We want to welcome you and thank you for the special music.

It's been a pleasure to see you each evening.

Let's bow our heads for a word of prayer.

I thank you for this Sabbath that we've been able to come away and just Enjoy the fellowship and the blessing of the season, of this crispness in the air and the colors, the simple pleasures that you have given us from the artist and creator's hand.

Lord, as we bow before you this evening, We ask that you would give us a message from on high, that you would speak to our hearts, that we would find words of strength and encouragement as we begin a new week.

Okay, so this morning we looked at Daniel chapter 11 verses 40 to 45.

And I just want to briefly review that with you and touch on the text that I failed to get to and I want to take that to you and then we want to go to Revelation, and then I'd like to close up with a comparison between Daniel and Revelation, okay?

That's our map for tonight, so let's go to Daniel chapter 11.

Now, like I said this morning, Daniel 11 is considered by many a difficult passage.

And with Daniel 11 verses 40 to 45, some just don't want to touch it.

I remember being in university here when I was back in 98, 99, somewhere in there, and we went through pretty much the whole of the Daniel class.

And the professor at the time, class said, so what are we going to get to chapters 10 to 11, or 10 to 12?

We kept going through and going through and got to the last week.

And we went through some of the class, and then right there in the last 20 minutes, maybe, laid out 3 different papers or 3 different whatever they were.

It said, there's disagreement on the answer here.

And so that's what we learned about Daniel 10 to 11, 10 to 12.

Just say that just to say that there's not unanimous opinion on some of these verses.

I wanna share with you what I have found in listening to those who've gone before and this is what I think makes the most sense, okay?

At the time of the end, the king of the south shall attack him, and the king of the north shall come against him.

When you look at Israel, the south of Egypt, I mean, the south of Israel was Egypt.

Egypt, if you look at the story of Pharaoh and so forth, was known for having other gods, was known for not even recognizing that there is a God in heaven.

So what I'm trying to tell you is that Egypt stands for atheism.

Egypt stands for sort of this agnostic, atheistic type view of the world.

And it says that the king of the south would attack the king of the north and then the king of the north would come back at him as a whirlwind.

Now I want to ask you, is the king of the south or the king of the north?

And I need to tell you the king of the north is the, well, when you look at the king of the north in Daniel's day, it would have been Babylon, right?

King of the north would have been Babylon.

So if Babylon is the king of the north, we would see that as being figurative of the papacy, right?

We would see that the papal power, and of course we see the 3 frogs there in Daniel, Revelation 17, so we have this papal system, and, or this threefold system, I should say, Protestants that no longer protest, apostate Protestantism, Spiritualism, and the Papacy.

So, I wanna ask you, is the King of the South or the King of the North in power today?

Does the King of the North have worldwide sway today?

Is all the world wandering after the beast?

No, so the King of the South is in power.

We still have plenty of atheists in the world today, or at least professed atheists.

We still have plenty of people who deny Christ, whether Hindu or Buddhist or what have you.

We still have the King of the South reigning.

And of course, when did the King of the South attack the King of the North?

1798, Berthier marches in and takes the Pope captive.

So the king of the south attacked the king of the north.

We're still living in the king of the south, which tells us that everything after the first part of verse 40 is yet to come, is yet to come.

Now, notice as it unfolds, the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships.

And he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through.

We noted, especially when you compare this with Revelation 13, that the chariots, of course, are reminiscent of the angels.

We see the horsemen reminiscent of the armies of heaven.

And so we see here the king of the south will 1 day be defeated because as Satan comes as a whirlwind, as Satan comes as the false Christ, he will be the catalyst that unites the papacy, the apostate Protestants, and spiritualism all under 1 umbrella.

He will unite the world so that when they see Christ, whether you're an atheist, whether you're a Muslim, whatever persuasion you may be, when you see Christ and His host of angels, and you see the dead risen, so to speak, in their demonic form, you will be persuaded, if you don't know Jesus, you will be persuaded that He has come and all the world will wander after the beast." So the picture we have in Revelation, that's what we see here.

And we see, of course, in Ezekiel chapter 1, in Job, and elsewhere, that a whirlwind is compared to the coming of God.

When the people are praying, when the people want an answer, God often appeared in a whirlwind.

And so Satan will hear their cries, and he will come as the false Christ to solve their problems, even though he was the cause of them.

Verse 41, he shall enter the glorious land and many countries shall be overthrown, but these shall escape from his hand, Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.

And so it will be that While Satan is the false Christ, he will take the world by storm.

As Spirit of Prophecy tells us, Satan in his form of an angel of light will go around to the various countries, you could call it his world tour, and in that realm he will persuade all the nations, he will bring them all under his spell, and all the world, as Revelation 18 verse 2 tells us, will be a habitation for demons and spirits.

This will be the time in which he is doing this, and yet, Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon will escape.

Well, again, if you look at Revelation 18, there will be those who come out of Babylon in the midst of this harrowing time, because they said yes to God with all their known choices, they will say yes to God when they learn that indeed this comes down to whether you will obey God, including his seventh-day Sabbath or you won't.

And just because they didn't know, didn't mean they wouldn't do it.

When they learn to hear the call, they say yes, because they are in the habit of saying yes to God with all their known choices.

And then verse 42, he will stretch out his hand against the countries and the land of Egypt shall not escape." Again, a worldwide sweep.

Verse 43, he shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver and all the precious things of Egypt.

Also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels.

And so it is that indeed, as Revelation 13 tells us, it will be made so that no 1 will be able to buy or sell, save he who has the mark of the beast.

And so we see that indeed, as the king of the north is described here, he will have power over the treasures of gold and silver.

And just like we see in history with the Libyans and the Ethiopians coming to the rescue, they will fall at his heels.

Notice verse 44, but news from the east and from the north shall trouble him.

Therefore he should go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate them.

Well, we saw in Revelation chapter 7 and verse 2 that this angel from the east will be the 1 who comes to seal the servants of God in their foreheads.

This angel from the east is representative of the angel who comes from heaven to seal God's servants.

And then, of course, the message from the north is nothing else but the 3 angels' messages.
