The Difference

Father in heaven, I want to thank you so much that we've been gathered here.

It's such a blessing just to see all these happy and joyful faces.

And I want to pray and we're trusting that your word can do something for us today.

We thank you so much for the promise that your spirit will guide us into truth.

As we dive a little into it, I just pray that you'll give us the boldness to think, the boldness to accept some things maybe that we don't know, but also the humbleness just to accept that you care for us.

And yeah, we thank you for that in Jesus' name, amen.

I was saying to Ben and Esther yesterday, who picked me up, you have, it's been an Esther, right?

I was saying to Ben and Esther, You have no idea.

This is my, not my house because there's no house, but this is my garden.

Yeah this is my, so we, this is just, what was this?

This was in the north of Norway, in December, the sun never rises.

So like, this is a day before the sun came above the horizon.

You can see it just there, but it hasn't quite come yet, right?

How many people want to live where I live?

Anyway, greetings from the north of Norway.

I come from a church that has, on average, 15 to 20 people.

Me and my wife are the only young adults there, right?

And so when I was just looking in the crowd, I was like, are you serious?

You guys have been already, just by your smiles, have been such a blessing to me.

People ask me, while you live in Norway, do you speak the language?

And they're like, whoa, that sounds difficult.

I've learned that tasks are good to introduce the topic for today.

Don't worry, I'm gonna help you out here.

But as you can see, maybe, maybe you don't see, maybe you see them, they don't match.

Endrem is not Nebuchadnezzar, do you see that?

So I want you in the next 2 minutes, I'm gonna give you 2 minutes, speak to the person next to you, try and match the Norwegian with the English.

Let's try and give you some answers here.

So let's start with this 1 and you guys can say it after me if you wish, right?

Do you know what, do you know how to say happy Sabbath in Norwegian?

Now this is a clue to what we'll be looking at today.

We're going to be looking at endrem, or a dream.

The difference, Daniel, and this understanding of everlasting or eternity, right?

I was sharing yesterday that I am studying the book of Daniel.

I've grown up in the Adventist Church, grown up Christian, and the book of Daniel has been something I've heard about, but never really, let me be honest with you, I've never dared to look at it in myself.

Because it's kind of like, I see all the other preachers preaching about it, and I'm like, man, what if I look in it and don't find the same thing you know I mean so I've been scared but you know God is good and he's given me the courage just to be open it for myself and try and start reading it so today we're gonna look at what chapter?

Daniel chapter 2 So if you open your Bibles with me, Daniel chapter 2 and today we're going to look at the difference.

I just want to share with you quite simply some reflections I have after reading Daniel chapter 2.
