Return of the Gods

I wasn't going to do this, had no idea about a week ago that I was going to do this.

I was thinking of something else for you.

And then I heard about this guy, I've heard of him before, but Jonathan Cahn, he wrote this book, The Return of the Gods.

He's done Harbinger, Harbinger II, a lot of others.

Sometimes I've kind of thought, you know, I don't necessarily care for his writing, but this 1 is phenomenal.

And I thought, okay, I've got to do something on it.

And I started in and I started working on it and working on it and working on it and working on it.

And yesterday I thought, there is no way I'm going to finish this thing.

And I think I worked on it 13 hours yesterday and 13 or 14 hours on it last night.

I'm still working on it late and kind of panicking.

I feel overwhelmed and frustrated, but God got me through it.

Now, it's a, you know, it's probably really a first rendition, but it, I think it lays out a lot of the general things.

While Return of the Gods hits the high topics of, like, the 30, 000-foot view, what I've done probably even hits the higher 30, 000-plus feet elevation of the book.

But I want you to think about, before I go on, in the book of Daniel, chapter 12, verse 1, I believe it is, talks about a time of trouble such as never was.

But praise God, the saints get the kingdom.

In Revelation 20, After all of this mess, after everything going on, the devil, his angels, and all the wicked are thrown into the lake of fire, where they end up as ashes under the feet of the saints.

That's the end of it, finally the end of it, But we are not at the end of it yet.

But we are definitely not at the end of it.

We are, I would say, right in the middle of this mess, probably inching dramatically forward toward the time of trouble.

So, without further ado, let me jump into the return of the gods.

You remember Adam and Eve, of course, They made a choice.

They chose the devil, moved his direction.

Cain wanted to either listen to God or to another God.

He listened to the other God, chose the devil's way, killed his brother, and the sentence was separation.

Now Genesis 4 says, then Cain left the Lord's presence.

When you leave God's presence, you've got a real problem.

Because there is no support system, there is no life without God.

And unfortunately, people can sit in the church, People can be everywhere and say, oh yeah, I've got a friendship and relationship with God.

But Jesus in Matthew tells us, not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven.

But only the person who does what my Father in heaven wants.

Then I will tell him publicly, I never knew you.

Those who depart from God cannot find rest, according to John Wesley, anywhere else.

When Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, he never rested after.

Now the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was so great in the earth that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was Only evil.

There wasn't anything else that went on in his mind.

He said, I will wipe out these people I've created, and also the animals and the birds, because I am so sorry I've made them.

All they wanted to do was seek after other gods.

All they wanted to do was do their own desires, their own heart.

But their own heart was, who were they following?

They were following the desires of the devil.

Their own heart had been turned to another god, and that's all they were following.

But God found 1, He says he was pleased with Noah.

Now I put this 1 in here simply to show you the size of Noah's Ark.

They've estimated this is approximate size.

And until you go there, you never appreciate how big that arc really was.

But God called and called and called through Noah to come into the ark of safety.

Change your thoughts, change your heart, I will save you.

And it got to the point, Ellen White tells us that even the devil, The devil was fearful, can't even say it today, for his own life.

He thought he was going to die out in the floods.

The conflagration was so great, so massive, so terrible, so horrible, The whole earth shook.

It didn't take long, though, after the flood, after Noah got off the family and things, and they began repopulating Earth, man had a better idea.

The spirits talked to man and they said, we can reach to the heavens.

Finally, fast forward to the children of Israel.

And you know what that sad story was all about is, as Moses went up on the mountain to meet with the God of the universe, the children of Israel are down there, 40 days, They're saying, hey, let's build ourselves something that represents...

Very significant, we don't have time to go into that today either.

See there's only 2 choices out there, God and the devil.

The only choices there ever are The spirit of God or the spirits of the demons.

All restraints seem to be removed from the people.

They offered burnt offerings to the golden calf.

Ellen White says, a spirit of levity took possession of them.

They ate, they drank, they rose up to play, they indulged in shameful rioting and drunkenness.

He has the tablets, the 10 Commandments, which were the law of God that had preceded Israel.

And on that tablet it said, Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
