, in our culture.

And so we need to understand what does the Bible teach about this.

So let's have prayer and I'll explain why this is so important.

Loving Father in heaven, we pray that you would just be present.

I pray that you will send the Holy Spirit, that you will give us ears to hear, help us to understand the truth of the scripture and why the truth is so important and how it liberates.

I pray also, Lord, that you'll be with me as I share and that the scriptures will be made plain and that you'll be glorified.

All right, I'm going to get right into this.

It's hard to do that quietly with a microphone on.

In the book of Revelation, you got your Bibles?

There's a word that's only found 1 place in the Bible.

The Only place you'll find red letter addition in this section of Revelation.

Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments lest they walk naked and see his shame.

And they gathered them together into a place called in Hebrew Armageddon.

Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates." How many of you have been hearing about the river Euphrates lately?

It's 1 of the most searched subjects on the internet right now.

And its water was dried up, So the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

And I saw 3 unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

For they are the spirits of demons, devils, performing signs, miracles, which go out to the kings of the earth, devils that go to the kings of the earth to prepare them for battle.

Revelation is referring back to An event in the Bible.

Out of the 404 verses in Revelation, 278 are found somewhere else in the Bible.

So when it's talking about Armageddon here and these demons performing signs that gather the kings of the world together to battle, and it is a terrible battle in which they perish.

Let's find the story in the Bible that this is referencing.

You ever wonder if a person could be saved and then be lost?

God gave him victory, but as time went by, he became proud, began to not appreciate the Lord, eventually rebelled against the Lord, got so bad he tried to kill David, and he killed the priests of the Lord.

So Saul had grieved away the Holy Spirit.

And the Bible tells us that he then got into this horrific battle with the Philistines.

All the Philistines are gathered, the big army.

See, David and the mighty men had been chased away and they were some of the best fighters.

He tells what's left of 1 of the priests.

And the priest said, God has no word for you.

He asked the local prophets any word from the Lord.

Says, the Lord would not speak to him through priest or prophet, Urim or Thummim.

To prove he'd grieved away the Holy Spirit, he said, get me a witch.

So they find that, well, there is still 1 witch that had not been killed off during the purge when you were still following the Lord.

They'd purge the witches out of the land.

You remember that Samuel the prophet said that because you've rebelled against the Lord, God's found another king to take your place.

So Saul said to his servants, find me a woman who is a medium that I might go and inquire of her.

And Saul disguised himself because witches were not allowed.

And he said, I wanna talk to Samuel the prophet.

She said, who do you want me to conjure up for you?

And so she went through her spells and incantations and whatever it is she did, and this apparition appears that supposedly speaks and pretends to be Samuel the prophet.

God had clearly commanded his people never to consult a witch or a medium.

Leviticus 19.31 is amazing in our society.

How many people talk about being witches and wizards and quick story.

I've got an attention deficit disorder so I, These things come to me.

And so we're taking an Uber to the airport because we had no other way.

This guy picks us up and as we're driving to the airport, he says, he's friendly, and he says, so what do you do?

I say, well, I'm a pastor, I'm in the front seat with him, Karen's in the back with our bags.

Or maybe he said I'm a wizard, no difference.

And I looked up in the rear view mirror, I could see Karen's face.

He's looking out the back, but I could see her face in the mirror.

And the odd thing was, he starts telling us about, yeah, I'm a witch, you know, and I wanted the power.

03 Certainty of the Sabbath

Got a lot to cover, so we're going to start on time.

And I Work with amazing facts and also pastor the Granite Bay Hilltop Church.

Some of you maybe have seen it online before.

This is the third presentation in the series we're doing, talking about restoring the breach.

This is the third out of, well, fifth 1 is questions and answers tomorrow.

Following this 1, we'll have section 4, talking about health.

And now we're gonna be talking about the certainty of the Sabbath.

And before I dive in, I'd like to just have a word of prayer with you, if you could bow your heads please.

Loving Lord, we want to thank you for your goodness and blessings and just ask Lord that you be with us as we talk about this very important, very relevant subject for the time we're living in.

I pray that you just give us ears to hear, help our minds to be clear and alert, that the Holy Spirit will take the truth and bring it down home in our hearts.

And I pray, Lord, that you'll be with the 1 who is to speak, give my voice strength and clarity, as well as my mind.

And just thank you and pray this in Christ's name.

Now I'm going to do something I don't often get to do, and I hope you'll indulge me.

I'm going to wear my hat while I'm teaching.

And they're not, this is audio recording, it's not on video unless you pull out your camera.

So if you don't say anything, I won't say anything.

But I don't wanna get a cold and sometimes my head gets cold.

So we are talking about restoring the breach that has been made.

You may have been here earlier, but I'd like to go to Isaiah 58.

This chapter has several warnings, encouragements, and promises in it.

And then the right kind of fast, and it says, and if you do the right kind of fast, you read in verse 8, then your light will break forth like the morning, your healing will spring forth speedily, your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

Then you will call and the Lord will answer.

Then He says, If, and you do these things, you start with verse 9.

It says, Then what I'll do, and He tells you what the promises are.

Your light shall dawn, in the end of verse 10, it says, your light will dawn in the darkness, your darkness will be as the noonday, the Lord will guide you continually.

As you look at these things, how many of you would like to have this?

Your light will dawn in the darkness, and your darkness will be as the noonday.

The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones, and you'll be like a watered garden in a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

Those from among you shall build the old waste places.

People in the last days, those who are among you, will build up the old waste places.

You'll raise the foundation of many generations.

You will be called the repairer of the breach.

If 1 city attacks another city, they would have walls that protect them.

And they try to make a breach in the wall so they can enter the city.

So this is, the enemy's been coming in, restoring the breach in the wall.

It says, you'll be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in, if you turn, verse 13, if you turn away your foot from the Sabbath from doing your pleasure on my holy day.

You ever heard someone say that Sunday is the Lord's day?

The holy day of the Lord, honorable, and we'll honor him, not doing your own ways or finding your own pleasure or speaking your own words, then you will delight, " he says, if you do this, then you will delight yourself in the Lord.

I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth.

I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it." Wonderful promises.

What does it specifically mention as the repair of the breach and restore of paths?

It says, if you turn away your foot from the Sabbath.

What that means is your foot, in Bible times, it's talking about you step on something and you trample something that is sacred.

You put it under foot instead of in an elevated position.

And it's saying that the Sabbath, now who's he talking to?

Is he talking to the pagans or is he talking to the church?

Talking to God's people that are trampling on the Sabbath.

Now, let me just tell you how history sort of works.

Is every now and then, a revival movement will come along, people will get stirred up, they'll turn back to the Lord, they'll turn back to the Bible, they'll be moved by the Holy Spirit, they'll consecrate themselves, they turn away from sin, you get this big revival movement.

Happened with the Protestant Reformation.

And Martin Luther, The people got back to the word.

And then they start a church and they name it after their founder, Martin Luther.

And then Luther dies and the next generation comes.

And they're not quite as revived as the first 1.

They've sort of lost the vision a little bit, but they sort of got some of it from their parents.

By the time you get to the fourth generation, it sort of becomes like a custom and a social ritual, But they've lost the fire.

They don't understand what drove their forefathers.

Today, if you go to the average Lutheran church, no.

If Martin Luther went to the average Lutheran church today, he wouldn't recognize it.

The idea that there would be Lutherans that believe in same-sex marriage and homosexual ministers, Luther, he wouldn't be able to comprehend that.

So then you get John Wesley comes along and He has a revival, he had a godly mother.

Get back to the Bible, real conversion, teaching the gospel.
