The First Angels’ Message and Health

Well, let's just have an added word of prayer.

Father in heaven, bless us today as we open your word.

And thank you for protecting your word through all these years.

And we don't appreciate maybe that as much as we should.

So we don't want to neglect your word today, so keep us alert to your word.

All right, does anybody have any idea what this means?

Some of you are going, what in the world is that?

You know, sometimes I look at logos and I go, that makes absolutely no sense without an explanation.

How many think a logo should make sense without an explanation?

I mean, I've been to churches sometimes, and it looks like there's 3 bugs on the outside of the church.

And I was going to give you some more hints.

But some of these angels, you don't know exactly what they are when you just look at them.

And sometimes people don't know about the 3 Angels messages and they don't know what they are and they never even look at them and maybe the logos that we have don't help them even know what they are.

The church that I pastored before I came here, we called the church the 3 Angels Church.

And I'm happy that 1 of the little girls was watching as they put up the sign, because they put up the sign, and then they put up the language.

And the little fifth grader goes, no, that's not angles.

I didn't even see it, because I'm semi-dyslexic and challenged.

And I was like, Man, that saved us thousands of dollars.

And sometimes it's the young people that are paying more attention than we are, amen.

Several years ago, what was it that the children's story said?

This is going back a little further than that.

I know that seems like a long time ago, but thank you for making those of us who feel old confirm that.

Back actually in the 1970s, I know that doesn't seem like a long time ago to some of you as well, I had a friend and his name was Randall Jenick and he, might have been his brother Kendall, but 1 of them needed glasses.

And they looked like this in class, although we didn't have computers back then.

And I said, why are you squinting all the time?

And he goes, well, I probably need glasses.

He goes, well, I don't know if we can afford them as mother Single mom so I talked to the pastor and the pastor's wife About it.

It's have to be my dad and mother And next week they took up a collection.

And I remember he had those glasses and he came back, oh man, Don, look at the leaves!

You know, and he just all week, I can't believe you guys have seen this all the time.

And you know, that's what I hope happens today when we look a little closer at the first angel's message.

Because really, the closer we look at these 3 angels' messages, the better.

And the more beautiful they become, just like we saw last night, and the louder they become.

Last night, the loud cry became louder, and more comprehensible as Dr.

Wiley went through the Third Angel's Message and the Loud Cry and Great Blessing.

I'm working on a book, actually, on the 3 Angels' Messages.

And it's supposed to be a witnessing book And I told someone about it last week and they said you can't write a book that short Because I said it's only gonna be 40 pages They said no no no no no you can't do it that short and then I wrote this week a little bit and I'm going to share some of the stuff but it was 42 pages okay and that was the first angels message and it needs to be whittled down a bit but When you start to look it's it's amazing now.

I want to look at 2 things first of all The 3 angels messages will give an overview of them will look more closely in a special sense the seventh day Adventists Have been set in the world as watchmen and lightbearers to them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world they have been given a work of most solemn import the proclamation of the first second and third angels messages so you wondered what the seventh day of the church is supposed to be doing if you go to any church this is what they're supposed to be doing.

If they don't do that, maybe they're in name only.

Or maybe, it needs to be connected to this in some way.

There is, what's it say, no other work of so great importance there to allow, what's it say, nothing else to absorb their intention.

How many of you have ever allowed anything else to absorb your attention?

Basically Revelation 14, 14 and 15 talks about the Second Coming.

Thrust in your sickle and reap for the time of harvest has come.

So there's this idea that Jesus is coming again in Revelation chapter 14 verse 14 and 15 and He's coming to harvest ripened grain.

He's coming to harvest wild grapes as well.

He's going to get rid of the bad and keep the good.

That's the picture that's given in Revelation 14, verse 14 and 15.

But leading up to that, there's 3 messages.

There are 3 final messages before the second coming.

The first angel's message, which Wade read for us today, is what we're going to look at today.

And it pretty much talks about God's prescription for righteousness, for health, for happiness.

The second angel's message in verse 8 and verse 18, 1-4, which we looked at briefly last night, is talking about the bad.

So we have the good and then basically get out of the bad and revelation chapter 14 I'm gonna talk about that coming up and then the third angels message which we heard last night the loud cry bringing everything together and saying look there's a consequence to the consequence to these message messages either a good consequence were bad consequence.

Now we're gonna look at the first angel's message today.
