We have been studying the Bible together now for more than 22 weeks, almost 6 months every Wednesday night.

Hundreds, really thousands of people join us either on Wednesday night or sometimes because of the time change they join us during the week and watch the presentation.

We have so many questions that have come in.

I did want to mention to you though, although we're on the last chapter, I'm going to continue for 2 more weeks and let me tell you why.

Because questions have come in, can you tell us the sequence of the book of Revelation?

In other words, not every chapter in Revelation follows logically after the last chapter.

So what's the sequence of events between here and the coming of Jesus?

Next Wednesday night, I'll cover Revelation 1 to 11.

I'll put them in a time frame for you and I'll put them in a sequence.

Then 2 weeks from tonight I'll deal with Revelation 12 to 22.

They may be the 2 most powerful, the most inspiring, and the most enlightening of our entire time together.

Well, let me pray, and then we'll go right into our questions for tonight.

Father in heaven, thank you for my dear friends, that night by night we have been studying the book of Revelation together.

We've come to the end of the book, but not the end of our studies.

And I just pray that the Holy Spirit will be with us, that you'll guide us tonight, open our eyes to see wonderful things from your Word.

I started studying with SDA's Seventh-day Adventist in December of last year.

Well, Adam from Alaska, praise God that you were baptized.

When I was a child, I was raised as a Jehovah Witness.

They believe God's people inherit the earth and live in a new paradise, earth.

Revelation 21 and other scriptures talk about a new heavens and a new earth.

Will we be living in both heaven and a paradise, earth, after the thousand years?

How do we as Adventists view the new earth differently than Jehovah Witnesses?

A couple of things about the teachings of Jehovah Witnesses when it comes to new heavens and a new earth.

First, Jehovah Witnesses believe that only the 144, 000 will go to heaven.

So they believe, earlier they believed that in 1914 that Jesus returned and those with a spiritual eye saw him and they eventually, the 144, 000, would make up his kingdom, sit on thrones with him, and rule in heaven.

They also believe that during the thousand-year period Christ would reign and during that time people that didn't have an opportunity to know the gospel or know the truth would hear it.

They also believe that when a person dies, if they had died before that period of that thousand year period of rain, that they could be resurrected at the end of it, Satan would have a great test and people then would either be righteous or saved or lost.

John 3 verse 16, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should have everlasting life.

Through Christ, by his grace, every believer has the opportunity to live in heaven 1 day with Jesus.

So what does the Bible teach about the Millennium and how is that different?

When Christ comes the second time, 1st Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 16 and 17 says, the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God, the dead in Christ shall rise first and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.

So at the beginning of the thousand year reign of Christ, at the beginning of that thousand years, the righteous are caught up to meet Christ in the sky.

Jesus does not come here on earth, does not place his feet on the earth, but we meet him in the air.

Revelation 14, 1 to 3 says, let not your heart be troubled.

You believe in God, believe also in me and my father's house of many mansions.

If it were not so, I would have told you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, Jesus says, I will come again to receive you to myself that where I am you are there you may be also.

So when Christ returns, the righteous dead are resurrected to receive immortal bodies.

The righteous living receive immortal bodies and together they're caught up to meet Christ in the sky.

According to Revelation 20 verse 1, Satan is bound on this earth for a thousand years.

Does anybody live here during this period of time with Satan and his angels?

In Jeremiah 4 it says, I beheld in the fruitful place was a wilderness and all the cities were broken down at the fierce anger of God, Jeremiah 4 25, and there was no man.

So nobody's living on earth during that thousand year period except Satan and his evil angels.

Jeremiah 25 verse 33 says that the slain of the Lord shall be up from 1 end of the earth to the other.

What about what happens in heaven during this time according to Revelation 20 verse 4?

We sit on thrones, that is all the redeemed, not simply this 144, 000, but all the redeemed sit on thrones.

During that period of time we participate with Christ in the final judgments of the earth.

At the end of the thousand years the Holy City descends.

God allows the wicked to be raised again.

See, at the end of the thousand years, it's not the righteous that are raised, it's the wicked, and they're not raised for a second chance.

John 5, verse 28 and 29 says that, marvel not at this, for all there in the grave shall hear his voice.

They that have done good to the resurrection of life, they that have done evil to the resurrection of damnation.

So 2 resurrections, resurrection of life, resurrection of damnation.

Resurrection of life is the first resurrection, and that will take place at the beginning of the thousand years.

Revelation 20 verse 5 says the rest of the dead, that's the wicked, do not live again till the thousand years are finished.

So the wicked are raised at the end of the thousand years, the Holy City descends, they rush upon it, and the Bible says fire comes down from God out of heaven and devours them.

So from the biblical standpoint it is totally a contrary to what Jehovah Witnesses believe.

It is clear in Scripture that the millennium is a thousand-year period bounded by 2 resurrections, the resurrection of life, the resurrection of damnation.

Incidentally, you might ask, why doesn't Jesus just come and put an end to it?

You know in Nahum 1 verse 9 it says that affliction or sin will not rise up a second time.

The reason why Christ does not simply come back is he wants to ensure the security of the universe forever.

By showing how good God is, how fair and just and loving He is, and by showing the evil, terrible nature of sin.

During the thousand-year period in heaven, we see that God is fair and just with every person who's lost, that if you would have brought them into heaven, they would have started the rebellion all over again.

We see his love, his grace, his goodness, and his fairness as we participate with him on the throne and on our thrones.

We see the wicked results of sin, the horrible results of sin, as we see this devastated earth.

So during this thousand-year period, God himself reveals the beauty of his grace, the majesty of his love, his fairness, and his goodness.
